2 RepliesI mean, Golden haired achilles (as described by Homer) is portrayed in a current show as a black bald man, an Egyptian God (Set?) Was portrayed by a white Irish man named Gerard, Margaret the queen of England (a not very sunny place, with many very pale people) was played by a black actress, Ghengis Khan was played by -blam!-ing John Wayne for Christ's sake, and the founder of Rome (Aeneas) was played by Alfred Enoch (a black man) and Frankie Fitzgerald (a very pale white man). There's also the matter of every ancient civilization being depicted as having worn leather arm bracelets when most of them didn't, but that's another story. So look, the point I'm trying to make here, is that Hollywood and media hasn't really been helping with historical accuracy. The fact that Jesus has been portrayed as white in just about every film ever is just more of the same.
