How come this isnt a thing? I know there's a ton of mechanics and that they are challenging even for established teams, but i feel like us solo players deserve to play the content as well. it sucks that i have never even set foot in Deep Stone Crypt, and yet some of the best loot is essentially locked out of my reach. i even think a solo difficulty or rework would be good, that way it would still be extremely challenging, but would also allow everyone to see what is in this content.
all i see on YouTube is how amazing the raids and dungeons are, but the most i can do is attempt to solo dungeons, which isnt bad; they actually feel beatable, i just need more time. the same should be able to apply to raids. 6 man should still be just as hard, but there needs to be a solo or matchmaking option available.

1 ReplyI would not mind it being an option for those who want it, but for raids, it's gonna be a big oof, but like I said, I'm not against it. The problem with matchmaking for raids is that the failure rate of lobbies would be very high. You'll run into all sorts of problems, and if players can't agree on who should lead the fireteam, players will just end up leaving or completely ignoring the other players. Dungeon matchmaking would be more successful considering they're like raid-lite and don't have mechanics as equally complex. You may or may not need a mic depending on player knowledge of the dungeon.

Edited by Swiftlock: 3/28/2021 7:54:03 PM
How come this isnt a thing
Because matchmaking will mash together blueberries that might not speak the same language, don't know mechanics, don't have mics, are too low-leveled and might have terrible lag. It's not worth programming. That's why. Pretty simple. Go to the channels of less popular D2 streamers and ask for help in their chat. You'll be amazed how willing small communities are to lend a hand.

Try LFG. Genuinely, it’s a really good tool for finding teams for endgame activities

I'm mostly a solo player too. I've beaten all of the raids for the first time with lfg teams. It's not hard to find a team. Why not use the match making to make friends or join a clan? Raids are tough enough to beat with 6 people that kind of know what to do, can communicate and are friends. Maybe an hour or three to complete. Now imagine 6 strangers that don't know what they are doing, maybe no mic, most likely poor communication, people that can't make friends and no raid experience, no good guns, poor temperament. What happens when your team is stuck on the first encounter for hours. Do you think everyone will stick it out? What happens when people start leaving? Is there matchmaking for people that bail? This is the reason why they don't have matchmaking for endgame content. It takes dedication and good teammates, not usually found with random strangers. See strikes, Gambit, crucible and public events, people not knowing what to do. It would be a bad experience in general.

3 RepliesHave a look through the LFG section of the app, it’s great for finding fireteams. Sure, there are some people looking for “DSC KWTD 12000 clears needed checking raid report”, but there are normal solo players like you (and me) looking for teams to get things done. Give it a go 👍

2 Repliesso, nobody wants to see raid content that is made to be just as challenging, but balanced for a solo run... the narrow scope that the average Destiny player has of this game is painful. more activities means more fun stuff to do, group or not.

2 RepliesThe reason why raids dont have matchmaking is because bungie knows the success rate would be incredibly low so they are saving players from themselves by not adding it. All dungeons and mini dungeons (harbinger/non-master presage) should have matchmaking though because 1 good player can easily carry the team.

If you look at the bottom of your screen, you should see a tab called fireteams. You click that and press “All Activities.” After that, a drop down menu will show up and you can select Deep Stone Crypt. You are then free to join any of those posts. There is your matchmaking

5 RepliesBecause it’s so difficult to join an active clan, make a LFG post, create a LFG post. Matchmaking will never be in end game content period. It doesn’t belong in any game mode that requires communication. If you choose not to use the tools available to you then that is on you. Bungie will not cater to solo players nor should they in a multiplayer game. If you want to play solo stick to games meant to be played solo. Destiny was not. Down voted.

4 RepliesIf an lfg can fail a raid, then the odds of a match made group completing it are much much worse. Raid mm would fill it with players that have no mic/no idea of what to do. Dungeons are a different story, mm would be fine with that. But you can just solo them anyway.

3 RepliesIt should be a thing. It’s one of the only moves left for bungie to make that would slightly revive this dead pos game.

19 RepliesNot only can you use the lfg on this site that you’re on right now, but raids have the guided games feature. There’s nothing stopping you from doing a raid.
