So. Anyone else think the whole "World's First" thing is rigged?

Just a thought. More of a conspiracy theory, really. I'm bored, so.... I always find it strange that, within the first week of content being released, that a WHOLE TEAM of six can get their Light (yes, light!) Levels up high enough to get through a raid. And then, of course, they beat it before anyone else. I mean, one would almost have to have pre-existing knowledge of the raid. Mechanics, enemy placements and numbers, etc, etc. We root for them, and we celebrate them. And then we give them Title Belts. Just like in Pro-Wrestling. And that's rigged too. Now, come at me!

  • There were guys in my clan who were close to 650 on day 1 and many above 640. It requires planning weeks ahead and need a bit of RNG

  • Honestly, I think your incorrect on every level. It's not hard to power level almost the moment a new light level increase happens. All you need to do is hoard powerful gear bounties 1-3 weeks before the change. Once it happens one at a time them and you jump 20-30 LL easy if you have enough. Add the weekly and daily powerful gear drops (Which there are a ton but quite a few are not shown on the director) Getting 30-40 light levels in the first week is perfectly feasible. Plus you can level one character and move your weapons over to give the next character a nice boost. Do that again with your third character and you really boost them up quick. Next, did you even watch Datto's stream of Last Wish? 24:02 hours is the total time from start to finish for them to do the raid blind. It took them 3 hours to do Scourge on a raid that has already been speed runned in like a hour or less and even the Scourge's mechanics are not hard. As someone who watched a few streams of each world first attempt I can tell you they just process of elimination the mechanics until they made progress. Serious PvE players really don't need their hand held when it comes to new content. They adapt to it quickly and are able to counter it using tactics they've learned while playing.

  • I most definitely think it's rigged in the sense that it targets the streamers who can play 24/7 to reach a level to do it. This is new beginning with Foresaken that the light level is so high that regular players don't really have a shot at completing it on opening day. That's a bummer too because they are losing fans over this. I'm a hardcore raider and I used to take Raid Release day off of work, get a crew together and run it. We were so utterly deflated after a RIDICULOUS light level for Last Wish where the day was a complete waste of time that I doubt I'll ever do it again. Used to run multiple raids every day and sherpa lots of people... now, nope. I won't watch streamers either because I'm so utterly disappointed in the direction Bungie is going with this. Either the light level needs to be more reasonable or the time between release and raid launch needs to be extended. It's simply not good business to exclude the vast majority of your paying customers from the excitement of running a raid on opening day. Like many, I've been a die hard Destiny fan from the beginning. I'm just not liking the direction they are going with Raids in terms of catering to streamers. P.S. Modifiers and curated loadouts were the dumbest thing EVER to hit the Raid scene. That shit is for Strikes, not Raids. I hope we DO NOT see a return of that nonsense!

    • I guess it depends on your definition of rigged. I dont think the team that wins is predetermined, but I do think they arrange things to eliminate 95% of the community from the race. After all Bungie doesnt really get any extra PR if some team of randos wins. Gotta be one of their streamers. Also I believe the streamers are given early access to the content to level up early. Or there's something funky going on with their drops. I dont have any proof, but I no-life this game pretty hard when new content drops and after completing everything I possibly could I'm still under 615. I've even tried the bullshit "fast leveling" guides the streamers put out. All of that shit is heavily reliant on your luck with the RNG. If you aren't getting the drops you need then it doesnt matter what order you do shit in or how much you grind. So unless all those teams just have a ridiculous amount of good luck, there's no way those guys are just grinding out strikes and shit to get that high that fast.

        • This race was the worst too, cause on top of the over levelling, multiple teams were DDoSed and couldn't compete.

Well, the power increase thing came about because they hoarded forsaken powerful drop bounties, then opened them after the dlc released...there have been times it's worked and times it's not in destiny's history and it just so happens that the progression system would have kept ANYONE from completing the raid in 24 hours if they hadn't hoarded bounties...that would have been interesting, another 19 hour world's first lol...2 raids in a row the progression system has kept me fron even being able to attempt the raid in the first week, let alone beat it in the first day...yes, I'm salty about that and if bungie wants to promote preparing for dlc before it hits, then that's what I'll start doing too...I'm not gonna pretend I can compete for world's first but I WOULD like a shot at the emblem and the cool jackets they offer because i might actually get one, one of these days, if I can get a chance earn it (and pay for it lol)

            • Don't care if it's rigged or not. It's a stupid contest to see which group of six guys can go the longest without taking a break (or sleeping, in some cases) in order to beat the other group of diehards for a chance at a title that means nothing other than "We take this entirely too seriously". So if the system is rigged to have one team get the title before the other shmucks, yay for them. I'll be over here playing the game at my own pace without having to worry whether someone else is going to beat whatever activity im doing before I do.

If you’re maticulous in when to do certain milestones power levelling is not all that hard (rng does play into this)... but the raid race itself seemed dodgy to me, I noticed in gigz stream one of his team mates had got on his sparrow after their “first” opening of the servitor door, and another member mentioned they have to “sparrow race” a couple of seconds after their wipe.... seemed like prior knowledge to me to some point

Literally the sweatcicle videos and whatever talking about how to level up you should actually do it because they know what's the true BS about the milestone system.

                • For sure the jag-offs have prior knowledge. I remeber the best WF race was the oryx raid...some unknown random 6 man blew everyone out of the water. It was great. Those days it was just for pride. Light level wqs designed for us to reach 610 in a week-ish of hard playing, and in 5 weeks or so casuals will be ready. I hit 128 last night and it took 3 characters and that one had 6 powerful bounties saved for weeks to help. Ppl were 650 like day 2...aside from running the same class on more than one character or restarting characters. I duno how they hit 650...

                  • The light leveling system is the reason why. Apparently the best way to crank up your light was saving completed iron banner bounties in your inventory to pop among all of the triumps. It took strategic leveling choices to have a chance. They should have held off another week or two on the raid release.

                  • People had saved up there iron banner bounties, spider bounties, gambit bounties, and Petra bounties and then they did weekly power gear stuff. They did this on all three characters. If you really went that hard, you deserve to be at 625+

                      • I'm convinced that Bungie "helps" the top streamers prior to any new release, raid, whatever, to give them a leg up on everyone else. It's in their best interests financially to do so. I was watching, I won't name who, they were all teamed up, one had over 21k viewers when the raid was happening. They had light levels I could only dream of last week when it happened. They already know the mechanics, sometimes they "fake" it to make it look not so obvious. Sickening.

I laugh at the news of "world's first", as though it's some huge achievement. More important things in life, that actually impact the lives of the earth's inhabitants, is news worthy. And yes it's rigged.

                          • Did you save all your Iron banner bounties on all 3 characters? Last 3 ascendant challenges bounties on all your characters? Last 3 Spider Bounties on all your characters? Did you do all milestones and clan engrams? Yea it's totally rigged for them to be worlds first. Or maybe they learned how to save bounties.....

                          • It’s not rigged necessarily, but Bungie definitely designed it so only the people with vacation time or twitch careers could even have a chance at these races (except EoW).

It’s always the popular streamers who get worlds first, so yea... that pretty much gives it away As for being a gig enough light level... that’s just because they play this game for a living and have enough time to grind
