Is it bad that I went back to playing Destiny from Destiny 2?
As someone who's been with Bungie from the first Halo, I've enjoyed playing everything they have been a part of but Destiny 2 just hasn't pulled me in like the other titles. I've put in a total of 519 hours in Destiny 2 (99 on PS4 and 420 on PC) and 699 hours total (517 PS4 and 182 Xbox One) in the first Destiny game. I won't go into an hour breakdown of the Halo games but they've all drawn me in a ton but the urge to play Destiny 2 just isn't the same. Not to say it's a bad game because when Forsaken dropped I played it a ton and enjoyed it but still don't have the urge to play it when I get off work as I did with the first game.
Just want to know if the content will ever have the same draw and what the future will look like since I love the Destiny franchise. Also, what are your thoughts and what have you been playing if you feel the same way.
Would also enjoy a Destiny remaster for the PC as a place holder after the end of Destiny 2 so you all have plenty of time to make Destiny 3 (or whatever it'll be called) amazing.
Edit: I don’t only play Destiny and the “is it bad that I went back...” is more throwing shade at Destiny 2 than an actual question. The fact I have to make this edit is ridiculous but the internet takes everything I say literally...
Edit: Not to say Destiny 2 is a bad game I enjoyed it otherwise I wouldn't have put so much time into it. The only way to make Destiny a relative game again is to play it just saying.

1 ReplyI don't get the title. Why would it be bad? Plenty of players went back to playing older Halo games. Hell, remember how desperately some players clung to Halo 2 right up to the shutdown of its servers?

No apart from a few things like mantling and improved jumps and graphics, D1 is a far superior game.

1 ReplyI don’t care what others say and I’m not ashamed to say I went back to D1 from D2 also. I play D1 on PS4 and Xbox so hit me up if you ever want to raid. DarthBra on Xbox and XX-DarthBra-Xx on PS4. I was so ready to leave D1 for D2 and I never thought I would find myself playing it again, But here we are, I am now spending my time between Anthem and D1.

I honestly am not surprised but also I wish they would add back in the special events back into D1 to. I feel they only took things likes Trials out of D1 to make/force people to go to D2

I have done the same, but I made a new account to start from scratch because my main account has everything D1 just feels like a deeper game, and more fun

Idk if it’s their goal to ruin Bungie or if they’re just this awful...but the ruin of Bungie is and will continue if they don’t course correct. D2 has continued to get worse...and now they don’t have the craptavision buffer. I pray they fire that influence because I LLLOOOVVVEEEDDD D1, and miss it dearly. I mean who throws away ALL THAT EPIC CONTENT??? I guess the same kinda toolbag that came up with headshot penalties (late D1), taken captains, and seasonal rank resets. ALL PURE GARBAGE, fundamentally lazy, amateur hour, poop.

D1 is still the superior game even after x number of D2 patches.

I personally enjoyed D1 more in Y1, but that's because of the horrible dual primary weapon system that was in place. After that was patched, I ended up liking D2 a bit more. Now, if only Trials of Osiris were still around in D1...

Edited by Demon_XXVII: 2/27/2019 3:18:34 PMI played Destiny from beta Y1, (XB360, Titan, as a total lone wolf, no mic, no time for social) & whilst I enjoyed the campaign, strikes, NF, PoE, etc ....I've never fully raided (only 4 times in total, zero completion), & never played as a Hunter/Warlock.....so I'm happy to log into Destiny and play through again....and now with a clan, going back to Destiny & running story/NF/plaguelands/Siva/heroic modifiers etc, searching for missing ghosts/gold chests & having a laugh attempting Raids ....That's sounding tempting! And even with my very limited vault on PS4 Destiny - I've noticed my Titan looks a damn sight better!

1 ReplyI think they purposely left the special ammo economy, 1hk sticky grenades and shoulder charge glitch in the game at the end so players didn’t go back and play it.

Destiny will always have a place in my heart. Please, add me on PSN and I will gladly play anything Destiny 1 still has to offer. Unfortunately, almost all the events are gone, but we can still run strikes and stuff

Tbh i love d1 a lot more bc i have so much more that haven't done and pve is actually far more fun compared to d2 and pvp is way more balanced than d2 even if its bc no one uses the meta and nothing has changed from the very last patch bungie released for the game but there is a lot of variety to the loadouts in pvp and very rarely are 2 ppl using the same guns in the same match I mean occasionally youll get that one match where either 1 person or the entire team is being really toxic but thats normal and they are pretty easy to kick off their little tower My only problem really with the game is toxic ppl in raids

I like D1 and D2 a lot, but if someone asked me which is better, I would without hesitation say D1.

3 RepliesBad for you? Heck no, D1 is a far superior experience. Bad for Bungie? Yes it is. Incompetence and hubris. Bungie managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory with D2.

Since D1 isn't available for PC, I reloaded Star Trek Online to see what new ships have entered the space combat genre.

My boys still do the raids every week on D1. I still enjoy D2 comp on PC with my clan, but D1 is for sure the superior title.

I never stopped playing Destiny 1, it is my favorite. Weapons and Armer are better in my opinion.
