Lol n00ds.

A few things. The community can be trash like that. You have a low light level. There are not enough people who do help. My clan does help so just PM Ace if you want to raid.

7 RepliesI've been both a noob and teaching noobs raid lairs all weekend after learning myself. There will still be a few dicks who just want it done and over is the problem. The game is a chore to them. Big problem with all game community's. They're in it for the loot and not the fun. I understand the raid for the tenth time can be less fun but damn it I'm not even playing if all I want is loot and no fun. But yeah just be open and watch videos first. If you say "I have no idea" I can see why they would groan. That literally adds almost an hour onto the raid time on explanation alone. Consider that first. So watch a video. Say "I know what to do mostly from a video I watched but bear with me. Do you have any tips? What role should I be?" They will be more open to that.

I’ll help noobs if I can and have the time On school weeks I don’t have much time to teach every encounter so I put must KWTD. On holidays when I have time I can help. LW is actually not that hard to teach.

Edited by OriginalMrDave: 11/19/2018 10:20:11 AMGo on reddit. Loads of people on there posting about helping folks. Come to the Bungie for mum for toxicity and slat. Go to reddit for help and useful info. Also be sure to help yourself out, know which raid you’re doing and study a raid guide video for it (Datto, Kakis etc do really go in depth raid guides) that way you’re not going in completely blind and you have at least a bit of knowledge of each encounter.

What console. I think we can arrange something my friend

1 ReplyBecause it takes monumental patience and steady desire to help others. Both are very rare.

Make your own Fireteam with your own requirements. Request Sherpa's to join you and show you the ropes. https://www.reddit.com/r/Fireteams/

What raid?, if it's the last wish, i can understand a bit, you'd need to get your light up, 546 will be rough. If it's the Y1 raids, not many are running those now as they drop 380 gear.
-
9 RepliesFor those citing your light level as the reason you can't get into a group, know that at 580 I couldn't find a group that was willing to teach me, and I did my homework. unfortunately, walkthrough videos don't necessarily help me learn it faster. I felt that people were more willing in D1 because of how much larger the player base was. Now, when people put together a team, they just want it over with. The raid is mechanically intensive and people don't want to spend as much time with it. I don't fault people for that, just for being d**ks It's just how things are right now. Everyone taking the time to put the OP down for an issue that affects all of my high level friends that are also new to the raid and can't put together a team is facilitating the toxicity and proving the point.

Mistakes most noobs make wanting to raid. 1. Do your research. (Watch a video or two on the raid.) 2. Get the raid "required" weapons. There is no excuse for not having quest related exotics... Example: sleeper simulant. (You'll find out which weapons are best by watching a video or two...) 3. Noob to vets ratio: In the party there should be no more than 2 noobs on average. Raiders with some experience are still learning some of the mechanics. (There are many "veteran raiders" out in the wild with multiple completions. That just shoot adds for the most part. Not understanding the mechanics of the raid. 4. Be patient because others may not: Understand what may seem difficult to you. Others may find it easy. So when you die multiple times. Doing the same thing over and over again... The people trying to teach you will be get frustrated and eventually leave. 5. If you don't know what to do. Say something! This is the worst thing a noob can do. Don't expect sympathy or help from anyone. If you're not honest about what you know...
-
Maybe it's because your highest character is a 546 light level. and trough the whole raid it's required 560 - 580. if you are under the recommended light level. people are instantly going to turn you down due to smaller damage output, and how easy the adds can kill you.

2 RepliesFolks, did he or she ask for a carry? not pointing my finger at the OP but the rest of yah! Talk about being entitled, best we all do a reality check at the door with this selfish crap...and greed, greed greed *face palm* just listen to what is being said.. This isn't about LFG, it's about helping a fellow guardian for crying out loud. I bet every single swinging D.... posting these comments to said poster would beg, plead and whine at 504, "I will be good player and stay outta the way" then once completed, "Get LFG good scrub!!! Watch a YOUTUBE vid yah wanna be!" Take this self righteous attitude somewhere else, cause I ain't buying it..

5 Repliesthe new raid type is unforgiving to errors and result in a wipe.. a single underdog can ruin a perfectly good run and wipe the team..Bungie wanted to have more players involved but instead they egalized all roles so that everyone must be good at everything in the raid.. in D1 there were easy and complicated roles and the raids were doable even with noobs.. now you need to explain everyone everything.. take the heart phase, you need to know the way , point 1.. there is no use in having noobs here since they will simply not know where to go.. they need to know that they need to count.. they need to know that they need to stay away from the runner when the timer hits zero they need to know that they must look at the bottom of the screen once the timer hits zero if their name is on they need know that you need to pick it up they need to know that after two times you will be teleported to another place they need to know that they need to hit the orb when the timer hits 3 they also need to know that there will be 1 , 2 and 3orbs spawning and they need to communicate with the team they need to know that they can't pick up more than 2 orbs or they will wipe. they need to know that after the runner reached the end they need to shoot at it again. and all this while shooting adds and trying to keep u with the runner who is as fast as they or they die, and not die due to adds. quite easy for a noob to memorise, huh?

5 RepliesBungies fault for too many mechanics in the raids.
-
1 ReplyNo rewards after my initial run means I'm not going to bother helping people since I get zilch out of the run. Also (like others have said) the raid is unforgiving when it comes to mistakes. Far too many mechanics result in a wipe if failed or simply don't explain themselves clearly requiring someone to either explain it in detail or the noob to watch a video (which they never do beforehand). It's basically a giant pain helping new players with little benefit to those helping.
-
4 RepliesMost people new to the raid have various issue, dont watch videos and don't have any high dps weapons. I've helped a few guys get there first completion but last wish is tricky for most people an don't have 5 hours spare to teach. Either make your own group or find a Sherpa, you don't just get free lessons, put the effort in.

I blame elitism and the revive token system, that makes the casual raid more stressful.. People dont want to rely on or help new players because of the idea that they make too many mistakes, which force team wipes due to the token system in the raid. As well as people just have no patience or tolerance in this community.

Edited by PasteteDoeniel: 11/19/2018 9:18:08 AMCouple tips after looking at your profile. 1. Try and get the sleeper simulant if you don’t have it already. 2. Get to around 570 power (580 would be absolute golden) 3. Try to get a cluster rocket launcher or if you don’t have that the tractor cannon. 4. Get the escalation protocol shotgun (it’s an absolute beast) 5. Watch guides of the raid-encounters. I only saw your Bungie.net profile but if you would join with your hunter (which seems to be the highest power) I would kick you too. You’re ill equipped and on top of that underpowered. At your current state you would be dead weight in the last wish raid.

Edited by D2_Dahaka_PAL: 11/19/2018 7:45:02 AMSearch for a sherpa. Alot of raids people just want to blast through quickly for the loot and don’t wantto take the extra time teaching someone. That being said, having 1 new person in a group shouldn’t cause too much hassle unless they’re completely useless. It’s not always elitism, sometimes people just want to get it done quick.
-
1 ReplyGenerally it is since people just want to do it to get the loot so if you join on on fireteam finder you are expected to have knowledge. Normally it is reasonably easy to get someone new through if people have the time. There are plenty willing to teach. Just put out a fireteam request asking for a Sherpa and you usually will get a bite if it on the weekend.

First last wish raid I ever tried was with 2 guys who had absolutely no knowledge of the raid. Took a few hours but we got up to the ogre boss then quit as it was too late for some and we were underpowered. Great bunch of lads though had a right laugh. Not a elite stressy tosser in sight for once. Just gota get lucky with groups mate
-
Nobody wants to help you because you haven't even bothered to put the effort in to obtain the appropriate gear, or even level for a raid.
-
i love playing with nubs. seriously. if any of you nubs wanna raid, lemme know. i'll set something up with other people who like playing with nubs.
-
1 ReplyI get what you are saying, hard call. Remember the “pros” were previously “noobs” but they played with other noobs to complete the raid. So why don’t the noobs get together to finish the raid first just like the pros
