When it was introduced, I felt like I was back in the good old days of D1 (before the infamous April Update that is.) Warlocks were busted, Titans were busted, and Hunters were busted. Although HHSN had a problem. It would damage the user and allies if they were too close. Bungie said it was a bug and fixed it. Why did you not only, slow down the animation and have a short window to throw it, but also bring back the self damage? We only have had one 1KO ability in Destiny and it self damages? But hunters get throwing knives and titans get AOE ground slams and shoulder charge? How is that fair?
Nova Warp is the only roaming super that you have to charge up. So, it can easily gets out classed by any roaming super. If you were running away from it, there's almost no way you'd catch up while charging and slowing down. You took away the refill abilities upon activation, which is useful in a really tight situation when you couldn't risk charging up your super. Aside from warping, the mobility from slowly hovering leaves you wide open. Pretty much anything that gave the tree a slight edge or had tactful use was nerfed or taken away. You don't have to buff the tree into mega god form, because it would just get nerfed again. But just tweak it some so it's not a liability. It's a fun tree, but right now it's pretty much an add control super and that's it.
Edit:
Also, with Gambit and PVE game modes, HHSN is a liability too. One add can run in front of you or you character can nick the edge of a wall and BOOM, you're dead.

Yea every now and then I damage myself with the hhsn but for the most part I use against people who rush me after I run for cover and blink and super blink is the way to go with the super period. You have to pick the best scenarios when using the super. I usually normal blink in the air the pop it and then super blink after to get me in range, you need to use the super blink as much as you need in order to not get killed during the super. If I don't use blink I can still use my hhsn to get plenty kills. You charge it then cancel it if the timing isn't right by double pressing the weapon change button which will bring you back to what ever weapon you were using prior to starting the charge up. It's an art and the crucible is my canvas. And now that there is the necrotic grip is here the melee is a 1hit for most opps.

more so now than ever we need a rebuff to this if not just a fix, half the time people either suicide rush me, it wont kill them outright for some BS reason, or just pointless to use cus throwing knife and shoulder charge is way better and easier to use
-
Yes stop neutering Warlocks across the board

I just wish it was viable in PvE! Once again, cool and fun PvE things getting nerfed into irrelevance thanks to PvP.
-
Frankly, make it viable anywhere, it is just completely worthless.

Edited by DiZ: 6/22/2020 2:09:29 PMFor PvP, Voidwalker nades in general need a buff. For the Nova Warp Super specifically, I truly believe all it needs is a better radius/significantly less damage drop off on uncharged blasts(you could even call them light attacks). Just the other day, I tried it out again and popped it in Survival and pushed someone I already knew was a little damaged. I got within just a few meters, eating a few shots on the way while dodging with teleports. I think I was close enough that a Rapid-Fire frame Shotgun could probably ohk a normal Guaridan. With all of that, I figured a light attack would kill them. Instead, I only did just slightly over a hundred damage, and proceeded to be finished off by their Shotgun since I can't attack or teleport immediately after attacking. I thought that charging up fully would be a waste of time and Super energy for one person, but no, charged blasts are the only way to reliably get kills with the Super in my experience. No other roaming Super has that problem. The worst that the others may have is bad hit registration every now and then, though that mainly applies to the melee Supers(as melees themselves can have bad hit reg.; even Swords and Shoulder Charges).

2 RepliesYet spectral blades are still overpowered... Bungie is still useless when it comes to balance.

1 ReplyEdited by RussellMania: 6/22/2020 12:14:53 AMMiddle tree voidwalker is hands down the most mishandled subclass tree in the Destiny franchise. Busted, nerfed into the ground, re-buffed but still lacking, nerfed info the ground again, re-buffed to mediocrity again, nerfed info the ground a third time. You don’t have to look any further than middle tree voidwalker to see the PvP team’s incompetence.

6 RepliesEdited by Funky Osiris: 6/21/2020 11:44:21 AMNova warp should destroy a super( all supers) in 1 fully charged hit .
-
1 ReplyIt just needs an armor piece that increases it's time.
-
While you're at it, can Voidwalker grenades be useful period? Scatters are a crapshoot while Axion can be outrun or may not even track properly. Vortex is decent, but still has a problem of enemies simply running through it or it outright bumps enemies outside of the AoE. Little point in using the base grenades. You're better off overcharging them (top), use HHSN (middle), or use Devour (bottom).

1 ReplyYou should know by now bungie doesn't care about warlocks threads
-
3 RepliesIt is if you're good with it. I run it in Trials and I have no trouble getting up to 6 wins multiple times each week

10 RepliesI had hoped with a buff to the supers armor and an energy decrease on the teleport that it would be in a much better spot. It's not like a bad super...its unfortunately just not capable of being a top tier super unless they break it. I think a big part of that comes from its vulnerable charging power attack, it's very idle moving animation and just the crappiness of being exclusively aoe. It's really easy to headshot and its attack animations don't do shit to help it out like it does with say striker or spectral blades plus pair that with destiny 2's latency ridden servers and you've got a super bound to fail. It's like how grenade launchers are complete hit or miss weapons and the rng of them killing even with direct hits is not enough to warrant their use outside of mountain top. I think its potential is there to be good, I'm just not sure what else to do to it. Improving its charge speed doesn't stop it from dying and movement speed won't do much either. It probably needs an actual light attack to be more useful.

5 RepliesThis is still the class I switch to when I need to complete grenade kills bounties, easy to have 4-8 nade kills a game. Yes, some of them will be trades now, after a nerf, but whatever, HHSN still shreds.
-
Sad that a subclass that was designed to flourish in the crucible is now just a placeholder. Nothing will be done as they are moving on now. Gotta get ready for those darkness subclasses. Bet those turn out to be some stinkers. They will be used though as you know "darkness"
-
You right hhsn is trash, so is contraverse hold, and Nova warp. Bungie is trash at balancing. Thought that was obvious though.
-
17 RepliesIve been saying this for a while buddy Bungie doesnt like to rebuff things they had to kill for the sake of "balance". Look at the auto buff all autos got buffed except 450s bc they were broken in year 1.
-
1 ReplyThis sounds more like a strategy problem, remember you are playing humans who are calculating & not brain dead npcs. You want the kills, then set it up.
-
1 ReplyNo I have PTSD from Forsaken because of it.
-
Maybe not a powerful as it was, but yes it needs a buff
-
2 RepliesWhat is HHSN?
-
I think the super is a bit weak but still has potential especially in casual environment in pvp. The melee is insanely strong though! Hhsn thankfully isn’t OP anymore though 💀
-
8 RepliesWhat's wrong with it? I still see tons of ppl use it. It's a guaranteed 2 kills at least every time. It's no worse than any other roaming super.
