Forcing old gear to be obsolete means Bungo doesn't have to try very hard to make new gear "better" than the old gear.
Players would naturally migrate to new gear if it was better than the old gear.
But new content is hard. It's much easier to make old gear obsolete so there is no competition with the new gear. Therefore it's better by default.

No this is how an MMO works . Maybe Bunguie just needs to go full on MMO right when shadowkeep comes out . Then you cry babies will get the damn message
