Enough of this heroic public event bullshit
I'm really sick and tired of putting in work in public events to get them to heroic just for some asshole to turn up and screw it up. Make it so the public event goes heroic or it outright fails

Not everyone has the spacial awareness to realize what you're doing. Yeah, it's frustrating and almost redundant to have an advanced form of public events. I agree with that completely. However, it's only a quest step. Not the end of the world if one public event gets screwed up.

1 ReplyJust make it go auto-Heroic if anyone in the vicinity has the Heroic bounty. That will prevent trolls from trying to prevent PEs from going Heroic. Ditto for WANTED HVTs: if someone kills it while you're in the area, if you have the bounty, it should auto-complete, regardless of whether you got to shoot it or not, since it's too easy to melt the HVT before anyone else can get to it, making it one of PVE's top 10 trolling things that players do because they're jerks. :P

Well I really only care when I’m doing the flashpoint but I have messaged people about this. So far I’ve been polite and just inform them that the event can go heroic and they should look on YouTube or reddit to see how. I imagine in September this will be widespread. I hope we can all be polite when informing new players that they screwed up.

At the very least, people should always try going for heroic PEs during a flashpoint. Heroics get your percentage higher much faster than normals.

Heroic public events are pointless really.. if the loot was made worth while then more people would do heroic public events. Does anyone remember in D1 that public events were tiered and not heroic? Do well in the event and you got rewarded.. I kind of miss that system more, as well as when exotics could drop from doing them. The devs really need to look up the word "rewarding".

If they can be sped up by making them heroic -> Please do so If they take 2-3 mins longer by turning them heroic -> Please finish them on normal, unless someone says they need the heroic version for a quest or smth. Like the cryo cell event in the tangled shore. If noone's saying anything I'll blow these wanted guys away as fast as I can and move on with my life. One more ghost fragment and some extra glimmer change really don't justify the time investment. Same for the Fallen glimmer extraction.

2 Replies% While I always try to go for heroic, with occasional times where I'll burn through the event, no one should be this upset over their precious pub event not becoming heroic. You can solo almost all of em. And if you dont get it heroic then just suck it up and move on. With new light coming out, I cant imagine the amount of rage people will build up when a bunch of level 13's are going to earth, titan, and nessus and screwing over the events because they're new. %

5 RepliesWhat's mind numbing is how many players seem to be clueless as to how to trigger the Heroic version of the event on Mercury! Those crystals aren't easy to destroy alone (at least I have yet to break them in time to form the platforms). I think a lot of players just don't know how to trigger Heroic events. Not enough players watch YouTube videos or read these Bungie Forums.

They just need to make it where the boss can not be killed or spawn in until after the Heroic trigger has been completed or passed on to stay normal like other public events like the Cabal drill where you have to destroy the ship then the boss drops in or he drops in well after you should have been able to destroy it. JMO

1 ReplyDo people really have trouble with this? Maybe I don’t do public events enough, but I’d estimate that 95% are turned heroic in my experience. Also, heroic public events don’t really reward you with much more, so why not just roll with it and move on to the next one? I guess I don’t see the point in raging over this. I see in the comments that people get so -blam!- that they report other players who don’t play the way that they want?! You f’n kidding me? Are you guys 12 years old? “I didn’t get my way, but telling mother Bungie made me feel better” Some people want the glimmer or materials quickly. It’s a legit method to farm. Reporting them for playing the game in a legit way is scumbag as -blam!-.
