Bungie I'm having destiny 2 fatigue.
- I'm stressed out that I wont make it to seasonal rank 100. Doing activities I hate because I need the EXP from bounties, kills me. I end up quiting early and boot up another game instead of Destiny. Or I play the slim content that I actually like and end up getting no EXP at all.
- I have no idea what's going on with the hole story of destiny. What is an EXO. Is the cabal finished? What is my relationship to Shaxx,zavala, everyone.
- Saint is alive and now is at the tower? How?!? Where is the mission? Did it get removed on the weekly reset? " Talk to saint at the tower" Ight I guess he just came back without my help.
I'm starting to believe Destiny is evolving into something that's pushing me away from the game. I'm thinking of quitting the game and wait for Destiny 3 if this is how things are.

Been playing MCC instead. Haven't played this game in over a week. Not coming back until the exotic quest.

2 RepliesFeel pretty much the same. Logged in today after a couple weeks away. Ran a few bounties, ignored dawning stuff, ignored IB garbage. It just feels meh...... A lot of people are feeling this way about the game. The light of destiny has gone out.......

3 RepliesOle Bungo just cant manage this game right; story is bad, direction is all over the place, activities are a and bounties are lame or tedious, they think grind city is the best option instead of stuff that is actually fun to do, the new armor system is bullshit. I could go on but I'm just stating what we all already know. "making content is hard"

Hitting 100 isn't hard if you do a few bounties. I've mostly only played on one character, missed most of a week of play, and derped around a lot, and I'm halfway through. Don't sweat it. Just pick up and complete bounties every so often and you'll get it done before the season is over! That said, yes, the story is VERY hard to follow if you aren't a lore junky like me. I love what's going on with the lore but only because I dig into it, read a ton of lore entries and watch occasional Byf videos. Byf predicted we'd be seeing Saint-14 again WELL in advance, and I was looking forward to it. The fact that they actually came back to this old plot gave me hope that maybe they'll finish some other things out! The Red Legion Cabal are more or less finished and this is something of a last ditch effort to undo what finished them and change the timeline. Long story there. Heck, the VEX are in utter chaos right now thanks to the underwhelming last season and our previous victories! I really do suggest looking up some summaries or My Name is Byf videos (his That Sounds Like a You Problem series is also just pure humor with him and his friends, if you want a break from serious and long lore videos). But... it's kinda a shame that you HAVE to dig into it that deep if you want to know what's going on. There's better ways of telling a coherent story. Forcing fans to rely on secondary material and youtube videos just to understand what's going on? Not exactly the best bet for the general populace (and I don't mean that in any insulting way whatsoever--it's just that it takes a very special kind of person to want to dig into the lore as much as they require, and really, it's not a good idea for them to ONLY tailor their storytelling to that group of people, even if I fit into that group).

Don't feel bad about not finishing the rank rewards. Are you really going to use the shards? Given how armour gets replaced after 12 weeks there is no point master working it, so the end of the pass is redundant. The cosmetics are just shiny new toys that will lose their appeal next season. No one knows what's going on with the story right now, it's been a year since THAT Uldren cut scene and still nothing has happened with him. Bungie isn't disciplined enough to stick with a story, any story and see it though so you have this nonsensical patchwork of ideas and characters that just doesn't go anywhere. Nothing you can get this season will matter in the next, if playing isn't fun for you stop for a while. I've spent 1000s of hours on D2 (you can check) and I can't find any reason to play this season. I even took a break before Season of Dawn started. I played for the first 5 days and stopped again, there is no point investing any time in to this game unless you enjoy playing it and currently with how it's set up I don't.

Grinding the seasonal rank is easy and quick. I'm half way through rank 72 and don't play a lot. Pick up all gunsmith bounties and buy the extras, then do the same thing with Vanguard bounties, and pick up Saint-14 bounties. Most of the time 3 or 4 of them will be multiples. Get scout rifle kills, 15 scout kills without dying, kinetic kills, 25 scout kills in a strike, etc. Set up your weapons and load into an 820 nightfall. Complete weapon bounties then go back to orbit, switch, rinse and repeat. I can do this on all 3 characters pretty quickly and you'll end up with a minimum 300,000 xp. Work on catalysts for these weapons while you're at it. You can multi-task the crap out of this game if you step back and take a look at everything at once.

It's not fatigue. It's a terrible game play loop and the game is not rewarding and deliberately grindy to give the impression of depth and content. Your fine guardian. Play at your pace. You arent missing anything.

You have a time problem. This is not a game that is designed so that you can play it for a few hours a week, and get all of its rewards. This is a game designed for the player who plays everyday, for a hour or two. If you can give the game 10 hours a week....you'll reach 100 easily. If not....you won't....but then you need to look at your expectations, and whether you actually enjoy playing the game. Becaue---I suspect----you dont' really enjoy playing it if you give it as little time as you have been doing.

2 RepliesOk, I understand where you're coming from, and if you want watch my_name_is_byf. Now Exos are a human consciousness in side a Robotic body.- go to Mars lost sector in Futurescape. There will be doors with console's that will give more info. The cabal are trying to re-establish their leadership, now the 3 Flayer sisters are trying to reverse what was done. Don't yet know if they wish to bring gaul back, for one says" I will serve this broken Empire no longer" and as for SAINT-14, well like I said watch my_name_is_byf he's a lore master and he'll explain it alot better than me.

Join Forges at a power lvl of under 750 and leave running while you are at work or in bed. You get 1 or 2 Essence per 30 sec Forge. Go to Eva and buy her double XP Bounties that require you to only make a cake/cookie. Cash in and repeat. Each 5 bounties do half a XP bar, 10 bounties per XP level that's with out the Tuesday Reset boost. Leaving forges running you can make over 600 essence while you're in bed

It's too bad they can't figure out how to implement it in the game other than lore tabs and grimoire from D1. Seriously, go check him out on youtube if you havn't already.

Id recomend just playing what you want for the first 5 levels a week because the xp boost is decent enough its near enough to being on par with bounties without the boost. So once you hit your 5 boosted levels then start working on bounty activities for 3 levels a week and you should hit rank 96 (assuming weve got 12 week seasons) so an extra level once every couple of weeks and you will get there. Ive hit rank 26 and ive probably done a total of 20 bounties (maybe less) so i wouldnt stress too hard man. Osiris has some missions for you if you visit him, his marker on mercury glows when he does but its super faint and hard to see so its understandable you missed it. As for lore stuff id recomend looking up myelin games or mynameisbyf and listening to them while you play, the lore is pretty great but alot of it you have to read for yourself so if your pressed for recreation time letting a youtuber do the work of piecing it all together so you can just listen to it while you play, do chores, study or commute to work is probably gonna work best for you. Hopefully any of that helps you and also happy holidays! 🙂

Yeah this pathetic seasonal structure is burning me out too and I’m a hardcore player by every definition. You know what I’ve been doing the past 2 weeks? Playing other games. I’m not saying don’t complain, you’re feedback is important. But if you’re like me and not having fun just play something else.

For the PAST FIVE YEARS the lore has been out of the main story. Lore YT vids and posts here explain what happening. DO WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY. Most of the things on the pass can be gained in game, maybe except for a weapon skin and a finisher. If you are scared of not finishing the pass, don’t buy it. Exos were initially made by Clovis Bray. An exo is a robot with a human consciousness installed into it. The machine frame is calibrated to simulate being a human as much as is possible: "needing" to breath, eat, drink, sleep, blink, feel pain, etc. Ontop of that, the consciousness is wiped clean, all memories removed. This is due to early experimentation showing that the human mind cannot handle such a stark transition into a completely new body that it just sorta deletes itself. They also found that if they didn't repeat the memory wipe thing periodically that the mind would delete itself anyways, leading to repeated wipes. This results in the number at the end of an exo's name, Cayde-6 for example, was wiped 6 times. Banshee-44 was wiped 44 times, leaving him a touch scrambled. I learned all of that from exploring Mars and interacting with certain world elements. As far as the residents of the tower, Zavala, etc. I'm assuming they think we're weird, y'know, with our literally never speaking policy, but sometimes the strong silent type is nice to have around. Plus, they can't really complain, I mean we just go places and get stuff done. The cabal are interesting. As far as Calus is concerned, he's a weird guy. He wants us to become his shadow, meaning that we'll be loyal to him and him alone. it's unclear as to if he's a true friend or not. Then there's other branches of Cabal that aren't loyal to Calus; for example the Red Legion. They want us dead. Think of our world, not everyone is loyal to the US, you've got other countries.

Leave for a while. 1 of 2 things will happen. You will realize there are more rewarding games out there that respect your playing time and never come back. The other option is you may come back and enjoy it.
