Hold up. If I start the season tomorrow, I don't get to play the new missions with Saint 14 in them?

You think the seasons are bad just think of the new player experience. lol my friend who just started for the first time is immediately landed in the tower blowing that reveal. Has all their skills and every subclass unlocked. Has to keep returning to missions where they strip him of all his skills and subclass just while in the story missions. And he keeps returning and landing on the tower that is supposed to be lost. He knows nobody.... has landed on nearly every planet before even learning how to start the story missions that unlock and introduce the planets and characters. He is bombarded with quests in the quest tab he had no clue what they are even asking for. And he keeps doing strikes where everybody races straight to the end, teleporting him multiple times, before they insta kill a boss that he hasn't a clue why they are even fighting.

Hint. This guy still hasn't played D2 in a while. Just scanned the forums for the most popular complaints. Sad.

Missed the Saint story too. Heard it was awesome, but I will never see it, because YAYYYY FOMO! Bungo completely lost what made D1 great....

Hmm, that is disappointing for people getting into the season late. I don’t know why Saint couldn’t just NOT be in the Tower for people that have not saved him yet. That way they can experience the story this season.

What do you guys think of Saint-14's accent? I find it hilarious but in a bad way. The kind of accent your friend might put on during amateur comedy night and you're a little bit embarrassed for him. We went from Rasputin speaking actual Russian to Saint 14 making funny voices.

Are you *sure* you can't play the Saint story missions anymore? I just checked with my character who hasn't done the missions at Osiris and the "An Impossible Task" is still there. That's the one that leads to the Saint missions eventually. Like, you know you don't get to the story missions right away, but you're sent to other planets first? Unless they cut everything which comes after, idk...

Mods are great but you can’t use them on your best armor unless you did nothing the previous season and the season pass armor is your best rolls. They’re high numbers but mine have poor numbers for what matters like super or grenade. So the armor I grinded in IB from pinnacle drops are better but can’t equip the new seasons mods. So great mods to use if you half trash your build like I did. Epic fail in this department but you do actually own the mods so hopefully they adjust the major oversight of unusable mods that are great. Weapons are great and easily farmable. Excellent perk pools and some really nice weapons. Huge win here. Saint 14 story is brilliant and as Warlock main I’m feeling like playing more Titan. Seeing the 2.0 debacle it’s beyond impossible for me to invest heavy resources into a second character let alone my 3rd. I have my Titan and Hunter ready to roll with an extremely basic armor load out so they’re relegated to strikes and public events etc. Sorry to get off point. Like him as a vendor at the tower and hope to see him, Osiris and the Drifter take it to the plague coming next September. Zavala and company should just sit on their hands as usual and let them fight. Sun Dial activity is ok. Not great and will be viewed as major upgrade over the Vex Offensive that was, well... offensive. It’s half as good as Menagerie but still much better than killing vex for 15 minutes. If you power up those planetary weigh stations you get 4 weapons on completion. So not all bad here. Side arm exotic is nice. I’m a pulse guy so I’m hopeful the pulse will be brilliant. New armor pieces are worthless except the titans. Repeating theme here. Great weapons and crappy armor. Everything else is exactly the same. They tinker with things too much. When anything that benefits players accidentally, it’s either shut down, removed or made unusable fairly quickly. Things that need to be fixed to make the game better take weeks to months. They did leave the wishender broken for longer than I expected but yeah god forbid an exotic was truly powerful. Can’t have that. So in a nut shell. It seems they think they’ve gotten a handle on the mistakes they made year one and are trying to move things back to that overall philosophy. It’s boring and I refer to it as Shadow Sleep. It’s a shame because whoever was steering the ship during Forsaken seems to have been taken fishing in the deep water and didn’t make it back. Forsaken was one the very best DLCs I’ve ever played. This not so much. Regardless I still play seeing it has the best shooting mechanics of any game I play and I like space magic. If only another company could put out a product to challenge them. It would very interesting to see how they’d approach things with true competitors.

You seem to know a lot for someone who hasn't played in a while. I don't disagree, but I hope this is an intermission season and not the new standard. I did enjoy having some new mods, weapons, elemental primaries, etc. I played for a few weeks and had fun and mostly moved on. I always think person in charge ruins alot of the game for me. I won't bother grinding armor, because 99.9% has bad stats low and not what I want for my build. That and this season's mods won't work next season. Pinnacle power grind is an annoying waste of time. I hate how upgrade materials are capped at 10 and 30. Maybe we lost the devlopers that know how to make engaging content? Maybe it's time to sell the game to a studio that can do more than work on EV.
