I just got into Destiny 2 and enjoyed the PvE a lot. As a big multiplayer game fan who sinks hundreds of hours into games like the Bungie Halos, Overwatch, etc. I decided to dive into the Crucible and, man, I've got to say this might be one of the worst multiplayer experiences I've ever played. And no, I'm not trying to be over dramatic about it. I want to like it because I like everything else about this game, but I simply can't play it. It's that bad.
Where to start? The major thing with what's wrong is the absolute poor (or lack thereof) design of the multiplayer. There's no rhyme or reason to the flow of the game and each match just turns into a cluster-blam!- where you're consistently being one shotted from all directions.
In addition, the netcode is absolute garbage. I'll consistently get a jump on another player thinking that I've got them just to find myself being the one that dies at the end of the exchange for no apparent reason. And no it's not me, because I don't have this problem in any other game.
The gun meta is way off. The amount of times I've been slid into and one shotted with a shotgun (that people spawn with!) or two shotted with a revolver from across the map is insane. I've never played a multiplayer game where I've felt like I'm at such a disadvantage before when I spawn. It's discouraging for that to happen.
It's difficult to tell who's an enemy vs a teammate since everyone looks the same. Yes, there are some queues to signal an enemy like the red name and health bar, but when you're running full speed and turn a corner into another player, those queues are oftentimes not enough.
Does anyone else feel this way? These are just a few issues I've found with the multiplayer off the top of my head.
TL;DR: As a long time Bungie Halo fan, I have found Destiny 2's multiplayer to be vastly disappointing. It's simply unplayable and one of the worst multiplayer games I've ever played. I think the fundamental design of it is poor.

Seems like you might want to play around in 3s. 6s is very much designed to be an extreme cluster-blam!-, since in Y1, it was a really paced 4v4 that not many people I know liked. But imho, smaller team sizes is where this game shines more, and why I wish Skirmish from D1 would make a return.

That's why I've given up on PvP in Destiny 2. It's just a waste of time. However, there is a lot of other interesting things in the game besides PvP.

Would be more fun with weapons on map.

Destiny is a PvE focused game with a added on pvp. By the nature of the game it can not be balanced for pvp. Just get over it, it’s not a main stream e sport game.
