When people comment on (and check) the forums daily, but supposedly they’ve “quit” playing, I never used to believed them. And now I’m one of those people... I check the forums every day in hopes to hear that the decision to sunset weapons has been reversed. Nothing yet. It’s hard to believe that a game that I’ve loved (and made so many friends through) is likely coming to an end. I loved this game so much, but now that I’m losing all my weapons (and destinations/ raids/ other content) I have a hard time seeing why I would stick around. I’m all for re-living the nostalgia of VoG, but I’m not okay with losing other raids at its expense (especially when I can pop in D1 and run it with fatebringer/ doctrine/ Gally/ icebreaker/ etc.). I get that I’ll still have my weapons, but they will only be good for quick play. Pretty soon, they will be under leveled for even basic activities like patrols. I understand the “we’re trying to make room” argument, but I’d rather hand over 60$ and keep my content. This is the first season in a long time where I have no motivation to play. And why would I? Once the dungeon is complete, there’s no reason to keep playing - the handful of new weapons did not impress, and there is a fancy new watermark to remind me that the countdown to extinction has already begun. My friends and I are debating whether or not we want the next expansion. Maybe we will log in a few more times to enjoy the guns we worked hard to get and to have a few more laughs at Calus’ expense before he drifts off into the sun. But I guess I’ll have to keep checking the forums, everyday until September, hoping for what we all want.
