Why Aren't More Gamers Completing Raids????

I play Destiny 2 on Xbox and was looking at my Achievements the other night, mainly the ones I don't have yet. Here's some info for you: Belly of the Beast - Complete the Leviathan Raid. 12.86 percent of gamers have achieved this. The Prestige - Complete the Leviathan Raid on Prestige difficulty. 5.29 percent of gamers have achieved this. Wishing for the Best - Complete the "Last Wish" Raid. 3.87 percent of gamers have achieved this. Granted this info relates to Xbox only, but damn, look at the number of gamers that have completed the raids! Now we hear Bungie is making the raids "more" challenging. I'd imagine the percentage of gamers that complete the next rounds of raids to be even lower. I see questions in the forum all the time about "who" Bungie makes the raids for, I mean, it's pretty obvious with all the manufactured hype over "Worlds First" placed on newly launched raids. There's a post on the front page where OP suggests the raids need to have more mechanics in them, suggesting there were more mechanics in D1 than D2 raids. It looks like to me that adding "more" mechanics into a raid only lessens the potential for the core group of players to actually finish it. I'd venture a guess that most players don't have a ready group of above-average players to complete a raid with. I understand that the Raid is supposed to be mainly for the skilled end-game player, but damn. I assume Bungie puts a lot of time into development of the raids, only to have a sliver of the player base actually experience them. Bungie seems to have lost focus on which group of gamers make up the "majority" of their player base, and that's sad.

Destiny would be dead without raids. Its like a car without wheels; who would buy it? You need exciting end game content for the core community and longevity. No longevity without a core community. Its very simple. Raids are not that hard. You just need 2-4 clears and you will master them. Every person who don't run raids will give you a different reason. Because I don't want to talk to others; I don't like to learn mechanics... because its raining, sun is shining, don't like hunters, don't like warlocks and whatever. For those players destiny 2 offers strikes = don't need to talk, nearly no mechanics at all and bosses are one hit = for each their own.

Prob because the community is toxic and no one wants to teach people anymore

If anyone is on Xbox and wants to do a raid I’m willing to teach. I prefer teaching Scourge of the past. I won’t do Spire of the stars. Crown of Sorrows is pretty low on my teaching list since it’s still hard with current light levels If you have social anxiety I don’t mind you being silent the whole time. I would just need you to be willing to sit in party to hear us communicate. You can even pick out a pre determined emote to signify you are ready/understand what I’m teaching. If we fail a part my group never gets upset at each other. So no need to worry about getting scolded for dying.

  • I'm not a big fan of doing raids. Never completed one in d2. D1 raids were so fun for me. Loved Crota. But I like the more dungeon style raid, then solve some stupid puzzles

    • I'd do raids almost exclusively if they they didn't require headsets and so many ridiculous mechanics FORCING verbal communication. I'm autistic myself, and it's difficult for me to even leave a text chat open without dying from anxiety. Butt that said, make a run and gun raid that's 5+ hours, I'd be doing it daily. Matchmake into a team and go kill things, with an occasional typed message. Why's that so impossible? That's how I raided for multiple years in Wow and it just worked. Hate the current way this garbage works.

      • One run is usually enough for you to realize the raid is rubbish, the weapons are underwhelming and the armour is mostly ugly. Why would you need to run it again and again, you don't, once is enough

      • Why? 1. Because LFG is a pain in the nuts. 2. Stupid jumping mechanics are stupid (and not fun) 3. LFG. Seriously. Looking for a group sucks. In d1 sometimes I’d spend 30 minutes on the gd forums trying to find a group. When d2 dropped, I joined a clan because I thought it would be easier to find a group. Not much easier, come to find out. People tend to settle into clicks and I’m not a clicky person. The division does it perfectly. They have matchmaking and a vote system so someone can still be kicked if they need to be, it just takes more than the egomaniac who created the group. But, it’s obvious bungie don’t give two craps that people don’t have opportunities to raid. If they did then they’d come up with a solution already.

        • If they broke raids up into selectable sections i think that not only would alot more people be willing to learn but also alot more willing to teach. Players can learn and progress on to harder sections at their own pace and sherpas don’t have to give up half of their day trying to get people through the entire raid.

People not completing raids has literally nothing to do with the difficulty of said raids. The raids are a joke once the mechanics are even semi known. Period. People aren’t completing them because finding pickup groups with random is generally a nightmare. Sub par players demand spectacular performance from players who have barely even hit the light requirement. I feel for players in this category. I’ve personally known many over the years. The 3rd party LFG system run by the community is very sub standard and extremely unwelcoming to new players. That’s why they’re not even trying to complete raids.

          • It's simple, no-one is willing to teach the raids; so no-one bothers to ask; so no-one can find a team to raid; so no-one raids - it's a neverending cycle.

            • Say it with me! JOIN A CLAN I know plenty of clans if not most of them that teach and sherpa at least once weekly. And often times even more. There is no excuse to not complete a raid. None. None of this, “No one is willing to teach”. Because there are tons of tons willing to teach on lfg, in clans, and often even in game. None of this, “Raids are too hard!” Because their not. Your just not giving it a shot and giving up. Raids are 10x easier now than they ever were in D1. Most of them you can get done in 30 minutes. I’m not taking, “No clan will accept me”. That’s your own fault for not putting in the effort. The reason you would get kicked are below -You broke rules or didn’t meet requirements -You didn’t play enough destiny or communicated -You harassed or offended someone Those are the reasons. That’s your own fault if you get kicked from a clan. And if you can’t play enough then maybe your not ready for the endgame content or just don’t feel the game is important enough to invest your time in. Because of this don’t expect to get everything. I above all will not accept, “I was in a clan with my friends and we raided but they all left and now I’m alone” Leave the clan, join a new one and make friends. A lot of people left because of Curse of Osiris. We get it. Stop moping about, and make some friends. Join a random clan. Try to get involved. Finally, none of the excuses like, “D2 raids just aren’t good anymore! Their top mechanic heavy!” Are you joking? The current raids have NOTHING on the convoluted mechanics of Kings Fall and even Wrath. Those things are complicated and tough. There is no reason you can’t participate in a raid. If you’ve got anxiety fine, but this is a multiplayer game and you have to understand that means you may not be able to get everything either.

              • Because getting a full group of people together for a multi-hour activity isn't very fun for most people. Especially since most people probably don't have a full raid-group of friends in the same timezone with enough hours to spend doing a raid meaning they have to get randos in on it and I don't know if you've looked at the LFG stuff at all, but oh man. People in LFG are beyond terrible - and I don't mean this as an elitist condemnation of their skill. I mean terrible as in "I don't care if they can flawlessly clear the raid for me without me having to actually play, I don't want to deal with this community" from demanding gallerhorns or no raid in D1, to constantly demanding perfect top tier light level for basic, easy challenges at leviathan's launch and almost perpetually demanding people have multiple raid clears to do non-heroic raids, when the people demanding such usually barely know even a cursory glance of the boss strategies. All wrapped up in a package of explosive, supremely volatile temperament because even one mistake can cause a wipe, and even one wipe can, and frequently will, cause someone to either rage quit, or rage out and cause someone else to quit because they don't want to sit there for twenty additional minutes while someone throws a tantrum because one person made a genuine mistake anyone could have made. It doesn't help that most of the rid mechanics are really boring and less skill dependent as they are memory reliant and checks on whether or not you have the right guns and can stand on the right spot while shooting the right target. It's like Bungie learned all the wrong things from King's Fall, a raid so dull I've had multiple raids fall asleep during the final encounter with Oryx on heroic because of how bloody long it took for anything engaging to happen and how often you had to repeat mundane, boring things to do anything.

              • The d2 raids are so mechanic heavy and if everyone is not flawless it’s a wipe most of the time. I hope that since they have nerfed our ability to melt bosses that they won’t need to incorporate so many mechanics before a damage phase just to create a challenge

                • Main reason (and I fall under this category) not a lot of players have time to make for raids even sotp and crown can be hard to make time for Another is the players that don’t want to help teach new raiders the mechanics (also people lfg for people with clears cause they can’t be bothered to actually learn the mechanics themselves)
