Shaders on Exotic weapons
With Destiny becoming more player friendly with the customization system, I'd like to see shaders be applicable on exotic weapons along side shader-compatible exotic weapon ornaments.
Share your thoughts on what you would like to have Bungie make when it comes to player customization!

Honestly, the easy thing to do would be to make the preview option a setting that applies it across the character. You could make it require a minimum amount of shaders to maintain the demand for them (Cough... Bungie... Cough).

I agree with this, cool concept idea! However I doubt we will see this as we already have the exotic ornaments which are basically the closest we will get to shaders. I think its just best as we can notice there uniqueness as a 'Exotic'. [b]Thanks![/b]

They literally have this all ready in the game, just can’t do it which is annoying. If u view a shader while ur character is holding an exotic weapon in the inventory screen it will apply the shader to the weapon as well while viewing the shader only.

My thoughts? Why not both? We already have this luxury with Exotic Armours, why not weapons as well? A lot of people like their weapon colours matching their armour colours.

I like the idea. I want that genotype shader on so many things. Have a horde of them from good old days.

The funny thing is, the system is already made, its just turned off. Easy way to see it: 1) equip a first slot exotic, thus in your menu its the gun your character is holding 2) go to your general shader menu. Pick any old shader and hit preview 3) this pulls up a view of your character where it previews the shader on all of your currently equipped gear You will very clearly see the shader applied to the exotic weapon. So the system is already THERE, all the exotics are set up for shaders to be applied to them.... We just can’t do it So please just turn it on bungie. Changing a guns color scheme is very minor. Ornaments will still be worth getting with Dust (maybe SOMETIMES with silver). Youve been behaving more player friendly lately, lets keep that going

4 RepliesIl be honest I dont want them on exotics. Exotics should be as is as that the weapons identify, it's a set roll. Ornaments should be earnable in game as a rare drop and not just from eververse.

Agreed because some ornaments look like you found your weapon in some rusted junk pile. Now since we have to buy ornaments for real money, I think it is atleast a proper in game currency option.

1 ReplyFunny thing is tho - if you go into preview shaders and you happen to have an exotic primary equipped it will change the colour of the weapon too. This shows that it’s there already in the game, they just need to enable it. I want my Honors of the Nine on my arbalest and outbreak.

6 RepliesLittle known fact: Going into the collection tab and applying a shader to your entire character will change the colour of your equipped exotic primary weapon. If you want to see the glory that is the golden Outbreak Perfected, apply Caluses Selected shader. The coding is there, Bungie just won't let us do it.
