Dear Ikora Rey, My apologies for the long absence. It has come to my attention that I was considered a prime suspect in the murder of the hunter Vanguard, Cayde 6. Though my innocence is solid, I know of many that would take this opportunity to bring an end to me. Rather than exposing the city to the inevitable violence that would ensue, I've chosen to step away. The city and the tower have been home to me for many years even with the many lows I have been met with. There are the select few I will miss. I would be remiss if I didn't acknowledge the pleasures I've had in my time here. However, I feel it is best I've explored different paths to ultimately better serve humanity. Though I have chosen to work alongside this drifter, I will not be dawning the title, 'Dredgen'. There have been many Warlocks before me who have fallen victim to the beckoning of darkness. I venture forth with their experiences as guidance. besides, nothing can be more consuming than the blanket of the void. To Commander Zavala, Your recent choices as head of this city's Vanguard have been questionable at best by myself and many others. However, I have to express a level of respect for the man... The Titan, that takes the city, the whole of the Guardian force and all of humanity firmly on his shoulders, yet never buckles. More than a few times you've let Your Role affect your actions in ways that most will call "unnecessary". Remember that you are here to guide and protect, not parent. We are Guardians, not combat frames. Allow us to make judgment calls. Risk are a part of life. You spend all your life playing it safe and you'll never truly thrive. As a wise leader once told me, "Survival is a temporary state..." To the Praxic Order, Yes, I have decided to side with the Drifter. This dose not and will never make me an 'enemy of humanity'. If at any point you feel that my actions warrant your moving into action, please note that I have never been one to mesh well with authority. I stand wholeheartedly behind all that I believe and should I find my actions to be ill-fated for humanity, I will personally carry out any and all actions necessary to ensure our survival. This also stands if my personal being is threatened in any way. This choice I made was not an easy one. It took weeks to come to this. I believe this is the best course of action for myself. I will stop by from time to time but this is who I am... Not much is set to change really.
