I could have sworn 6 months ago there was a statement of fixing load times on ps4. Yet they keep getting longer, and longer, and more glitchy lagged connections, and worse. This is not my connection as hundreds of thousands of everyone on a damn ps4 experience it...when is this going to be worked on??? Let alone fixed????

Is it bad that I am memorizing planet and fast travel locations so I can click them and start going to my location before they load on my screen?

3 RepliesDo yourself a favor and get an external SSD. I did and my load times are nominal now. The console HDD's are slow as molasses.

I love when I jump into a game and I have to do a quick load out and it takes 20 seconds for the menu to load... I'm dead before I can switch out gear. It really shouldn't be that big of a deal to have the menu load all that quickly at least. The load time for that is just stupid.

1 ReplyYou are right it isnt your connection but hardware. This is something even bungie can't fix without making big sacrifices for performance.

Buy an SSD, problem solved

1 ReplyEdited by StealthJediPro: 6/24/2019 5:55:30 AMYUUS PS4 exclusive just for your. Get ready to pony up $500 moar to fix load times. 😁 I'm not just about the troll Sony does that. Here are a few solutions next console 1) buy a better rated similar pc to this $700 PC that's super powered. https://www.walmart.com/ip/OVERPOWERED-Gaming-Desktop-DTW1-2-Year-Warranty-Intel-i7-8700-NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-1070-256GB-SSD-2TB-HDD-16GB-Dual-Channel-RAM-Windows-10/621888364?u1=pcg-3350704887217098495&oid=674852.1&wmlspartner=kXQk6*ivFEQ&sourceid=03313490322369965886&affillinktype=10&veh=aff 2) Buy a external SSD for your console if that is a option for you.

If it’s broke, don’t fix it.

4 RepliesI never suffer from this one my Xbox one X thanks too my SSD. Use your brain and buy one

3 RepliesListen when i tell you to invest in an ssd. Internal or external. It is SO worth it, Amazon has $49 externals with 256gb. There's better ones obviously, but it's worth it. Trust me. (Pro tip, xbox users, it must be 256gb or larger. Xbox won't recognize anything smaller. I don't know about play station)

This is just another way Bungie caters to the casual player. "Got some house work that's needs to get done? Don't worry, with our absurdly long load times give you plenty of time to get everything done between your strikes or crucible matches."
-
Don't worry, the ps5 is supposed to fix this for bungie.
-
3 Repliesits a hardware issue. most ps4 games have damn long loading times.
-
On xbone, Destiny and Destiny 2 are the only games I play with these weirdly long load times for menus, etc... Kills the pace. Some times I finally load into a planet and wonder what I went there for.
-
I honestly don’t bother myself with these problems. I don’t mind waiting a minute more for activities. But maybe I’m just a patient person.

I'm on PS4 Pro and have been cursing on these D2 loading times for a long time now. Last friday I went and bought me a Crusial MX500 SSD. It's like a brand new console. I timed the startup if Destiny 2 after the HD swap. From pressing X to character select screen, 53 seconds, then another 7 seconds and I'm in orbit. I regret not timing it with the stock drive installed, but I'm sure that would clock in at 4-5 minutes. And that's not all, inventory, pursuits and all that stuff loads almost instantly now aswell... So, if you have about $150 laying around, go buy an SSD and do the swap. Sony's stock HDD is a cheap 5400 RPM one not even fit for pure storage use.

7 Repliesever since I installed Anthem on my PS4 it started making toast for no logical reason, also i have no clue where my PS4 finds bread. The other day it started smoking for no logical reason as it said it needs to relax, and it takes the edge off, and it keeps calling me Steve. For no Logical reason this story is utter bullshit.

18 RepliesI shit you not, I was running from Ikora to banshee up the stairs. Hit a loading screen. Dinner time anyway...I'll be back.... 45 mins later I come back, Xbox on idol...I grab controller expecting to log in again....nah..still at that loading screen. I had to switch characters. Xbox 1x, 3 TB external seagate HD

3 RepliesEdited by Northern: 6/23/2019 3:27:37 PM168 seconds to appear in orbit after launching Destiny 2 on PS4 pro. Travelling from tangled shore to the tower took 62 seconds. If memory serves, didn't Bungle claim they'd improved loading times.....

12 RepliesI agree. Load times are increasing, start after June 4th. My internet connection 1Gbps up and down. On PS4 there was a Playstation System update, we ran after June 15th. Comparing load times between June 4th to 15th and 15th to today 23rd, Destiny about the same. Comparing before June 4th and now, load times are painfully slower. Status that I experienced June 4th to now: from a cool boot of PS4 and launching Destiny 2 from start screen 30 seconds from Destiny 2 press "X" to start to Character choice menu 150s from Destiny 2 to main Tower 279s from main Tower to Tower Annex e.g. Where Drifter and Ada are 220s from main Tower to Mars 180s from main Tower to Crucible between 120 to 300s (yes, I can sometimes make a Sandwich and Coffee and still be waiting to the destination to load.) from Crucible to Crucible matches to 300s. from main Tower to Strike between 60 to 72s from main Tower Annex to Gambit 180 to 245s from Gambit to Gambit up to 180s for ones after. from Planet to Planet between 60s to 265s from starting a Forge between 39s to 60s I did not test raids, nightfalls.

3 RepliesWe have the same problem on Xbox x have Internet that is faster than the speed of light. But until Bungie invest in their own dedicated servers think this is going to be a regular thing

I saw the twab too...did not notice any improvement at all
