I havent completed any raid other than leviathan, and I want the cool stuff such as 1k and anarchy(in some distant universe where my rng is that good) but im just intimidated by the idea of bad players, toxic a**holes, and people who are just borderline incompetent, so is raiding really that werf?

Make your own groups.

3 RepliesI use guided games ppl are chill

Raid layers are the better raids, shorter and easier to explain. Scourge is like that so go for it
-
Come join us. I had never completed a D2 raid until last week. Our guys don’t mind helping out at all and explain everything very well.

Raiding is the best thing to do in Destiny. I have done every raid except for Scourge and they are alot of fun. Just make sure you put your own team together with like minded players that maybe their first time with the raids you are trying to do. That will make it alot better, due to not getting any tryhards in you fireteam that just rage quit after the 1st single death. Other then that just go have fun man, that is what video games are for. Alot of people on here have forgotten that unfortunately.

Get into scourge of the past, it is really fun and not too hard, It just requires you to memorize the maps.
-
It's fun when everyone knows what to do
-
I kinda want to get into raiding, but reading through the encounters in Last Wish makes me go like "This is the opposite of fun" Except Kalli, I like trying to solo her. Need that Whisper to finally take her down tho.
-
I wouldn't recommend honestly, the new raids are boring and the only thing they have going for them are the exotics, which have such a low drop rate, personally I quit doing them because it's just a waste of time
-
No. Simple ;)
-
Raids are awesome. You might run into the occasional toxic group, but it’s nowhere near as bad as the people here make it to be.
-
Yeah! The raid encounters and loot are very nice and unique. But be warned the LFG for raids is very VERY Elitist and can be hard sometimes to find groups if you’re not experienced but you got this😘.
-
Watch videos of the encounters and see if they look like fun things to do. Because you’ll spend a lot of time doing them, especially at first. I don’t think the raids in D2 are particularly fun; once I feel like I’ve done the dance steps enough times, I’m done.
-
Yes. Watch a video to get a rough idea of each encounter and ask the people if you have questions. Just be honest. I have played solo since Vanilla and found all raids on LFG and let me tell you this game is only Worth playing with raids. Seriously if they announced they were stopping raids I would quit. It is by far the best thing in the Destiny franchise since it became a franchise.

if everyone in the raid team has done it except for you then you should be fine, we carry people often like that but more than one sometimes it gets hairy
-
Raids could be fun if done with friends. I can not imagine myself doing this shit with randoms. Its like going to bar with some people from the street. Doable but boring AF (until drunked) and maybe dangerous. lol.
-
All of the most fun, and also most frustrating times ive had throughout the destiny franchise have been while raiding. Its a two sided coin, but i enjoy it more than it gets me frustrated.
-
I think perhaps I should as well. Maybe I'll get that last piece of gear to get me from 649 to 650 🙄 Nah, not worth the hassle
-
Complaining about toxicity and calling other players incompetent and bad in the same sentence. Nice one buddy.

Edited by Pure: 12/30/2018 2:18:54 AM
toxic a**holes, and people who are just borderline incompetent
Way to contradict yourself in a single sentence. Either you are always positive and help others and bear with them while even the most inept players try to complete the raid, or you are selective and try to complete the raid as fast and as cleanly as you can in which case toxicity ...if you want to call it that.. is inevitable. Make your own squad if you dont want to deal with other peoples requirements, its not really hard, nor are the raids. As for the rest of your question, the raids are nothing if not fun. Sure the loot is good, sure the exotics can be powerful. At the end of the day though it doesnt really matter, there is no content hard enough to require the best guns. I play raids daily since they are fun, more rewarding to complete than just mindlessly killing stuff and i enjoy doing all the triumphs like raid challenges and completing collections.
-
I’d go back and play the D1 raids first tbh, they’re way better than D2’s. I do think D2’s are still worth doing, but they’re just nowhere near as good or immersive as VoG, Crota, KF and WotM.

with over 700 total in d1, all with random lfg, I still havn't touched a raid in d2. don't see the point.
-
Yep! Got all my completions from lfg

Look, I am gonna be real and will probably get a lot of flak here but you REALLY should get into raiding. It is a alot of fun if you enjoy PvE content. Most people who tell you not to get into it on here probably don't have that many clears or any at all. The problem with raids isn't raiding it is the people you raid with. If you don't have friends to consistently play with then it may be harder for you. Try to get a friend group if you can that you trust and can talk to. Once you have a couple clears of a raid no resonable team is going to decline you so basically you have free reign of LFG. LFG'ing first clears is almost never a good idea unless you have previously specified to the team you are new. You probably have gotten other offers but I noticed you are on Xbox so if you want you can send me a message if you ever want to raid. My GT is the same. Just to say it again. If you want any of the guns it really is worth it. Regardless of what people say.
