OPEN/DELETE being the same button is BAD DESIGN!
Bungie,
A couple seasons ago, I deleted a stack of almost 400 (Masterwork) cores because they were located right next to a consumable I was popping. I was gutted. If you remember Masterwork cores, you remember that they used to be super scarce, and it wasn't uncommon for most people to have NONE.
Skip forward to yesterday, and although you've made it so that deleting them only deletes ONE enhancement core at a time- I did just that while mass opening Dawning gifts.
Look- This is just horrific design, and the fact that you addressed the issue by only allowing one deletion at a time shows that you understand there's an issue. Why is it that there is garbage in my inventory that is completely un-deleteable, but we have the option to delete Enhancement Cores? Come on Bungie... This is really, really lazy, and bad design.
tl:dr- Why is the button to open Dawning Gifts and to delete Enahancement Cores the same button (on console anyway)? And why is there even an option to delete them, when there is other uselss crap that I can't delete or even move to my vault?

eh, at least it's not as bad as gta v press a to Sprint and accept. can't tell you how many times I've been forced into a game because I was running.

My Issue is the Kick/Promote Buttons are literally right next to each other and I end up kicking friends when I try to promote them. They need to be farther apart then they are now.

I accidentally deleted several cores today as I was opening my stash of cookie boxes. It’s fkin annoying that not only do they share a button, but the inventory rearranges itself for no apparent reason!

8 RepliesI am going to call bull$hit... you can't delete an entire stack of masterwork cores it deletes 1 at a time... cause I was opening gift packages from xmas event and it moved after the first one... and then I deleted 1 only 1 of my 287 masterwork cores... yes it sucks but you have a full 3 sec to see that your deleting the wrong thing...

3 RepliesDeleting it is so slow that if you don't pay attention to what you're doing, you fully deserve it. It's fine as it is; you're just not looking at what you're doing and calling it Bungie's fault when it's literally your own fault.

OMG!! Why does the inventory rearrange itself when you’re deleting stuff!?!? I mean I know it gives you more materials when deleting things, thus dragging that material/item to the forefront and rearranging your item inventory. WHYYYY!!?? Just leave things where they are! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve almost deleted a stack of something because of this. It’s almost as if Bungie is trolling us knowing eventually someone won’t be paying attention and then..... BLAM!!! Where did my enhancement prisms go?🤔

I would like to add to this and wonder why we can delete something like MasterWork Cores, but we can't delete Phase Glass Matter. The most worthless item in the game that pops up every other time I delete a blue item or a useless roll of a legendary item. While we are at it, the Glimmer Shower item is just as useless and clogs up my inventory. Instead of deleting them, I have to wait 18 seconds before I pop another one to get them to 0.

On PC, you can easily remap buttons. I believe you can do the same on PS4, but it's more with the actual PS4 than with the game. On XBOX, I have no idea.

1 ReplyTrue. Better would be a confirmation screen or a selection screen first on how many you want to delete. This already prevents you delete all of them by accident.

3 RepliesYep agreed, I almost did it myself because as you open the gifts for some reason the menu seems to shift. You can open two in a row but when you hit the third be careful because there’s a good chance you’ll be hovering over the cores instead.

well it happend to me this season i deleted 400 mod components, bcuz they swapped places with gifts i was afk opening them while watching a video on my 2nd monitor :D gladly i still have plenty of 1.0 mods and more than enough shard and gunsmith materials but still dont see the reason why it's the same key ;D
