[spoiler]This isn't necessarily a fan-fiction. It is a part of a larger one. (70 pages) But it is not intended to be a fan-fiction. Its just something I wrote that fits well into the current destiny universe and I thought I'd share it with the forums. Think of it as a mentor giving you a heart to heart lesson. I hope you enjoy. [/spoiler] The tales we hear as children would have us believe that every story is black and white, with a clear line between them. Dividing the good and evil. Our story, however, is not so simple. Our world is grey, and the lines are blurred between each hue. The universe would still see us walk these lines and stay put. Tracing it with our finger like an artist measuring his work. But we are not artists, we are warriors. The light we walk in is our tool and weapon. Digging and scraping away the lines, making our own destinies, writing our own endings. We carve our names into the stone of history, lest we be forgotten. Destined to drift through time as myths and legends of a time long sense past. A time of heroes and villains. Of dragons and magic. Of suffering and triumph. Of gods and god slayers, of life and death. Our memories are deep, and we will not soon forget what we have done to ensure that our people, our legacy, live on. So I speak to you, my warriors risen, chosen of the Traveler, Aegis of the Last City. When our time nears its end, when our light fades as the Traveler leaves to find new worlds across the cosmos, we will not be forgotten by history. We have made sure of that. Humanity will live on in our stead. Even as we take our last breath, as our ghosts go on to tell our stories to new generations. Our descendants will live on. But such a time where warriors and god slayers are not needed is far from the horizon. So we will carve on against the ceaseless dark with our tools and weapons until that day comes! Until we warriors can finally sleep! Until our journey reaches its end. This is our creed! Words that will inspire generations of light bearers. Words that will be woven into songs of bravery and victory! Words to be written in every book and speech! Hear them, and let them empower you, let them mold you. And one day, you will stand where I stand. And you will speak these words to those that follow you. May they hear them true, as you have. [spoiler]This is something I wrote for one of my larger projects and my Clan's creed. I thought it was general enough for everyone to get something out of it. Whether its a little inspiration to go shoot aliens in the face or to go flawless in Trials. On a more sentimental note, if you read each word, thank you. I put a lot of thought into this particular piece and chose each word deliberately. I sincerely hope that you get something from this. Destiny kind of lacks a certain emotional element to it.
