Just curious.
I've been playing Survival with my brother. We are both currently at around 1000 Glory points.
That said, you'd expect the game to try finding opponents around the same Glory rank, right? Most of the matches we have played so far have been against opponents with max Glory rank, rocking their typical Dust Rock Blues + Not Forgotten combo. We even saw some people with the Unbroken title. Meanwhile all the randoms we get in our team either quit after losing a round or doesn't help us win.
Most of the matches it's like that, but every now and then we get opponents who have no idea what they are even doing. Easy wins.
It feels like the game tries as hard as it can to find matches that are as imbalanced as possible. We both got to Fabled rank when Forsaken came out but since then we haven't played Competitive. Could that affect the matchmaking somehow?
Anyway, if anyone can help me understand how the matchmaking works that would be great.
Thanks in advance!

4 RepliesEdited by XXII: 11/3/2019 9:43:08 PMIts connection based with some sort Of Skill Rating but mostly Cbmm. The freelance Survival is some sort of manipulated out come matchmaking. The game wanted me to get too 5500. So when I lost I lost like 10 points and they were according to DTR 100% forced loses where I get 2 super bad players to force the other players to win to get them to their designated glory. Bungie has some sort of threshold on how many games you need to win to hit legend for me it was in the 30s. Someone like Zk was probably like 20s. For someone who isn't that great it may be up in the 50s and 60s.

1 ReplySupposedly its now not based off glory but "true skill" Where bungie creates thia profile and over time it starts putting you players against your own skill, depending on how you play. So if the system sees you're clapping everyone early on, itll give you some sweatier people. But if youre the one getting clapped, itll give you some players around your skill.

1 ReplyThey say it is skill based matchmaking but they can not tell you how they determine your skill. If it is skill based then we would be able to see our skill score or however they are doing it but it does not exist.

Anyone else have some info on how it works?

1 ReplyI believe it takes in to account your recent performance in the Crucible to attempt to match true skill levels. However its definitely not always working as intended.
