Almost perfection, this is what needs to happen in general it would make more sense for some exotic armor perks to be thrown into fragments and aspects of powers, please think about moving our other powers in this way.

16 RepliesEdited by Quiet_Bushi: 9/2/2020 7:50:51 AMEhy Maw. Personally speaking, I'm still not sure about this new system. It looks like they put the Mods System for Armors into the Subclass Tree. What' I'm afraid of is that now we will have also to grind/farm in order to find Fragments and Aspects for this Subclass, plus, we will need to do more math in order to have the Stats we want. I'd rather have a more simplistic system like that we had in D1 with all the Perks already there and the possibility to pick our favorite when we wanted. Also, I don't like the idea that Some Fragments are going to give me maluses and bonuses at the same time. For example, if I want my Warlock to freeze with his Class Ability I also must lose 10 in Discipline and Intellect ecc. Now, on one hand, this is of course a balance measure. But, since we know that Bungie is probably the last competent SH when it's about balances, on the other hand I'm worry this is going to be or terribly broken or useless. I don't know. I'll wait the future to see how the situation will evolve before chosing if pick this new Expansion or not.

To be honest it looks way more refreshing and a semi-Fusion of the best about D2 and D1: - The choice we have to customize how we want it to function on a building block level. - The amazing artistry on display while we do it (D1 looked awful in that screen) - The potential for it to expand to our other Subclasses! I am very excited.

The supers are reskins, the subclass tree is better, and your still are going to use use well, bubble, tether, or celestial in endgame.

1 ReplyEdited by Ghostfire239: 9/1/2020 11:44:15 PMI absolutely love the new UI. I hope they do this for other subclasses as well when they eventually (hopefully) let us customize them too.

13 RepliesEdited by Kiro - 13: 9/1/2020 9:47:21 PMI like the mechanics of the new sub class. But as for aesthetics... dear god is it UGLY. Any way we can get this changed to a taken shadow/darkness visual like effect? Also a staff???!!! come on Bungie give that dress wearer a GD SCYTHE especially since hunters get hand sickles.

Edited by Guardian: 9/2/2020 4:03:22 PMIm hyped im trying not to but im mega hyped. I hope other supers get this treatment too though

1 ReplyI have a creeping suspicion that the new Stasis “customization” is just going to be another case or armor 2.0, where you think you’re customizing, but really you’re only limited to what Bungie wants you to play.
-
10 RepliesDepends. They say Aspects and Fragments are physical objects to be picked up in the world. So are we talking dead Ghosts, where they’re in set locations around the world and we have to go collect them? Or are we talking random drops for subclass customization? If it’s the latter... don’t expect that to go well

I hope some of the more powerful aspects and fragments are rare drops. I wanna farm Last Wish to get an awoken shard aspect. I wanna open a hidden chest in GoS and get hyped I just found the "Petiolaria Microgrowth" fragment. I wanna farm bounties for spider in the Hopes I get an ultra-rare "Illicit Ether Tank" fragment. On the flip side, I hope a fair amount are scavenger hunt or quest based. I wanna explore the secret cave at the start of Exodus Down and discover a strange vex artefact aspect. I'd like to reach the hidden depths of the cosmodrome and discover a hive-worm-carcass that "Whispers of forbidden knowledge". Maybe even find weaponizable remnants of Siva in a fallen lair on Europa.

I like the idea of mixing and matching these fragments and aspects, The fact that this will give players the ability to fine-tune their abilities to their own playstyle is an amazing addition. I do not want these to be hard to get or find, but I do not want it to be easy either. But what really makes me excited is the concept of a true battlefield control subclass. This is as close to my favorite DND playstyle as you can get (specifically referring to the warlock shade binder). Reminds me so much of all the BS I used to pull with my first DND cleric. I would love to make a super tank build that literally embodies the Gandalf quote "YOU SHALL NOT PASS"

Remember: Bungie usually overpromises then underdelivers/over nerfs. Plus, the amount of incoming glitches from ripping out 50% of the game will probably render the game night inoperable

Edited by iPatrikolby: 9/2/2020 7:14:58 PMYou've seen two screen shots and you're declaring it almost perfection? Seems risky. Probably won't age well. Looks like same lame perk tree as before except now its an Org chart? You mean I can choose to have a lame effect on my rift? Amazing! And I have to find these perks in the wild. More grind is what everyone was hoping for! If only they had a perfectly fleshed out skill tree in D1 that allowed you customize literally everything on one screen. This is more hype that changes nothing. Stasis is apt. Nothing new to see here.

1 ReplyWarlock shadebinder It's basically Frost from Warframe Poggers

3 RepliesAll right, so I just saw what’s going on, and I have concerns. While subclass customisation is welcome and highly-requested, it still seems somewhat restricted & the system to utilise it sounds needlessly convoluted, which is what Bungie usually does to artificially extend content when they don’t have much to offer. Also, currently, there are 12 subclass perks aside from grenades, jumps & class abilities, yet far less has been showcased for Stasis. There is an issue as well with them being too lazy to update old subclasses with more customization, as they already scammed us with them.
-
7 RepliesAnyone else willing to bet the old subclasses won't be reworked to this new system?
-
5 RepliesI welcome something new but I have concerns. Part of me (the part that's too used to how Bungie operate) suspect Bungie were high fiving in the office when they thought of a new way to add grind to the game. How do we get these items that we add to our class trees? Are they going to be locked into certain activities? I can see it now. Want X ability for your tree? Here...go grind gambit until this item drops. Want more cooldown for your X ability? Sure, just play trials over and over and this magic doohickey will drop randomly for you. I'm not trying to give Bungie a hard time here, I'm simply basing my assumptions on how they have handled things like this before. If they have form for doing stuff like this, we'd be silly to not assume this will be the case until we see something that suggests otherwise, and I'm still looking.

2 RepliesThere are a few things I don't like about this upcoming system. One is that it's going to require *more* farming in order to get the "correct" fragments and aspects for what will probably be only a tiny selection of viable combinations for maximum efficiency. Another thing I don't like is that, at least so far, it seems Stasis is being designed as a "freeze first, shatter with super afterwards" and while one-two combinations can be fun when on basic abilities, having an essentially useless Super unless you *also* use more abilities to make it functional sounds like terrible, parasitic design. The last thing I'm not a fan of is, admittedly, subjective but the appearance of the "ice" looks hokey and out of place. Also, the staff itself is janky as hell. I legit thought it looked like someone made a bad staff mod for Morrowind due to inexperience with meshes and models. It's really cheap and lazy looking.

The customization is leagues better than what we currently have but I REALLY hope it’s applied to the current subclasses we have. Don’t remember the last time I used shattering strike on middle tree night stalker.

1 ReplyI have to agree, this is a good step forward for character customization in general. I can see some vague similarities to D1 in its design, when I look at it more closely. One major aspect I noticed about this "customization slots" approach to Stasis is that it allows for any number of additions to it in the future, similar to armor mods. This is something D1 was only able to partially accomplish through the addition of an entirely new subclass in The Taken King, and D2 did something similar in Forsaken with subclass branches. Neither of them had the foundation in place for what I'm now seeing here with Stasis, where you can slot in any Aspects and Fragments you earn. Essentially, what I like about this design is that it is future-proofed. If it is adapted to our earlier subclasses, it would provide a framework through which to add new Aspects, Fragments, or new abilities to choose from as time goes on.

Too good to be true, temper expectations

I have no clue what you’re talking about. I want to know more

”We will, just £40 per subclass subsection!” ~ Bungie

I remain hesitantly optimistic

4 RepliesLooks like a long overdue step in the right direction. The skill trees have been calling out for assistance since practically day 1. Will depend on how it all plays out... then how much it gets nerfed. But perfection? C’mon now. I might give it to ya if the other 3/4 of the classes were getting attention, too. Why am I skeptical they won’t be coming around any time soon though...
-
I think it’s important to show bungie what we like and what we don’t like. This new customization looks very exciting. I truly hope they pour a lot of thought into these mods for your abilities. This could be the gateway towards actual builds in destiny, and I’m all for it!

It reminds me of D1 artifacts on steroids. I like it so far, but it depends what else is in there. I would also love to see it expanded to the other subclasses. Additionally, I wanna know if the fragments and aspects are going to be world objects that I can go hunt down on day one or if they will be reward drops. Honestly, I would rather have reward drops WITH protection, where your chance from the activity increases if you don't get it. Here's why: It would just feel so lame to go around and, day 1, have everything. That's me personally. Other people will disagree and I get that. Also, can we talk about the line that went something like "the first new subclass since D1"? Here is to hoping that in the following seasons (please) we get additional darkness subclasses!
