1 ReplyHow long is it going to take to donate 10k, picking up bounties, checking weapons, deleting weapons, emptying the postmaster, getting more bounties, rinse and repeat, people will be sick of it after a few weeks.

This event is the only reason I’m playing this season anymore. I am doing one run of the legend sundial with the new boss to get my triumphs related to inotam. Then I’ve got 12000 fractaline to donate for the last achievement and I’ve gotten my savoir title that’s it that’s all.

This is just a fugazi way to bring in the next season “oh, after x amount of donations the obelisk in the tower resonates a signal that leads to x planet”. Season 10 starts... “guardian, we need you to investigate a signal on x planet”. Next season will happen either way and given the predicted numbers in op post and the current player population I think the max tier will not be hit and bungie will realise their issues are worse than they pretend.

This is assuming they use the same rate of growth across all tiers. Breaking a trillion might be too ridiculous so they might change the scaling on the higher tiers to keep it more attainable but still a challenge after gauging actual player involvement.

If we get to see the live count “hologram” in the tower, at least we can work out an estimate for how many people play/care ourselves. If these numbers are right, you need roughly 3,000,000 players to donate 5000 fractaline to finish the event. But that isn’t the case. We’ll find out more as the event plays, but if there’s at least 4 weeks for players to donate, and we get a sizable tower obelisk bonus, I could see them expecting the average player donating about 15,000. It’s all speculative, but we can get an idea of the actually active player base

Calculated out based on WHAT? The only numbers that Bungie published were the first three, and that's not enough infomation to calculate the remaining four.
