Ok so this is going to be a breakdown of the Contact public event and what to look for.
1. The boss
It rotates weekly and consists or 3 ultra taken enemies.
Taken incinerator that sheilds itself, you must destroy the blights to drop the shield. This is basically the guy from festering core.
The taken ogre is basically a tank, but after a certain point... Wizards will appear around him and start healing him constantly unless you kill them, basically the ogre from EP.
The Knight...
This guy is always shielded unless his smaller counterpart is near him.
I'll say that again
NEAR HIM.
Seriously bring them together people. They are basically the taken knight and hive knight from court of oryx.
2. The bloom.
After a certain point the pyramid will fire out a lazer at a certain area, you must kill the 2 guards and 1 champion.
Once done you should bank it for a boost in progress.
HOWEVER
For the love of F*** if you see someone duplicating the bloom, do not pick it up and bank it.
You are literally massive scumbags.
3. Phases.
So after you reach a certain phase the bank will lock down and taken enemies will attack it.
These consists of taken minors, majors, ultras and champions.
Take these out to open the bank.
Be careful of the acolytes eyes that spawn above the bank.
4. This is a VERY important point.
Do not attempt this alone or without at least 4 people.
You can do it with 3 high levels but it's so chaotic you need the extra help and extra bullet sponges.
This can get difficult if you aren't careful as you can be swarmed by up to 5 ultras.
This isn't a good thing.
5.
Motes.
We've played gambit
You know what to do.
And that's all you need to know.
Hope this helps
Edit for all the people upset I called those people scumbags.
I've don't it far to many times and almost every time some idiot does it.
So I honestly don't care.
They are scumbags to me.

Thanks for the info, this is helpful. I didn’t even know the bloom could be duplicated. What does that even mean anyway? Really this is yet another “kill waves” activity that has to be explained by players to players instead of making sense to begin with.

4 RepliesEdited by blade329: 6/30/2020 3:45:42 PMIt's just another confusing horde mode that I have to go outside the game to have someone explain what to do. Typical bs that Destiny 2 is. After 15-20 minutes of getting flinched, stomped (of course) and killed, I get a little bit of glimmer, two planetary materials and some blue loot. Maybe, an Umbral engram. Somebody, pinch me.
For the love of F*** if you see someone duplicating the bloom,
What does this even mean? What is "duplicating the bloom"?

Dude did that twice while I was duping it Sent a quick message telling him to quit and he never did it again Most annoying thing is still the knights
-
1 ReplyYou are calling people scumbags because you want to cheat and they don't want to. You are the scumbag playing the game of the way it's supposed to be played do not cheat
-
6 RepliesI fight back with my own scumbagginess, personally. Difference is mine works a hell of a lot better than theirs. If I see someone shadowing me to pick up soon as I dupe, I just make sure to grab all the blooms and never dunk a single one so it doesn't even go heroic. I've got plenty of time so if you want to be a dick I'll return the favor right back double.

1 ReplyI love it when I'm duping the ball just for some tool to come stand next to me, pick it up and dunk it once... Then run off like he's the man! They get messages sent direct to them so they know how awesome they are!
-
1 ReplyTips: Let someone who knows how to dupe grab the ball. Done.
-
1 ReplyAnd remember that 1000 voices is one of the best weapons for the activity

6 RepliesEdited by THE GRIND IS REAL: 6/29/2020 12:44:29 PMToo many a times I have done this an someone pics the bloom of the floor whilst I'm duplicating it to only put it in the once so annoying ,if I ever see others doing it I always throw a healing rift down at the machine or a shield depending on class so their protected whilst they work their magic real teamwork lol but thank you for the advice normally i have no problem with completing the event but was unaware on exactly how to get the shields down I normally jst kill all high levels until it's down an then spam everything at the boss

Rule number 1..sit back with a bow and think your helping.
-
Those damn scumbags....seriously, EVERY DAMN TIME!!!
-
35 RepliesYou didn't once mention Champion Mods. So I will. Use the f*cking Champion Mods. I'm getting fed up of being the only person using any and having to switch between 3 weapons constantly to stop the Overloads and Anti-Barriers from regenning all of their life. I understand this very basic and assumed mechanic can be tricky but it is so simple even a cow with downsyndrome can understand, yet people who play Destiny cannot grasp the idea of them and keep shooting an Anti-Barrier with his shield up with a Hammerhead and wondering why all the bullets keep bouncing off. I haven't once completed a Heroic Contact Event because of all the r*tards who can't grasp any of what you said, or what Champions are and how to deal with them.

Also if running with only 3 people have one run trinity ghoul with the masterwork say goodbye to trash mobs

Seriously bring them together people. They are basically the taken knight and hive knight from court of oryx.
I don't know why it took people so long to figure this out.
For the love of F*** if you see someone duplicating the bloom, do not pick it up and bank it.
Had no idea this was a thing. I see people dropping it on the ground. I assumed it was for some reason but didn't know why. How is this done?

4 RepliesPro-Tip: Spiny Sword + Oppressive Darkness nade = SEEYA!!!!!!
-
First bloom (point 2), you just need to kill the boss not the other 2 bodyguard. If you are good with sword just stick it up the boss and take the bloom to the bank. Also, don't be a scvmbag.
-
No thanks it shit anyway. Just like everything bunghole has come up with

Contact public event tip 6. Don't bother ;)

HOWEVER For the love of F*** if you see someone duplicating the bloom, do not pick it up and bank it. You are literally massive scumbags.
Didn't even know that was a thing... but now that I do, I'll be sure to pick it up and bank it asap. Why? Because I think cheesers are the scumbags. Makes me happy to mess up their garbage AND... I don't give a rat's hiney what your opinion of me is for that. GO ahead, send a nasty message.... you'll get reported to both Bungie and PSN. Have a nice day

Before they put these pointless tips on the loadscreen, people have been asking for actual useful tips explaining "simple" mechanics for years. But the genius in charge decided we needed to know that you can visit the tower. They could even give players 3 options (WHAT? OPTIONS!?) to select; Novice tips, Advanced tips or Lore.
-
People who dupe the Bloom are the real MvPs. They help us all get to the boss quicker only for us to fail anyway because 80% of people can't read text on the left side of their screen.
-
2 RepliesMaking a tips post but not knowing that the Wizards spawn in as soon as the Ogre does...
-
10 RepliesOnly reason I take a bloom someone is abusing the dup glitch for is when they banked it like 20 times ... Only need 6.

#5’s instructions make me want to run into a screeb spawn. I’ve played far too many gambit matches to expect any level of mote efficiency competence from teammates. It’s literally the objective in the game and yet everyone still manages to find a ridiculous way to lose the motes they insist on hoarding so they can spawn a taken knight. The most popular method of losing motes I’ve seen is hunting down an invader yourself. Never avoiding or running but always making it your personal mission to find the invader and lose your motes to them. There’s always one...

4 RepliesTo be fair, a lot of people don't know that you can duplicate the Bloom.
