I just watched a really good video from Aztecross about subclass abilities from D1 that he would like to see return in D2. It reminded me of how much fun the Fireborn ability was. For those who did not play D1 it enabled Solar Warlocks to self res from the dead by hitting their super. It had a lot of uses in both PVP and PVE. It saved many a Raid, Nightfall and Heroic Strike from disaster. But it was really the most fun in PVP. Even in the last year of D1 players would be taken off guard by it. The best (and most fun) use was when you were killed at a Control Zone (particularly if there were several opposing players there). The key to using it properly was to wait 4 or 5 seconds before activating it (amateurs would hit it right away and most times would end up get nailed right away too) and just as 4 or more guardians would be doing their victory dance while capping the zone (or even better t-bagging you) BOOM you self res and take out all of them! That was always a riot! Anyone else miss this?

I liked the bad self res PvP players that revived right in front of me just to get shotgunned a 2nd time! Self-res played to the D1 ‘hero moments’. Bungie do not like that any more and want success to depend upon all players fulfilling a role. One or two players reviving themselves and pulling off an amazing raid completion seemingly goes against everything Bungie want the game to be now.

I miss bagging them when they self res'd and got blasted immediately.
-
4 RepliesNo. It was as useless super, it didn't help in any fight and if you needed it to try and save a raid encounter you'd already failed so badly you'd need to wipe and restart anyway.

Radiant skin was way better. In my opinion. I could fist fight any boss for fun and usually win. Combine that with the overshield from melee and I was invincible.
-
If they did being it back they would have to make debuffs carry over. I hated that people would 1 man raids by killing themselves and then rezing to get rid of whatever lockout they had. No other class had anything like it. I also am not a bug fan of supers that are designed not to be used.

3 RepliesLet's face it d2 locks are a neutered version of what we had in D1. They took all the good perks, split them up and locked them behind different paths.

2 RepliesDear god no. No

Warlock my only character from day one. I miss it but it was OP I guess. It helped to win matches in my only lighthouse visit in Trials that we surely would have lost. I understand why some non-warlocks wouldn't want it to return.
-
I had forgotten all about it. Honestly, I don’t think we need it - it became too much of a crutch and almost always meant you’d not see the other warlock classes in end game activities. (Then again, same could be said of wellock today...)
-
I miss D1 full stop.

I remember self res became a requirement for the Taken King raid. The self res warlock would take the hit from Shadow of Oryx during the teleport stage. The other thing was it was a pain in the butt during trials because you had to sit on the warlock with a rocket launcher or sword just to make sure they didn’t come back and steal a win from you. So NO do not bring them back!
-
2 RepliesNope. Not even a little. The game is 1000s of times better without it.

4 RepliesIt was for sure cool, but it was entirely a crutch for most people, and a tool to cheese/solo raid for others. It would be a shame to see it come back

3 RepliesEdited by Doom Random: 8/28/2019 2:17:38 PMNope, was actively annoyed by how many one man clears were self-res warlocks who kept saying "See? You CAN one-man this stuff!" Everyone else: That's because your subclass literally cheats death. You can die all you want as long as your self res is up. We can't do that.

3 RepliesIt was broken. Very broken

1 ReplyIt was pretty cool, but I don’t see the use for it in Destiny 2

agreed. when I heard It wasn't in d2, I made my main a hunter

They out here nerfing well making bubble op but still won't fix being thethering through walls. Bungie is a -blam!-ing joke

1 ReplyHonestly.... since there's no trials it would be a wasted skill tree. It was almost a must for that mode... and since in my opinion warlocks have always had a "must have" skill for activities I'm glad to see it go (along with well). I play with all 3 characters and I'm pretty F'n tired of the fact I can't get my Titan into any lfg endgame activity right now. It's totally unfair that warlocks always have a skill tree that makes them the only choice for fireteams in popular opinion.
-
2 RepliesNope. Not at all. It was a cheap ability IMO. Even when it benefited the team during raids and such.
-
I miss it every day. I don't know how many raid runs were saved with self res. It was great when everyone thought oh no we didn't make it across the bridge and had forgot about self res. Then bamb oh shit we are still in it. Good shit

Yes, and I loved sniping the shit out of one when it self resurrects in my face.
-
Nope. I never used it because I liked slinging grenades, and Fireborn gave me less time to do that.
