Shadowshot needs a buff more than any super in Destiny History

I don't feel like I'm exaggerating with the title, though other supers may have had their low moments, Shadowshot is truly atrocious in PvP particularly, and not nearly as useful anymore in PvE before Orpheus Rigs got nerfed. I have at least 2 dozens vids of times where I died before my Tether even finished activating. And yes, I've tried to be smart and tactical on when I use it, but there are so many times where regardless I sneak up, dodge out of cover to shoot it, or anything like that, 3 out of 4 times I use tether, I die. It's insane! So in a crucible match, you see a Striker Titan stampeding towards you and your teammates? Or a Stormtrancer soaring your way? [i]Hmm...Glad I have my tether[/i] you say!! [i]Hell yeah, activate Shadowshot, I'll shut that super right down![/i] [b]NOT!!![/b] They kill you and two of your teammates before it activates. And sometimes, the Titan can destroy the Tether, and then the Striker will come back around and kill you again and your teammates right as you spawn. This exact scenario has happened to me at least 5 times. I've died twice to the same Titan's super at least 30 times, and I've seen Titans get 7-8 kills per super dozens of times, [b]and Tether can't even kill one person one time in one shot[/b]. Just think about that. All I want is Bungie to acknowledge they realize the issues with Tether. They've already mentioned damage resistance reduction that will surely be coming for Striker Titan particularly, but Shadowshot needs a major buff in damage resistance. You shouldn't be able to be killed by an auto rifle before your Tether even activates. That's absurdity. Just acknowledge the issue, Bungie. Let me know it's being worked on. Thanks.

        • Shadowshot really could use some love. In PvE, it's not particularly great because bosses like to move out of it (Which can't happen with Melting Point/Tractor Cannon/Well of Radiance) and it doesn't buff Power Weapon damage (Unlike Melting Point/Tractor Cannon/Well of Radiance) and heck, it doesn't offer anything else at all against bosses either (Unlike Rallicade and Lunafaction can provide auto-reloads alongside these damage amps, Well also provides healing and overshields to allow you to sit there and wail on the boss too) In PvP, it's horribly slow and easily destroyed if it does even proc on someone. In addition to being a terrible Super to use when actually facing an enemy due to its horrible floaty animation and lack of Super Armour that makes you a sitting duck to say nothing about its mediocre damage (Where all other damaging supers are one shots and many even have ridiculous tracking/aim assist) Ward of Dawn and Well of Radiance aren't great in PvP either, but at least WoR is like really good in PvE and WoD at least has default Sentinel Shield that it can use instead.

          • Agreed 100%. Played last night and quickplay was full of strikers and teams chaining with super mods. Gross. Something has to be done with this crap.

          • I’ve been using it for the entirety of this game and I have to say that it is soooo inconsistent in PvP it hurts. I’ve died so many times to a super that is already tethered I’ve lost count. Hell I’ve even died to a super that was even slowed from the tether.

          • JeriahswillGDP You make some valid points and i agree that eververse must be removed from this game but, Whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather, he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank just outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.

            • The amount of time it takes to register the tether and tether the enemy in PvP is dumb. You shoot down your tether to stop an enemy super and they’ve killed you before it’s registered

                • I strongly disagree, purely on the basis of its utility and Orpheus is still useful, I’m amazed it went unnerfed for as long as it did. Also believe the multi shot tether to be immensely underrated, use it all the time and it does a lot of single target damage. Supers that actually need buffed are:- Thundercrash: it should do damage equivalent to Nova Bomb, any one Big Bang super should do Big Bang damage! Top Tree Dawnblade: there is literally no reason to use it over bottom tree which can be mega extended as we all know Nova Warp: It needs to last slightly longer and deal more damage to majors and mini bosses, or give it an exotic which extends duration on kills (maybe incorporate that into Nezarecs Sin) Middle Tree Arc Strider: the reflect ability on this super consumes WAY too much energy and the damage buff you get for successful reflection also needs a duration increase

                  • The better players tend to main Hunter, so they've steadily been nerfed into the ground since the beginning of the Destiny series. Meanwhile, the titan has the potential to kill you 2 times over with a single super.

                      • I like how there is a medal for getting a kill from over 50 meter with the shadowshot but it doesn't kill a full health low resistance guardian... I totally agree with you. It has no place in crucible except for in mayhem and even there the Blade Barrage is better. Also, bottom three of void super, kind of useless. Ps: Why is it that the hunter is the slowest and has the smallest jump between all af the subclasses? I literally wasted an entire ark staff waiting for a titan to stop hovering mid air.

                          • The way i use it now is to just fire it at my feet when the super is within like 50 meters. Don't try to hit him with it. Just give yourself a safe zone. Seems like every super will flat out kill you by the time you go thru the firing animation+projectile travel+tether activation. Making a pre emptive safe zone just works better

                            • coming from a shadowshot main? tether needs a range buff and a boss damage buff. maaaaaybe duration and certainly damage res in pvp but honestly i think thats all. it underperforms often, but i still think it [i]feels[/i] relatively balanced. maybe void the buff (pun intended) and just nerf some of the stuff that combat it so well instead. course, then the titans and warlocks would throw more tantrums about their precious OP roaming supers being balanced for once.

                              • im pretty sure middle tree hammer titan is more in need of a buff. tether is really one of the best pve supers in the game. it sure dont shine at all in pvp, but it does in pve. and the subclass is still great in pvp. where burning maul cant find its identity...pvp its fun to use sometimes but definitely not a competitive option. pve it feels weak even tough the animations looks powerfull and cool. there is no places where i can say "oh i need my burning maul" the subclass is mainly based on the super (that is weak) and the throwing hammer (that is weak but fun sometimes) the hammer can be extremely annoying when you try and need to throw it but you character felt the need to melee the ennemy instead. we need a button just to throw our melees. and the super spin....worst dps and super energy consumption of all time. not even worth using.

                                  As Hunter and Way of the Trapper main, I support this message lol!! Dude, you forgot to mention that you can shoot a DUD with tether. That’s right a DUD people. It’s been a bug in the super since vanilla D2. It can just “not activate”. Secondly is the animation glitch. Where regardless of where you are and your aiming the crosshairs, if you’re close to wall or ceiling guess whether tether is going to stick to? Once again you get one shot to make it right and there’s a bunch of factors that hold her back and make it frustrating. As far as PVE, the rigs suck now, I tethered the whole first wave of thrall and escalation protocol and it only made for orbs. Can we please have “LIGHT OF THE PACK” back please lol. Edit: typo

                                    • Im a Titan main, my second character is a hunter but I havent played with him since Black Armory and yes. Shadowshot needs a buff. When I use Bottom Tree Striker, I know for sure that ANY super can shoot me down very easily. So I expect a super literally made to shoot down supers like Shadowshot to excel at their work but.... It doesnt. Not only you have to land me a direct hit on a shoulder charging titan, but you have to survive long enough for you to kill me, 80% of shadowshots used against me either are missed or I manage to survive and get a kill on the hunter. While arc staff and spectral blades kill me in just 2 swings. Shadowshot reaaaally needs a buff
