Logged on today, and I didn’t even get past the loading screen to the tower knowing anything I do the game now is useless and a waste of my time because bungie wants to take your gear away and resell it to you later👍 like why would I play or support a game that doesn’t respect my time and effort I put into it? Why would I give a company my money when they don’t respect my time I spend using their product? Cause -blam!- YOU GIVE ME MONEY! 👈That’s why!
Destiny isn’t the only looter shooter with pvp...
Other looter shooters have the same system and NEVER SUNSET every year let alone every two months! I can log on to Division and use my Centurion I got back in 2016 and use it in end game strongholds and darkzone pvp. This is very crude system they are bringing back that tells me they don’t care about my experience, they want my money and to please Youtubers not hardcore fans. Horrible.
It’s absolutely atrocious the people defending sunsetting because there isn’t enough variety in used weapons. LOL 😆 And they use this argument to defend sunsetting OMG you guys wont have to worry about using new weapons because EVERYONE will be using the SAME LOADOUT. So forget variety in the next season. “This isn’t anything new it was in D1” is equivalent to saying “Covid 19 isn’t anything new we had the flu before.” TOTAL ASININE defense of this mechanic. I’m a Day 1 D1 player so I know whats happened I was there and let me tell you, it’s not fun being able to know the majority of people’s load outs by simply knowing what DLC your in.
You destroyed the trust you’ve built over the past year. I don’t trust you anymore with my entertainment as I’d get more enjoyment out of Saturday cartoons then me wasting my time on a game that doesn’t respect that time invested. WE DONT NEED MORE POWERFUL OP WEAPONS!!!! STOP! The past 6 years the whole goal was “BALANCE” and now they want to change that and say -blam!- it, make everything OP. Guess what you morons at bungie?; when EVERYTHING is POWERFUL then NOTHING is POWERFUL.
You’ve managed to do it again Bungie. You’ve managed to piss off your player base, ruin player trust, and force me to turn away from the game I love because of GREED, shitty business practices and catering to YouTubers and streamers.
But hey, the love of money is the root of all evil.

Your actions have been pointless since at least the end of D1 when Bungie threw away all your progress and reset your game to 0. The one maxim you can bank on: Bungie lies.

12 RepliesThey have killed all reason to grind anything out anymore and don’t forget RNG is against you the whole time too, it could takes months to get something great and in a short amount of time it’s worthless. Just a complete slap in the face to all the time sacrificed. The fun if there ever was any in D2 is gone.

1 ReplyPut your controller down and go outside. Or you’re grounded.

Edited by Freak: 5/18/2020 4:08:50 PMI don’t like sun setting either but playing video games is in fact purposely wasting time. Unless you get paid to do so.

3 RepliesI mean, there’s fun... you could play for fun instead of needing to be rewarded for playing a game. imagine if people had this mindset back in the eighties; gaming would never have taken off at all...
-
7 RepliesThat's why the loading screen is 25 minutes long. To give you time to contemplate your misguided decision

16 Replies😂 I'm laughing because everyone that is for sunsetting saying "you can't keep using the same weapons for years", yet they have been for 5 years now 😂 So, when you guys get your 100th hand cannon that is reskinned for the hundredth time. Let me know how well that worked out for you. I would really like to see "how different it is" than last year's hand cannons that will drop hundreds of times in all activities. You know, because this game doesn't have anywhere near enough hand cannons.

1 ReplyJust feels bad to play now that we know what's coming.
-
1 ReplyThe only reason I play this game still is because it’s the only game i have in common with some of my good friends
-
1 ReplyI stop playing Destiny right after a read the TWAB. I got Kommodo right before that and i played with friends in order to get Not Forgotten, the TWAB killed my mood.
-
2 RepliesSimply avoid this game and avoid these people. You'll be happier, richer and wiser.

5 RepliesNothing we do matter. If you don't go down in history your name will be forgotten after 4 generations in average. And all your achievements will be forgotten along with you. All you've left will eventually crumble into dust. Open your mind to the void.

1 ReplyEdited by MEGANAUTe: 5/18/2020 7:01:04 AMIt’s hard. I think I’ll play until they start sunsetting. Milking the weapons I worked for.

2 RepliesAren’t you excited about playing in all blue gear again since can’t use all the legendary gear you worked hard for. I know I’m excited, can’t wait. It’ll be so much fun.🤮

I mean that's the same complaint of many I give with the story. I don't play because all the weapons in this game have been pretty dull and not worth the time alongside there's been zero reason this season to play so I can see where you're coming from.
-
Just wait. It’ll happen to exotics too eventually.

2 RepliesBungie has stated in the past that they cannot keep up with the workload of having a vendor refresh every year as well as a bunch of new guns every year. It wasn’t that long ago that they said that kind of pace wasn’t realistic for them and they actually referenced that season of the drifter, black armory, and season of opulence was too stressful for them.... yet here people like you are saying you don’t even know how many guns they are going to release..... honestly it will probably be somewhere around five new guns a season and a whole bunch of old guns thrown in as well. This is what they have been doing since shadowkeep which by the way was the SMALLEST yearly dlc to date. They haven’t been releasing much content this year and their excuse was once again.... we cannot keep up with the model we had before shadowkeep and it was too stressful on our developers. This was their whole reason for shifting to the current model.... well that and money but as I was saying. I should take this time to mention that Forsaken, Season of the drifter, black armory, and season of opulence all put together added less content than The Taken King did back in destiny 1. In the taken King we experienced gear retirement but what came with it was an across the board refresh to every vendor in the game. This included crucible, vanguard, new monarchy, Dead orbit, Future War Cult, Iron Banner, Trials of Osiris, Prison of elders, Petra Venj..... those were just the vendors. We also got all new strike specific loot, all new exotic quests, all new world drops, and a bunch of new exotic weapons and armor. That is why the taken King was ok but this is not. Bungie will not be able to do that kind of update to weapons and armor every single year considering we have had the same set of iron banner weapons since forsaken, the same set of vanguard weapons since forsaken, the same set of crucible weapons since forsaken, and the same set of gambit weapons since forsaken. They did add a few more weapons for gambit prime and reckoning but that came in a different dlc and it was the only weapons they released for that dlc..... unless they take the taken king approach to this(which they won’t) this will only piss off and alienate their community after this falls flat on its face.....

Yes. Sunsetting our things is just a poor way for an excuse to reskin the equipment and call it new. It will feel mostly the same and handle the same as the things we have now. They just want us to grind more (like we haven't grinded enough with pointless quests, like the quest for being able to get rewards in Iron Banner, Bunker Buster, Seraph Tower etc...)
-
12 RepliesMany of us grinded for year 1 items knowing that they become useless and many of us also enjoyed it.
-
2 RepliesWrong from start to finish. 1. Sunsetting gear is Loot Game Design 101. Bungie should have done this years ago, and many of the game’s current problems are because they didnt. 2. The point of a loot game is the fun of the chase. Not clutching to the loot forever once you have it. 3. The issue you’re running into is one every player who is strongly loot-motivated runs into. Every game eventually runs out of things to chase, and has to take power away from you to protect the game. Such players either have to re-examine their motivations, or leave these kinds of games and then come back when there is new stuff to chase and trophies to win. 4. The players who last and can play these kinds of games continuously are actually gameplay motivated. They (me) actually enjoy playing the game itself...and the loot are just TOYS that allow us to experience the game in different ways. So when the games takes away one set of toys, we have fun hunting down the new set and getting to see what they do.

4 RepliesYou seem like the kind of person who needs instant gratification so im not suprised youd be upset
-
1 ReplyDid you think you were playing to cure cancer or something before?
-
7 RepliesWhy play any game then? Why play the newest COD? Why play the Cyberpunk when it releases? Its going to last a year or 2 and then you will stop playing it. Destiny retirement is no different.

Do you listen to a song to get to the end of the song? Or read a book to say you’ve finished the book?
-
1 ReplySunsetting might be fine if we didn't have extremely grindy quests like mountaintop and extremely poor drop rates for decent weapons + perks and armor + stats. Sunsetting in the games current state means the grind factor vs the amount of content will be too high. Sunsetting is really just a way to keep selling the same stuff over and over. We chase a meaningless light level why not sell us the same weapons over and over. There's a lot of weapons I don't like and won't use and I don't care how meta they become. If one thing has become apparent its that they don't want to make real content for the game. They only want to have people do the same stuff 1000's of times. Take this 9 million tower public event quest step.
