Nova Bomb shouldn’t hurt or kill the user

13 RepliesYou still use Nova Bomb? Its one of the worst supers in the game and I use to love it in D1. Nove Bomb is in a bad place right now. There is no reason to use it. A simple fix is to bring lance and shatter back. Top tree Nova Bomb is too slow in PVP and doesn't to enough damage in PVE. Bottom tree is usless in both PVP and PVE. Its a panic super at best. Lance and Shatter had real uses in both PVE and PVP. Ask yourself these two quesitons: When was the last time (outside of mayhem) did you get killed or even see a nova bomb in PVP. If you play a warlock when was the last time your fireteam asked you to play nova bomb?

I get why it hurts you..... But it makes the super useless. Takes too long to throw and travel with too small explosion radius.

6 RepliesDisagree. The void requires sacrifice to master. Grab a copy of d1, Get your obsidian mind on grab the baddest of jujus and go run first part of crota's end til you can solo it. Dodging your own novas becomes less of an issue afterwards.

Edited by DiZ: 12/30/2018 9:48:41 AMFun(and somewhat relevant) fact: Nova [i]Warp[/i] is bigger than Nova [b][i]Bomb[/i][/b]. NW's charged attack exceeds the blast radius of its quite literal one-n-done counterpart by nearly double(in regards to Vortex Nova Bomb, not Slowva Bomb).

Nova wouldn’t have to kill the player if bungie replaced both nova bombs with lance, imagine the top tree moving at the speed of a bullet, bottom tree nova would benefit greatly from a really fast straight moving nova bomb too. The only reason nova bomb sucks is because its really slow and the explosive radius is not good enough, for a one and hit type of super, wouldn’t it make sense for the radius to be gigantic? The explosive radius from a nova bomb needs to be the biggest explosion in the game, it makes no sense why my nova warp has a bigger radius than my nova bomb. The radius being bigger would also backfire on players who use nova bomb as a panic super too, I don’t mind getting killed by nova bomb at close range but it needs to move really fast and be extremely deadly when I decide to toss it at farther ranges. There is absolutely no reason to ever toss a nova right now at long ranges because both are too slow and players easily move out of the way which is another reason blade barrage is 10x better than nova bomb at the moment.

1 ReplyI been saying this since D1. There is no other super in the game that you can kill yourself with aside from Nova Bomb. Truly doesn’t make any sense!! I don’t care if it has bomb in the name either. It’s your character’s super for gods sake.
