Will Bungie reply to the reactions about the weapon reitirement?

We appreciate everyone's feedback on this and we'll make sure to share the community's thoughts with the team. We'll give you more details as we get closer to rolling out these changes.

Why should they? They’ve said everything that they need to. Everyone who makes calls up there got together and decided it was better for the state of the game of weapon retirement was enabled. I wouldn’t be surprised if they expected complaining, considering that’s all we ever do here. As mad as people will be for some time, the change is probably going to be better for the long run.

If Bungie don't rescue Destiny, their next IP Matter will fail badly and I'll tell you why. Destiny brought alot of Bungie fans from the Halo era, alot of loyal players, players who knew what Bungie could do and bought into their "vision" for Destiny. But that loyalty has been severely tested over and over till breaking point, the biggest issue is that Bungie have failed to listen to its wider community repeatedly. Whilst at the same time giving out contradictory statements again and again. So Bungie will have a huge cloud over them with any future titles, especially as they've shown themselves to be completely ignorant of the community en mass. They're hoping Trials will but them some time, get the pvp community back onside, unfortunately that's going to fail, especially on PC with Bungies inability to deal with cheats effectively. Even before trials was announced, it was pointed out that Trials needs to be put behind a pay wall. As for legendary weapons, I guess Bungie doesn't want us to play however we wish, with what weapons we want to use, they bemoan meta eras, yet they're just adding to it.

They did in last week's TWAB: "we take no joy in nerfing the abilities, weapons, and armor." I wouldn't expect anymore from them on it honestly. Meanwhile, Luke Smith, IMO, severely miscalculated by releasing this info way to early, buzz killing the final two seasons of Y3.

My thoughts is that I’ve played close to 3000 hrs of d2. And several hundred dollars on game and expansions. Once I know the Cleveland steam roller is getting dropped. I’m out. These shisters aren’t going to do anything until October. They want all the tendies from new annual pass sales before the drop the news.

5 RepliesNo, they've decided this is the way were going and damn all the feedback, this is EXACTLY what happened with double primaries, 4vs4 only pvp and long cooldowns that killed the game at vanialla d2s launch. Hilariously the same people saying "wait and see" back then who were wrong about it and later there was nothing to be done as it was too late are here still repeating thier same awful advice that will once again lead to dissatisfaction and later likely another bungie revert when they bring all the guns back but make us regrind them

How would that make them look? Despite fumbling other features in the past, literally the only credibility they have left lies in the fact that they stick to their plans. Otherwise they would constantly be asking the community for “permission”, in which case why have a dev team at all. Thats just not how you develop a video game, I’m sorry. Do what people used to do before we all became armchair experts, wait for the feature to come out and see how it actually feels before releasing the hounds. Who knows, maybe it won’t actually be that bad.

65 RepliesNo. Smith telling us about it was a COURTESY....so that when it happened it didn't drop like a bolt from the blue. Its also in taking responsibility for making a promise that Bungie has failed (predictably) to honor. But it was not an invitation to debate. This HAS to be done, or else this game will self-destruct....and people will lose their drive to play the game. So the choice is to keep doing what they're doing....and eventually LOSE EVERYONE who plays the game as it lapses into an unplayable state. Or do what HAS to be done....and risk losing some people who refuse to accept that this is both necessary and inevitable. Easy choice, really.

No, they're not. They said they're "listening" to players, which doesn't mean they care about what the players have to say. DE has been doing this for years, just hear the feedback you want to hear, ignore everything else, and occasionally crack down on dissent when it's too loud = problem solved.

24 RepliesY'all are a bunch of haters. Always requesting new content, new weapons and where does it all end up.... In the vault. Which is why this change needs to be made. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to give up all the god rolls I've put time into farming for. But all the work the "team" is working on, to develop content and weapons to only be chucked in the vault because y'all don't deviate what so ever is exactly why this change was made.
