Sooo I have been thinking with the new DLC to Destiny 2 bringing Stasis (aka Ice) to weapons, does that mean the Coldheart is becoming a Stasis weapon when the DLC drops? if not can you please do that Bungie.
I mean when Destiny 2 first came out it was branded as that kind of weapon so its only fitting that it gets the change. I mean nothing has to change drastically just change it from Arc to Stasis, that is all I ask.
Thanks

3 RepliesEven if there isn’t a change to its element, Coldheart still needs some love. It’s outshined by all the other trace rifles.
-
It fires a continuous ARC beam that's cooled by super cold liquids. Its not stasis. Stop thinking that. It really isn't.

1 ReplyEdited by SolarCerberuS: 10/27/2020 4:45:29 AMMost people get distracted by the name. It's essentially a cold fusion weapon That generates electricity aka arc energy. its name is merely from it's liquid coolant also being it's ammo/fuel. You would have to change its lore to make it stasis, and that wouldn't make sense seeing as we didn't wield stasis when it was created. It's better if they create a new stasis trace rifle imo with its own origins maybe it's an exotic a darkness champion once wielded or one we obtain for killing a boss?

Only a fool would think coldheart should be stasis
-
It shoots arc energy. It is only called coldheart because it is cooled with liquid nitrogen.
-
2 RepliesIs Wavesplitter grape?
-
Good observation. I think it should. Bungie might as well have just made it kinetic. Arc is not ice, ice is not arc. Ice is stasis, stasis is ice.
-
2 RepliesKeep it arc, but change its intrinsic perk "Cold Fusion" since it doesn't really add anything of value anymore.
-
1 ReplyThe real question is will the osmosis perk work as intended with the new subclass? Or will there be some BS excuse as to why it doesn't.
-
No one uses this weapon so I don’t see why not, all these nerds talking about its lore need to go away. Lore can always be changed, bungie can always do some bs lore change giving the weapon stasis.
-
2 RepliesICE IS NOT STASIS. COLDHEART IS NOT COLD. COLDHEART IS NOT STASIS. Thank you for coming to my Tedtalk.
-
Ice=/=Stasis. If we’re going off the logic that ice=stasis, then that means the plague lands and all RoI content involving snow has stasis there.
-
Coldheart: cold fusion. Arc energy: not just energy, but fusion. Summary: Coldheart uses a form of cooled Arc Light.
-
2 RepliesI swear if I see another one of these posts.......
-
I'd prefer a new stasis trace rifle.
-
while it would be cool, i kinda hope for a new exotic trace rifle, maybe one that freezes a target after the beam is on them for a while. also, ice=/= stasis. it may seem similar, but they are not
-
4 RepliesNo, stop trying to reuse old Exotics, we should get a new Exotic Trace Rifle. Here is a concept for you:
Heart of Stasis: Exotic Stasis Trace Rifle The latest Europa engineering leverages stasis fuel as coolant to keep weapon systems at biting stasis temperatures. Intrinsic Perk: Stasis Fusion Shoots a cold stasis-powered laser. Exotic Perk: Longest Stasis Heart of Stasis laser does exponentially more damage the longer it remains on a target.
-
Leave it Arc A stasis exotic fusion rifle would be cool (each bolt inflicts stasis damage over time and weakens the target)
-
9 RepliesHow the -blam!- is Omolon gonna get a hold of Stasis tech? Also, it’s called Coldheart because of the coolant/cold-fusion powered energy. Not because it’s shooting an ice beam.
-
I’m pretty sure this has already been said. It’s not a cold beam. It’s called cold heart due to its cooling technology because the beam is so hot.
-
Don't change my Frosty boy.. make a new stasis gal 😋😁👍
-
Edited by Swiftlock: 10/26/2020 4:55:30 PMIt wouldn't make any sense. Omolon built the Coldheart as an Arc laser powered by cold fusion. Nowhere does it say that the gun shoots ice. If you want to get picky about logic, then Divinity should become Stasis, since it actually slows enemies and the Vex are communing with the Darkness.
-
Cool idea, but you still get sinned for suggesting Bungie reuse an exotic instead of creating a new one. Ding! +1...
-
1 ReplyNah lore wise arc makes sense. This is a great opportunity to open an exotic quest that tasks players with killing enemies with each exotic trace (except Divinity) for research for the gunsmith so he can figure up a way to channel our new stasis powers into a new stasis trace.

2 RepliesEdited by --KNIGHT--: 10/26/2020 10:53:59 AMThey could simply change the lore to account for new changes. Rather than coolant being used to cool down the weapon, stasis is used and replaced the arc beam for greater efficiency. Omolon kind prides themselves in developing their tech, why not start with Coldheart?

I understand and sympathize with why some might be confused with this plight. If I recall correctly though lorewise the weapon requires its core to be kept cold to prevent from overheating. I think the weapon itself was always known to deal arc despite the name.
