I know there are alot of posts about this.
Please explain why it has to be 7 wins in trials for solstice leg completion...
Why can't at the least or most be match completions??
Other steps in the armor like gambit is just completions. Why didn't you make that wins??
Here's my guess why you made trials Wins and not completions. You need/wanted more people to play trials............ Shady move in my opinion.. shady move.
I don't enjoy pvp, it's very frustrating. I play just enough to complete things I can do just enough to complete what I really want. In this case I don't want solstice legs that bad from trials, to spend how many matches to get 7 wins? 20 matches i have to do? yea right that won't happen. 40 matches to get 7 wins? I rather not even try if it's going to take that many matches.
I'm a long time Destiny player from 1 and 2. Lately the past year even in past years there have been questionable decisions. Beyond light is coming soon.. I want to be part of it, and enjoy the story in it. But I haven't preordered Beyond light and I'm not sure I will buy it on launch.
Why does it have to be 7 wins in trials for solstice legs?
Answer or don't. You probably won't. This trials issue isn't the only thing thats keeping me from preordering beyond light or even buying it when it launches.
Please explain why it has to be win's and not just completions... or don't and just ignore me..

As a bad pvp player, get about 1 win every 2 to 3 cards. A few close and a few of being utterly destroyed. A case for SBMM for the 1st 3 games and card based after.

Or even if it was 100+ kills in trials, I could handle that and would give it a go, it might take me hours, days or weeks, but at least it would be possible for someone like me. But knowing that it needs to be wins I’m not sure if I can get carried like that ☹️ I hate that kind of fast, aggressive fighting what I’ve experienced in previous years of trials - I like to take my time I don’t feel it’s worth putting myself through that stress and discomfort to complete my full armour set, I guess the armour I’ve completed will just have to be used with my Orpheus rigs then

21 RepliesForcing casual non-PvP players to go into Trials and win is like asking the school nerd to get punched in the face by the body building school bully. No thank you, not going to do it.

Edited by NightWolf: 8/22/2020 6:13:30 AMTbh, I think you are overreacting. Remember that a lot of people like you (casual players) are doing that, so if you do 1-win reset, you are going to find not sweaty games almost all the time. And if you use tools like trials report or destiny tracker, you know if the players you matched are good or not. So, if they are good, just back out and try find again to save time. That’s so simple and Im sure you can get the 7 wins really quick. Yeah you have to put some effort on the games, but hey, at least you have something that requires a little bit of skill in the whole armor grind. Look at the other requirements for the white glow: Master NF: you can skip all champions and you dont return to orbit if all of you die. PoH: You just kill the boss, piece of cake. Nightmare Hunt: piece of cake, can be done on easiest difficulty. Altar of sorrow: Just spam sword lol Even if you have to play 40 full games of trials to get the 7 wins, it will be faster than the previous set where just the 10 gambit matches take like 2 hours. On top of that, the 7 wins count for the other 2 characters, so basically is 2.3 wins per character to get the white glow in all of them.

They are trying to keep that shit gamemode on life support.
-
Maybe they just want you to buy the glow instead of trying to win 7 Trials matches - too many sweaty Lag advantaged players with all the insta-headshots in there for me.
-
100% agreement. Saw that requirement and decided not to slit my wrists for a glow.
-
Lol It’s 7 winds cause that’s what they decided on. Not a hard concept.

Son, we needed fodder for those sweet PvP streams, sorry not sorry. Bungo.

5 RepliesThe challenges for the glows aim towards completing every endgame activity the past year had to offer. PvE aswell as PvP. I mean thats what solstice is all about. Celebrating past years triumphs and accomplishments even in PvP. And 7 wins simply because Bungie likes their 7's and hinting at the number required to go flawless.

Oh yeah this is the step I’ve just finally got to ..... I’ve never even played 1 trials match yet .... finding people who would have someone as inexperienced as me at trials in their team would be hard but even harder to get the 7wins when I’m a nervous wreck around trials 😭😭 Think I might just leave it.....

8 RepliesThe armor objectives are activities people don’t run anymore Master NF Nightmare Hunts Altar Of Sorrow Pit Of Heresey(Prophecy killed it) Trials Of Osiris And the majestic set is also forcing people into unpopular activities like Gambit,Adventures,EAZ

Because bungie is all about the #7

2 RepliesBecause if it was completions you'd have the option to just suicide throw games until you have all seven completed. The current way requires you to actually need to try and be decent at the game for once. It's nice having rewards that require you to succeed at something rather than being able to just coast through it.
-
Personally I'd rather get the ornaments.

9 RepliesSomeone told me this, though I have yet to see it, is if you have all 3 of the final sets that it's only 3 games of Trials each. Can someone confirm or refute this?
-
4 Repliesfor the glows you must complete each activity. what point would there be to mere participation? when making the step if so-and-so doesn't like the activity required does not factor into the step. it's for the game as a whole. it's 1 piece out of a set for an optional cosmetic. it is available for sale if you don't want to do the step and feel you must have it. why is it people think that because it's in the game they should have it? or think that a step should not apply to them? even more so over a mere cosmetic reward that you don't need, will not enhance your game, nor will it prevent you from progression without it.

8 RepliesIm not bungie but I can give you a short explanation. Ok so for finishing the blue and purple set it was pretty much all just tedioua busy work right? Cool. Now you have your purple armour through tedious grinding and its time to put the cherry on the cake. The glow. But this time instead of tedious busy work it is somewhat challenging. Now of course bungie isnt going to make a community event have anything thats too too difficult, so instead of putting a GM/raid on the helmet they give a master NF, which is a dip of your toe into endgame pve content. Then they have the pit of heresy which is relatively simple as long as you know what you are doing but still a dip of the toe into end game pve. Then they have NM hunts which is just kind of there to remind you they exist. Then the altar bosses which is also just reminding you that this activity exists. Finally 7 trials wins, but they arent just throwing you head first into trials of osiris no. Its 7 trials wins but without the main difficulty of trials, that difficulty being a card that you have a limited amount of loses on. Meaning all you have to do is get 7 wins with infinite chances and every win counts forever, as well as the fact that you will be matched with other people on 0 win cards. You could look at this as both a dip of the toe into end game PVP content aswell as a reminder of "hey this gamemode exists". But the most common misconception is that they are forcing people into end end game pvp, which is simply not true. Due to the matchmaking of trials the earlier in the card you are the easier your games. And all the end end game parts of trials are taken away except for the LL enabled part.

2 RepliesEdited by Sweet Lew 88: 8/19/2020 7:15:10 PMProbably to push people out of their comfort zone. Probably to make the white armor glow more exclusive and possibly sell more colored armor glow. At least you have three weeks left to get it. 7 wins isn't too many. Do you want PvP tips? I usually don't play trials, but started because of the MMXX seal. I've been having fun. I can usually average 1 win per card with anyone from LFG. 4 wins is my record, done on three cards.

Because Bungie has always had an obsession with the number 7
