Nova Warp review & video links! (Dmg04 here’s those videos you requested)

[b]I’m referring to the SUPER ONLY, its neutral game is fine.[/b] [u]I’m not discussing HHSN, so please don’t bring it up.[/u] This was the first Warlock Super that ever reigned king of the Crucible. Everyone knows it was overpowered when it was released, but does that justify how much it was neutered? No, no it does not! Nova Warp suffers from many things when in a 1v1 against another roaming Super. Here’s a list: 1. Charge time. 2. Slowed movement while charging. 3. Damage resistance. 4. The cost to charge a light attack is the same as a heavy attack! Now I’m going to discuss these issues in depth 1 by 1: [quote]1. Charge time. So while the charge time is listed as 0.7 seconds, it actually takes a full second to detonate. This causes death! [quote]2. Slowed movement while charging. You actually come to a complete stop on console when in any arena (PvP or PvE), this is due to the frame rates being so low on consoles. [quote]3. But when Shadowkeep launched, ALL roaming Supers were hit with a reduction in damage resistance (which was needed). [quote]4. The cost to charge a light attack is the same as a heavy attack! The light attack is also very, very small and the radius is so inconsistent. I don’t understand why they both cost the same amount of energy. If I could ask for just a few things to be changed, here’s what they’d be: 1. Reduce charge time from 0.7 to 0.6 seconds. 2. Remove slowed movement while charging. Also, please increase its [b][u]PvE[/u][/b] damage against major type enemies by 40%. Nova Warp used to have a total of 12 detonations which made up for how weak it actually is in PvE. Only having 7 detonations doesn’t work very well because it takes 4 of them on 1 major. If you can’t adjust the damage in PvE separately from PvP, please just say so. Before asking to change anything else with this Super, could we just try out these few changes and see how it is?   • Thank you, dude. Hope, they will understand, that warlocks should be a little refreshed. Hope, you will make the same videos about useless rifts IN PVP, and about blink (too hard to use it without exotic fro blink), about slowest melee attack I'm close to done with D2, coz like warlock main and it's hard to play against underpowered hunters with OP EXOTICS and mods with fully shield every 10 seconds...

        • Also tiny uncharged blasts has Terrible Camera angle and can't distort your screen when trying to use it in succession. Atomic Breach melee is so inconsistent

          • The super should not be stronger than it is. Nova warp is unique because you sacrifice your super for very strong neutral abilities. Yes, the super that you get twice a game is bad. But the abilities you have in every single engagement let you play while hardly even needing to shoot your gun. It is balanced how it is now.

                  That moment when striker titans can perform the job of Nova Warp better than itself. Striker titans spamming light melee is 100x more effective at dodging and disorienting opponents than Nova Warp's slow dark blinks. Nova Warp needs to be retuned to what it originally was. Super duration can be kept the same as now along with super armor, but everything else needs to be returned. It should sacrifice durability for speed. Right now, it sacrifices durability for nothing.

                  • It needs its movement back..... like badly. It quite literally has the worst stats of all the supers in every department and is shutdown by a single erentil shot or shotgun melee.

                    • Good post but won’t happen. They don’t care about warlocks in general. In crucible just run a hunter. The dodge immunity and arc dodge / sprint to recharge is actually funny. They added stuff like eye mask and left it for entire seasons before addressing any of the warlock gear. They need to play test all the old exotics and supers and revamp many. On all classes starting with the warlock pvp gear / exotics.

                      Nova warp needs speed, armor and its capacity to OHK super Top tree Dawnblade needs its floating effect remove when you jump and burst glide restored in Daybreak Bottom tree stormcaller needs blink Warlock uncharged melee needs to be faster and stop whiffing but me i don't care anymore its Bungie's game so they do what they want i'm going back to HALO

                    • Just considering the charge time and detonation time you don't have a chance to really let off another attack on other roaming supers. By the time you want to use another attack your already dead. I think it would be fair to say that if I'm charging up an attack in my super why shouldn't I be able to 1hk someone else in their super? I also think the super overall is lacking a bit of speed even with a in-super-blink, which in itself feels like it costs the same amount of super energy to attack some one. They should probably remove the cost of blinking in super or at least cut the cost in half because the super still doesn't last as long as other roaming supers.

                      • These are well known problems, but bungie won’t buff it because they know that warlocks are the least used class in PVP.

                        • Im fine with the armor nerf it got but man the speed is ridiculous, the charge time specifically gets me killed a lot even when I’m using blink and I’m doing whatever it takes to stay alive. On pc everyone aims insanely good so its even harder to perform with nova warp on pc. Before the nerfs, I used to blink and use the momentum while charging the attack to do well. Now we have slower charge time and we slow down while charging an attack so using momentum to reach targets is a no go. I don’t understand how is it that the devs cant figure out how to balance the super, its so easy to fix the super and nothing ever happens. I feel the devs know the super sucks but refuse to fix it because they rather focus their attention on other things. Bungie even replied that they have videos of players still doing well with nova warp but those videos are players that went against potatoes. Like duh anyone going vs noobs will always do well

                          • Charge time and light/heavy attack costs do need some adjustment. The movement and armor though are fine.

                              I wonder if the Warlock problems in PVP are getting noticed by Bungie? On reddit there are several post like this one (with thousands of likes) so Warlocks mains see this problem....I have seen the problems for 2 years now. It would be interesting to do the math and figure out by percentages of a post based on likes and replies the numbers of the total community that really sees the same problems? For instance (and these numbers are made up for illustration) 1 like = 10,000 people out there that agree.

                            • As much as I want this to happen, Bungie is too arrogant and foolish to be reasoned with it. In their weak minded hot dog water brain, they nerfed it to the ground without even play testing it because they reacted emotionally rather than logically as they typically do. It’s gonna take a miracle for one of these fat slobs to realize the consequences off their actions.

                            • Everything you said wrong with nova warp seeks to undo what was broken. I'm fine with removing the unnecessary speed nerf while charging and blink cost but everything else stays. It should not have more resistance while being able to heal. Blink should have no cost. It definitely should not have reduced cost or a reduction in charge time. The issue with nova is its supposed to a mobile class with great neutral but is unnecessarily slow.
