Very unlikely. Maybe they could do it with one of those "Crucible Labs" things?
I thought it was pretty damn fun when the Lens was broken.
And honestly, why stop there? Why not boost the damage of other less used weapons for short periods of time? I think it would add some fun and excitement to The Crucible.

Mabey a game mode where it rotates power through weapon types to encourage play with specific weapons. It would be optional to play of course.
