Not a fan of this. You know how long and frustrating it was grinding EP armour every week for one piece?
Hoping the piece that dropped was Arc, had high stats AND wasn’t a piece I had before.
I done EP every week since shadowkeep and only needed the chest, rest wee all duplicates.
Now dawn arrives and your telling me that set is now useless? I masterworked it why? What’s the point in literally doing anything in this game now armour wise if it’s gonna be going next season? Mods disappearing every season, never really being able to hold onto Builds?
How can masterworking be so expensive at the same time as there being Hardly anyway to get the materials? Wouldn’t it make sense to...I don’t know...make all armour ornaments? One set of each affinity and we grind ornaments? Where are the ornaments missing from the armour 2.0 trailer?
What is this game now anyway? Can’t be a collection game because there isn’t a enough vault space and we can’t pull any random rolls out of collections which is most gear now.
Can’t be loot game because they just isn’t enough loot for that and the loot that is there is reskins?
Definitely not a PvP game, that “renewed focus” is no where to be seen, no new maps and nerfs left right and centre.
So what is destiny now? A rinse repeat season simulator? I’m just confused by the direction of the game, I want to be able to use anything I’ve been rewarded with In the game, I want to be able to hold on to builds and bring them out/change them up whenever, but the game is changing none stop.
Cant use new mods on old armour, artefacts gone every season so can’t save builds, bungie chooses what weapons we are to use by only allowing those mods in the artefact.
I think you guys need to step back, and look at your game as a whole, really look though. Look at what made D1 so great and aspects of D2 you were praised for, look at what people enjoyed, and stick to it. D1 was a beta? Then what is D2 because launch was nothing like D1 and now we’re into a whole new way of delivering content. Is this another beta?
More consumables every season yet no update to the space we have to hold them.
You introduce armour 2.0 but but then activities like EP that reward good looking stuff is locked to one piece a week. You don’t have someone looking and double checking stuff like this? And oh btw, EP chest isn’t rewarding loot after the update. Glad someone doubled checked this to...
Catalyst like sleeper still locked behind a raid no one does anymore, no at Bungie picked up on this?
Vendors haven’t seen a reset in years ahahaha actual years lmfao “evolving world” only thing evolving about any planetary vendor in the past 2 years is the ever evolving boredom I have when getting a package....
Not to worry, eververse is bursting with goodies though, every season, every week....
Exotics.....that we earned....over years of gameplay....And grinding....that seem to be rarer than any decent patch notes .....CANT even be taken from collection with proper affinities or stats. How many times do I need to get the same exotic?
Instead of being an evolving and progressive world, it’s now a loop, rinse and repeat seasons with hardly anything carrying over to the next to show for our time. When is there ever gonna be a “you had to be there moment” if I have nothing from the last season to show for it.
As it stands now, I don’t think I would say to anyone who didn’t play Season of the undying “you had to be there man” because there wasn’t anything. It’s all gone now. Personally I much preferred the DLC form of content.
So what’s going on? All time, recourses, care and funding going towards your new game with Netease? Is that why making destiny content is “hard” or is it just you guys have lost passion for this game?
Who’s enjoying this? If you are great. If you aren’t, what’s your views?

Someone I saw in here yesterday had what I considered the best solution to this problem that I’ve seen. Such a good idea I needed to make it its own thread https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/254647088/0/0

3 RepliesThis just shows how much bungie values player time. They are basically making the gear of each season obsolete so they can sell you the new season merch... the lack of bungie replied tags on the forums shows how much they care

1 ReplyI’ve come to the conclusion that Bungie wants vets to quit, we remember what it used to be like and have a hard time paying for stuff we used to be able to grind for. They’re trying to get the free to play Fortnite crowd playing instead, they’re used to paying ridiculous prices for stupid crap.

12 RepliesSeasonal armor is fine. Wanna complain? How about raid armor not being raid specific since D2 launch!

It's not balanced with the amount of high end materials you need campared to how fast the armor sets change and how many sets you need for builds and different activities. We should be getting cores back from every legendary now when you dismantle. It's like they made cores into a low end material like planetary mats, but few ways to aquire them. The few bounties you get each week and the random dismantle when you get one back just doesn't cut it. We need more ways to get prisms and ascendant shards. Would love to see just random armor drop with a chance to be masterworked and not just pinnacles.

7 RepliesRandom stats/max energy/amount of slots are all the same so 0% progress, just some temporal seasonal mods that need a full new set. The only time we got any progress was from Forsaken when we got random armor modifiers, but vanilla D2 was a huge regress as all progress was reset. They want all content to always be equally challenging to the new stuff, so we can never have any progress or power play in this game, we get some fake power progress by forcing us to fight higher power level mobs. I am still waiting for a real "mmo" co-op shooter rpg, I don't think Destiny ever will become that, and sadly haven't seen any game aiming for that.

Spot on man. Especially, “How many times do I have to earn the same exotic?” Until there is viable competition, expect the Destiny franchise continue...wherever this direction is...nowhere good. But the bottom line is all that matters and until that drops, expect more of...this. And btw, Bungie, Armor 2.0 is good (without considering the fact that you have to earn a new set every season now), but it’s still not as effective as ACTUAL SKILL TREES at letting players play how they want. Have an upvote, dude.

3 RepliesI deleted this game today. Felt good.
-
I'm not. But I've also given up on anything changing for the better. I haven't been truly invested in this game in quite some time. Shadowkeep and 2.0 just reduced that investment even further. No FOMO here. I just stopped caring.

Bungie has not fully committed to the RPG side of this game. And the game suffers because of that.
-
Just checking to see if bungie is being as ignorant as always. No response? Yep, usual bungie
-
Because some people can’t control themselves and they burn through a D1 DLC in a week playing 12 hours a day Bungie decided to drip feed things over “seasons”.

great post! I have all those same thoughts. Other than a story for saint-14, I can't see anything to hold me to play stuff over an over. Yeah there are new saint weapons but it's just a different version of the forge/menage/lectern. Once you have found your rolls, meh. Maybe they're holding stuff back, like a dungeon or event, who knows. I think they need to respond in detail to your post. the whole armor thing has gone sideways. The story is so scattered, really no plot you can follow and hold you in the game. I too am tired of re-earning what I've already gotten for the third time. The only thing that has stayed the same is your characters face (if you haven't deleted to start a new). Cheers Wook

3 RepliesI just find it very telling that the Activision/Bungie split (according to Bungie) was down to a different vision for the direction of the game.... if there is even a shred of truth to that claim, could the Activision direction have been worse than this? Personally I just think Bungie required too many resources, time and investment... and didn't produce the quality of product to warrant it.
-
2 RepliesI blame the leadership and vision of bungie. Starts at the top.

Honestly I didn't even really use the artifact mods last season. They looked amazing, but I knew I would have a hard time when they went away. Kind of like the revelry and doom fang pauldrons. So I never got attached to them. I am guessing the seasonal mods are what you are referring to? Btw the EP armor now drops from every single wave 7 completion, so I am sure you can get another set with the current mod slots if you want.
-
1 ReplyNot only that but all the new armor aside from IB is pretty much guaranteed to have crap stats. Enjoy the season.
-
we should be able to add each seasonal mod in one section at the least
-
We have never been able to apply new seasonal mods to old armour, why are people surprised with this and why did people master work seasonal armour?

I'm not. But I've also given up on anything changing for the better. I haven't been truly invested in this game in quite some time. Shadowkeep and 2.0 just reduced that investment even further. No FOMO here. I just stopped caring.

It’s like Bungie never heard of games like Diablo, Borderlands, etc. The LOOT blueprint has been there for years. Personally I believe Bungie does not have the drive or work ethic. They probably spent the past few years hiring and promoting based on identity politics, rather than talent, passion, drive, and skills.

Honestly, there is more passion in this post than I’ve seen Bungie put into this game for a long long time. I logged in last night, day 2 of the new season, and just couldn’t be arsed with it. That doesn’t bode well.
-
This is a spectacular f--k up. They've completely undermined the whole point of the seasonal model (questionable as it is in the first place.) As you said saying 'you had to be there' is kind of pointless when they make so much redundant with the switch to the new season. There's no reason to grind for armor now - since seasonal mods and the such will just be removed once the new season starts. It's completely dumbfounding why they thought this was a good idea. This is the kind of thing that kills peoples drive to play the game.

Right now the games direction is down the toilet. Years of feedback and summits about player time investment and longevity of gear all just blown out the water with one mod slot. Instant disposable gameplay overnight, can’t wait for destiny on mobile.
