Osiris almost got wasted while using a scout rifle
Bungie admits that scouts are trash when the greatest Warlock to ever have lived just about got killed if not for a sunsetted sword in the hands of a Kinderguardian.
Seriously, Scout rifles have never been in a good place in D2 (compared to Hung Jury in D1) and poor old Oxygen SR3 never got the opportunity to live up the the title of "Pinnacle". A mere shadow of the weapon it should have been.
[u]EDIT[/u]: Whoa guys, chill. This was supposed to be a lighthearted post, maybe a bit funny. Apparently not.
This is [u]NOT[/u] a PVP post, I am not asking for a buff in PVP.
In PVE, scouts could benefit from a buff.
Use a bow for a couple hours, then switch to a scout and see for yourself. Those red bar ads that are 1 shotted with a bow now take 2-3 shots with a scout.
TL;DR not a pvp post.

5 RepliesNot sure why you said that Scouts have never been in a good place in Destiny 2, because in Year 1 there were a number of scout rifles that were solid choices - Nameless Midnight (I cry whenever I see my master-worked NM sitting in my vault collecting dust) - Manannan SR4 (and it's little brother Madrugada SR2) - Pleiades Corrector (Destiny 2's version of Cocytus SR4) - Tone Patrol It wasn't until the start of Year 2 (Forsaken) and after the nerf where Scouts were no longer in a good place. What irks me is the basis of Bungie's reasoning that Scouts are in a "good place" [according to them] appears to be driven by PvP. [quote]Scout Rifles: Scouts have a reasonable time to kill (TTK)and can't be adjusted too much without making them dominate the battlefield[/quote] While that might be the case in that side of the game, but on the PvE side - scouts rifles are in a bad place and need to have some adjustments to at least make them a viable choice when it comes to PvE content.

2 RepliesScouts are only bad in PvE low end content. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/12vF7ckMzN4hex-Tse4HPiVs_d9huFOKlvUoq5V41nxU/edit?usp=drivesdk While their damage output is actually superior to Hand Cannons, Pulse Rifles, and Bows, they feel bad against low level trash mobs because a shot or two often just leaves them with a sliver of health, leaving a disatisfactory taste in people's mouths to have to take an extra shot. Technically, in higher level content, they'll down enemies faster than other medium and long range weapons because enemies have higher health. At most, they need a small nudge in precision damage total (less smidge of health scenarios), and body shot damage to go up, as they have terrible body shot damage (and thus terrible shield damage).

3 RepliesOnly three scouts have been useful for me in PvE: Randy’s, Patron with Rapid hit/explosive rounds, and night watch with rapid hit/explosive rounds. See the trend? Scouts should not need very specific rolls to be usable, let alone good

Scout Rifles don't suck, they just need lanes and people who have the, "shit, he killed me three times in the same spot! Maybe if I try one more time I'll get him first" mentality. 🤫

I think they are extremely fearful of having the meta that was back in Y1 ToN with mida multi tool for some reason. Cause ever since then they just haven’t been as good they seem to always get the short end of the stick You cant lie though some scouts are good but only the exotic ones and 1 pinnacle are good (i said pinnacle I meant ritual)

8 RepliesScouts are basically long range hand cannons, if you stay as far back ad possible then you will get some really easy kills. If you are the type that tried to engage with a scout at mid to close range then you will get wrecked. Scouts really are not as bad as some people think, they do take an insane amount of flinch but apart from that, their ttk is solid
