I thought I was in the minority bc I didn't and don't feel any need to spend time upgrading the bunkers. I explicitly do not use any artifact mod that utilize cells and other than jumping in an random active seraph tower event I do nothing related to this season
Apparently only like 10% of players actually have focused on doing the season things bc like myself there is no compelling reason to do them.
I made it to 1000 light fairly quickly. Have gotten plenty of good and exotic drops from the regular activities and prefer to run the forge and menagerie to farm drops.
From the online chatter this season has been pretty much a waste.
Even trials has lost its luster from what I hear...I don't do pvp so that's not what this post is about.

just hope bungie stop make game for casuals
-
Your missing out... cells are some of the best additions made in a while... the charged with light mods last season were great to
-
Not even. The Warmind Cells are the only thing keeping me interested in this season.

Edited by TheArtist: 4/7/2020 11:37:54 AMWarmind cells are actually the extremely powerful and versatile once you activate them and have a good build. The problem is that Bungie failed to do a stream that showed us what they were capable of....and locked them behind WAY too much grinding for very little reward. It basically is a three week grind (if you only have one character) before you start to see any sort of reward form the core pve content this season. I’m not surprised—though I am sad—-that people are getting frustrated and losing interest. Loot incentive is being strained to the breaking point this season. The content is tilting with all the ability spam, and the rewards are paltry.

23 RepliesEdited by shirley timple: 4/6/2020 10:34:42 PMThe warmind cells are a trap. They want you to discard your arsenal of weapons for inferior weapons with the CHANCE to drop cells. Cells that require not only Seraph guns, but mods on both your artifact and armor in order to be most effective. That's 3 different layers of requirement to have a weapon that inconsistently performs on par with your existing arsenal of guns. This is how they plan on getting people to support their terrible weapon retirement bullshit. Don't fall for it. "That's just Destiny with extra steps"

Here's the problem, as I see it... I KNOW warmind cells (and other seasonal mods) CAN be very powerful. I just DON'T CARE, because it deviates so far from what Destiny is to me, and requires far too much investment in a system I'm simply not interested in. Destiny has always been about feeling good, every shot, every second sprinting, every jump, it's about the feel. To interact with these mods for a momentary boost in power, we have to sacrifice that FEEL. The mods are ridiculously expensive, their armor and elemental placements enforce yet another barrier to entry, and then tying the whole system to some of the most underwhelming weapons I've ever seen... I mean, come on now... I don't want to play with garbage guns to have an RNG dice roll at interacting with some momentarily powerful perk. I don't want to have to throw my stats in the toilet so I can TRY to access that momentary power. I don't want to change the muscle memory I've gained through literal years invested in this game, to dabble with momentary power. I'm just not fricking interested. It's not Destiny to me. I didn't start playing Destiny to theory craft builds, or juggle mods. I played Destiny because it felt good. It was simple enough to jump into, and allowed for slight min maxing, or other RPG mechanics, but didn't push them. Now that premise has been turned on its head to chase Smith's dreams of his glory days in OTHER games. I don't want those other games, if I did, I'd fricking play them instead! I'd have given THOSE games my money and time, not Destiny. Be it Halo, WoW, CoD, or any other game that people and Bungie have tried to shove the square peg of Destiny into their rounds holes, I don't want them. I want Destiny, and these systems, though interesting to some (who more than likely were interested in other more involved games long before coming to destiny) and potentially powerful, are simply NOT Destiny. I was running around today with some buds, and they are happily swallowing up this new system, hook line and sinker. Or so they say... Because the whole time we played, they pissed and moaned about how inconsistent the mods were behaving, how cells seemed to only drop in the last ad of a pack, how becoming charged with light with blueberries around was a PITA, etc... Yet whenever the conversation turned to my thoughts on the system, they defended it vehemently. It's gotten to the point where there's some level of ire towards me and my stubbornness about not engaging with this shiny new turd of a build system. I want everyone to have fun with Destiny, but I also don't want to see them turn Destiny into something it never was, just to scratch the itch they can get scratched elsewhere. For the love of all that is good and kind in the world, Bungie, please stop trying to change Destiny into something it's not, and make it fill shoes it never will. Let Destiny, be Destiny. That's when it is at its greatest. Not when it's pretending to be more than it is. A final thought on the mod system. Much like weapon retirement, knowing these mods are time limited, makes me not want to bother. What's the point in making a fun build, when in a couple seasons I know I've got to throw it in the trash? Sure it could be fun today, but I'll always be thinking about how much it'll suck when you take it away tomorrow, so why even fricking bother, today? I know all the tired arguments, power creep, balance issues, Dev time wasted on testing, blah blah blah. I understand the reality of these mods/systems. I just don't care. And that's the real problem. Myself and many others, just don't care. Until Bungie can find a way to make us care, they are just wasting their time, trying to chase after the ever elusive audiences of other games, while simultaneously pushing players like me out. In the end, it's a lose lose for Bungie, and all of us as players, no matter the side of the fence we sit on.

I don’t have the patience to save up 250 coins for 1 of the 8 upgrades in the 3rd row of 4 rows. That’s a good 8-9 Hours of non stop grinding. Dosnt seem worth it considering if it will get nerfed or retired
-
3 RepliesUnlocking the bunkers is easy though. I got the moon bunker unlocked and upgraded on day 1 in 5 minutes. It takes about 3300 warmind bits, I had 3500. Daily rasputin bounties give me 54 bits, weekly's are just over 100, lost sectors give 8, legend lost sectors 22, strikes give 30. You get 20-30 per match Right now I have 7322 bits, I dont see this being a problem. You get a pinnacle piece of gear when you fully upgrade. If that isn't motivation enough I dont know what to say
-
I haven’t don’t anything with the bunkers. Bounty grinding isn’t content. It’s boring as hell.
-
3 RepliesYour not in the minority thats for sure, honestly its because this seasons weapon/mods suck. This seasons gimic is warmind cells which are kinda cool on paper, but then they freaking gut it by having it only work with sereph weapons. coming off the coat tails of season of the dawn, this season just blows.
-
Yeah i really don't feel any real need to do any of the seasonal stuff, meanwhile this time last season i'd done half the stuff required for the seal already
-
I honestly couldn't care less about my bunkers. I upgraded all the towers last season but I'll be -blam!-ed if I can be bothered doing the same dull rubbish to even finish my edz bunker.
-
Word. Haven’t bothered to put time into any of the weapons or artifact past weapon mods for champions.
-
2 RepliesSo what is your point? Just seems like crying for no reason.
-
I think they were a cool idea and the definitely open up some build diversity but I just wish they would have continued with the charged with light mods.

2 RepliesThe Warmind Cells are extremely powerful and you're missing out by not using them. In fact, they're so powerful that I learned the hard way not to use them during the final encounter of GoS. One of them detonating destroys one of the weak points on the Sanctified Mind, accidentally opening the portal and all that. They're very helpful in many PvE activities, just not advisable on that one because of unintended consequences. As far as upgrading the bunkers is concerned, I haven't done a single Warmind bounty in weeks, and both of my bunkers have been fully upgraded for a while. Including today when the Io bunker opens, it will be fully upgraded immediately, just the same as the Moon bunker was for me. As soon as the Warmind Bit Generation was unlocked on the EDZ bunker, I quickly amassed so many Warmind Bits that bounties no longer mattered. As of right now, I'm sitting on more than 5k bits, and I believe it's something like 3060 to fully upgrade a bunker if you make sure to buy the cost reduction upgrades first. So if you haven't upgraded the bunkers fully, you just haven't played enough. Unfortunately, I have to agree that the bunkers feel rather pointless outside of getting the mods from them. There has been no story progression from day 1 of the season. It's been a snoozefest and barely feels like there's a season happening. But thank god I didn't have to do that many bounties to earn almost 10k bits. Just playing crucible did the work for me.

3 RepliesRage of the Warmind and the Overshield mod are actually very handy. I've found it works best without using any exotics. Overshield, Rage, Suppression, Tyrant Surge, and either Lightning Strikes Twice or Strength of Rasputin (extra damage to enemies near cells) will wipe entire platoons. If only people would stop blowing them up just because.
-
2 RepliesI’ve been upgrading them little by little took me 6 days for earth bunker and about 4 days for the moon bunker . It was cool . I didn’t burn myself out like a lot of players trying to get it done in a day . I have about 2600 saved up from just Grinding the nightfall this week lol . So upgrading this one should be easy .

1 ReplyThe Warmind cells are a neat concept but, like all things Bungie, they’re executed poorly. Perhaps a chance on hit to spawn would make them more likeable and even a seasonal mod to spawn them on ability kills could be helpful. If Bungo doesn’t want to increase the spawn chances then, at the very least, have them explode on their own once they expire. The cells themselves are very nice and I’m growing fond of the suppression cells but getting them to spawn is the disappointing part.

10 RepliesThe reason why I'm not overly concern about the Warmind Cell mods are the weapons themselves. Never been a fan of Sidearms and SMGs And ever since they moved shotguns around at the start of Year 2 (I miss Perfect Paradox as a Heavy with elemental damage), I haven't gone out of my way to use them While the AR is nice, I hate the scope as it cuts down on my FoV so I find myself switching back to other ARs in order to see what is happening around me. Can't say anything about the Service Revolver or the SAW as I have not gotten either one yet. However of these two, it's the SAW that I'm more interesting in trying since we're finally getting a LMG that's not a bullet hose.

I don't care for any of the seasonal armor mods for the most part cause they cost energy. Why would I waste 4+ energy on my armor for mods that only really effect PvE. The seasonal mod that boosts my mobility by 20 is really the only one I use. Lol. Artifact mods for weapons I use, since they don't cost anything but a mod slot. The only artifact armor mods I really use are Flare-up and Inferno Whip and the past season mods that made our grenades debuff mobs. They are too situational for me to re-work my entire armor mod loadout. If they cost no energy or 1 energy max I'd be more willing to work them into my loadout. At least this season's mods should cost like no energy. Since they are so specific to this season's weapons (most of which are meh) and are pretty much exclusively PvE related.
-
I got a great auto rifle from the bounties and that's all I wanted. None of my bunkers are fully upgraded and I doubt I'll touch the Io one much.
-
2 RepliesThe artifact will be a failure as long as you have to equip the mods on weapons and armour. I believe that the mod should just carry them as equipped mods. As it stand SMGS absolutely struggle without some mods such as counterbalance and extended mag.
-
I dont do arena or towers event at all. They suck.
-
Warmind cells lol. That’s mods I’ll never use. Balls spawning from kills doesn’t seem interesting at all idgaf if they are powerful or not. Enough with the stupid gimmicks and mods already. Make some fun content, with interesting environments and cool bosses who don’t stomp.
