Pretty much. Bungie didn't want 1 single weapon to be 10x better than any other option in that same slot.
Which is what EP shotty is.

I’m surprised ep shotty lasted this long without a nerf. The gun still puts out more dps than any other gun with only punching to proc trench barrel for those first 3 shots.

But it's far easier to get than ghorn. Eveyone had access to the shotgun.

Yeah I think most people saw this coming. Honestly ep shotty is still useful you just gotta melee after that third shot to re-proc trench barrel.

The complaints are crazy. It’s still a full auto, 100 rpm shotgun with an 8 round mag. Even if you only proc TB once it still probably outdamages everything.

I agree with you. Melee, 3 shot, melee, 3 shot, melee, 2 shot, reload = enemy dead.
