Making vendor equipment drop 20 power lower is just a cheap way to prevent people from spamming tokens to hit the softcap. Dude, People are sick of grinding bullshit, ESPECIALLY when its obvious the only reason that change happened was to slow progress....and guess what!?
The people who would spam tokens, will still grind their power levels out regardless. It's just an artificial and annoying roadblock.

7 Repliesoh no, i cant stand in the tower and bypass all content to level my character up woe is me play the game
-
3 RepliesI thought this was a real complaint. You're really complaining you can't stand at a vendor and spam the A button for rewards?
-
4 RepliesI actually agree with this change. Progress shouldn't come from standing in front of a blue idiot mashing the a button over and over.
-
58 RepliesGee. How dare you Bungie actually require us to play the game in order to progress, rather than standing in the Tower and slamming tokens like we're playing a Vegas slot machine. I swear some of you are either just trolls looking to bash Bungie over, or really have no concept of what a good RPG experience is like. Progression is a product of PLAY.

Edited by Erijian: 11/2/2020 11:29:04 PMBeing able to spam to the soft cap was always a poor design choice anyway. Play the damn game to earn higher power gear.
-
Don't mind tokens going away. Just hope there's other means to help with bad RNG. Sunsetting also doesn't bother me as long as the grind for other weapons and god rolls are actually rewarding and fun. If bungie adds another activity like the menagerie I'll be happy. It allowed us to grind for the right weapons as well as the rolls in a timely manner. If we got crappy rolls it wasn't frustrating because the weapons were guaranteed to drop. It's not like D1's grind for god rolls which was aggravating to say the least. Still haven't gotten a good rolled eyasluna.

14 Repliesso you are ok with grinding prior to the DLC, to stock up on things, but grinding new content is a big no for you? seems legit.
-
Guess what:
Everything that prevents you from getting endlevel gear is an artificial grind
-
5 RepliesYou do realise that you can gain 150 levels from blue drops right?
-
2 RepliesIt's going to backfire. Relying on drops alone will cause some players to get left behind for no fault of their own but bad RNG. When you keep getting the drop in the same slot or have a slot that you just can't get it to drop in, your going to suffer for it progression wise. Fireteam Chat pointed this out. Some players are going to get F***ed by this change.

1 ReplyEdited by Soul_Eater_42: 11/1/2020 3:55:22 AMYou see, this is why we need a Vendor refresh. We haven't had any new weapons and armor (besides the Pinnacle and Ritual weapons) since Season 4, so the only reason anyone would spend any tokens on the Crucible and Vanguard vendors is either for Legendary Shards from dismantling the gear you get from them, or for high level gear. Since they're lowering the level of the gear you get from the Vendors, there won't be any reason to spend any tokens, other than for Legendary Shards. Vendors need to have new armor and weapons at least every other Season.
-
Edited by Double07: 11/1/2020 6:09:33 PMTokens are a bad system change like snipers in the heavy slot, and should be reverted back to the rep system. That was a really good system that made vendors/factions useful when you play the game. -blam!- tokens. They're too cheap like the rewards you get from them.
-
2 RepliesI now have no reason to play until launch. Nor do my 1,000 pvp and pve tokens I’ve been grinding for launch have any use now
-
3 Repliesyou know sitting at tower for 10m and get 140 power level is not playing the game ,
-
It makes sense why they chose to do that. Now they just need to create a reason to spend tokens after I have the armour set
-
They don’t give a shit about your opinion, nor anybody elses opinion, because they’re stingy mother-blam!-ers, so don’t even -blam!-ing bother.
-
If you don't like grind then this isn't the game for you sweety.
-
Because they are stretching the hell out of what they have which was Destiny 3 and now shall be thrown across 3 years. Haha

1 ReplyYou say this, but if they didn’t do this, then you would be complaining “streamers are ruining the game because they stacked up on 5000+ tokens and are already at hard cap on day one! Nerf tokens!”
-
Ill be taking a hard pass until they cut the crap out.
-
Wait till they release subclasses and get cute and lock a perk behind raid/trials or something like that or even better a quest like these abominations for seasonal catalysts that find 400 strikes to be perfectly reasonable length. Makes me laugh when I see people rant on forums about people rushing through strikes as if they don’t understand why someone would want to get through them quickly when it’s 1 down 400 to go and after the 400 are done you are still missing most of the catalysts.
-
every time they drop new game content they make time spent in game less valuable.
-
Here's the thing people are for it because they dont want others to boost levels faster but the thing is with my almost 10k cruci tokens i would maybe at most get like 25-30 levels it was already so unlikely to get anything better and honestly I just wanted to use them to have a full set of the new gear day 1 (which at this point I've heard so many different things idk if there is new armour at all). What the hell is the point of tokens if they can only get me trash 20 below my level?
-
I'm so happy abt this. token farming has fkd strikes
-
8 RepliesSpot on. Running the same old shit to grind power is boring now. They just made it worse. Tone deaf.
