Base Leviathan and Last wish get close, but not a single raid in destiny 2 has a raid weapon of every type in it's loot pool. It baffles me that every raid in Destiny 1 had an armour set for each class, and one weapon of each type, but not a single raid in Destiny 2 has the same amount of loot. What happens if someone doesn't want the 5 types of weapons in SotP or CoS? Why is there no Last wish shotgun or grenade launcher despite it being the largest raid in the series? Even Crota's end had a full set of weapons, but SotP and CoS get 5 weapons each including the raid exotic? This is probably a big reason people don't raid very much in Destiny 2. Why would I do a raid if none of my 3 favorite types of weapons are even available? Why go through the trouble of a difficult raid if you don't like any of the weapons you can get? I really hope this is fixed for the raid in Shadowkeep...

1 ReplyBecause making content is hard

2 RepliesWhy did raid armor lose its raid specific perks? Should be the topic!
-
It’s hard to look back at how raid loot was handled in D1 compared to now in D2. It almost feels like D2 came first with all the stuff missing from D1.
-
1 ReplyProbably because it would dilute the loot pool, making it even harder to get a specific wrapon/armor piece. Basically: more items in the loot pool = tougher RNG grind.
-
I agree dude even the eater of worlds spire of stars a whopping two weapons a piece and it just filled the rest of. Leviathan loot pool ... I hate what bungie has done to raid loot .. Remember fatebringer Genesis chain d1 had a full weapon pool and beloved weapons .. none of the d2 raid weapons have specific perks or anything it's a big letdown

18 RepliesNo raid sidearm makes me sad :(

I agree, I have not done any of the raids but if I did and it was the same gear popping up all the time, I wouldn't do it either. For me Match Making is the reason I don't raid but I doubt I would do it more than a few times if no different, cooler gear dropped. I find that happening just doing normal stuff in the world, the same crap drops over and over. It's becoming kind of pointless.
-
I’m not sure if I’d want a loot pool that diluted
-
Bungie needs to go back to the way things were in regards to raid loot. In D1, the raid gear had amazing perks, and were usually top notch weapons. In D2, raid weapons may look unique, but are just the same as every other weapon.
-
Probably because there’s very little diversity with the weapons to begin with. If you’ve got a shotgun with trench barrel, then do you really need another? If you’ve got one with one two lunch, do you really need another? If you’ve got a HC with outlaw/rampage, do you really need another? The honest answer, for most, is no. Until Bungie actually start building real diversity into weapons, I don’t think it matters because the only real differences lately have been the way they look. They might as well just start going down a cosmetic route if they aren’t going to diversify better. Even if they added a few more weapons to each raid people wouldn’t do them more because you only get 3 shots a week and raiders are already completing 3 runs anyways. It wouldn’t get more people raiding in my opinion. There are deeper issues with raids than making sure every weapon type is included.

Its been half in the raid and the other half in (new activity) for a while now

2 RepliesEverything in D2 got dumbed down and remains that way.
-
D2 has like 3 or 4 more weapon types and more raids. This isn't exactly a 1 to 1 comparison
-
Unless something has drastically changed in the most recent raid, all the raid weapons have random perk rolls, outside of a curated drop if you get lucky enough. This is vastly different from the D1 and D2Y1 raids that have fixed rolls on weapons, so getting a Ghost Primus or Vision of Confluence means you got the Ghost Primus or Vision of Confluence. If Y2 raids had both a full set of weapons to collect and random perk rolls, you'd be seeing people complain that they can't get a "god roll" fusion rifle because they keep getting the sword or sidearm instead.

Destiny 1 in 4 years and Destiny 2 in 2 years.

Edited by Lull9: 7/26/2019 8:22:28 PMBecause: A) Who cares? What rule of the universe says that every raid has to have a sidearm? B) It's a seasonal loot pool. Some of the themed weapons (even if they don't exactly "match" the set) come from Forges or Menagerie or whatever.
-
Well, I can tell you its a combination of: 1) There are more weapon types in d2 than d1 2) There are more raids, and they are made more frequently with less time inbetween for dev time I think focusing on more quality weapons would be way better than making one for every single class. The thing I miss are unique raid perks and bonuses I.e. Cocoon for Kings Fall guns, and I also miss hard mode versions of guns. I couldn't care less if every raid had a sidearm in it, but I do care that when a sidearm does appear, it has a unique perk and playstyle.
-
1 ReplyActually no, not every raid in D1 had every time of weapon and armour piece
king's fall was missing a sidearm
-
On one hand I feel ya, on the other theres no point when there is a very small percentage of players playing raids.
-
Maybe because Bungie has seen how much more elitist this community has become raid-wise compared to D1. I did Leviathan 3 times and the experience with people has been so different compared to the great memories I have from D1 raids doing lfg as well. Reading the posts for them alone makes me laugh.

Edited by Smough: 7/26/2019 9:17:35 AMI would agree that loot is quite possibly the most disappointing thing about d2 raids, and especially the raid lairs. It was pretty disappointing getting through my first few CoS runs only to realize I had already gotten all of the weapons multiple times. Considering most of the weapons in that raid were reskins, it made it even more disappointing. In a game all about loot, having only 5 weapons in the end game activity should be a crime.
-
13 RepliesIncorrect. We didn’t have full weapons of every type in raids after Crota’s End
-
1 ReplyI don’t think you need a whole weapon set for a raid, especially the raid slots/smaller raids we get throughout the year. Yes, having more loot is always good but I just think a lot of guns would be redundant and just increase the loot pool so much that the things you really want would be harder to get. There are a lot more weapon types now than there was in D1 so even though I haven’t done the math, I’m sure there are roughly the same, if not more weapons and armour total in something like LW compared to VoG. However, I would like raid ornaments back for challenge completions like D1 year 3.

9 RepliesI mean, they do have a lot of weapon types and archetypes within those types. And things take a lot of work to create so.

2 RepliesIt wont be fixed because there is no problem. That's also why raids is more popular then it ever has been. I hope they don't change anything and add more trash guns for the sake of having more guns. Quality > Quantity.
