You'd have a point if all players were on a level playing field but they arent. Surely you're not arguing that pvp in this game is competitive? Because it's not. Also a D1 vet playing gambit and say, a guy who started in Forsaken are not on level playing field either. One will have ad clearing exotic weapons of mass destruction, while the other will have some blues, maybe a legendary or two. Are they on even ground in your eyes?
Do you think the latter is going to have fun constantly getting thrashed by vets? Do you think hes gonna want to keep playing?
These are things Bungie takes into consideration, things they have to, because while it would be nice if they designed D2 specifically to yours or my liking, every paying player deserves an enjoyable experience playing.

Edited by xilxad: 11/1/2018 7:16:42 PMThat is the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard, so i guess every football team deserves a championship, every tennis player deserves gold medals, people who play chess, checkers and monopoly should take turns winning. Wow you are in for some very big shocks in life.

You are aware this is a video game right? There's no million dollar check here, no tournaments, barely even any in game rewards. Why are you comparing two completely diffeeent forms of game here? Besides, if the NFL had to house little league as well as college players to go against the pros you can best believe theyd give the former some form of head start or aid, or else the pros would be the only ones left still playing. That's what Bungie DOESN'T want.

It ruins the whole concept of people challenging each other, i also used chess, checkers and monopoly as examples, fully expecting your argument. This is the entitlement generation, after all. Of course you are supposed to have hand-outs, poor little fellows cant win on their own and thanks to corporate greed you wont have too. Bungie wants everyone happy, so go and be happy. We are done with this conversation. Muted.

Lol I've been nothing but respectful and dignified in thus convo and you end it by throwing a tantrum and flipping the chess board. But before I end this conversation (I expected this was how it would end, you are a known troll on these forums after all) let's set the record straight here. People here are NOT complaining about losses. The catch up mechanic doesn't even make you lose, not by a long shot. If the catch up mechanic gives the opponent the second round, and then they win the third, the better team still won. All it does is add an extra round of play, MAYBE. So an extra 5 minutes in a Gambit match is too much for all of these people to deal with. You all are crying simply because you have to play one extra round to get your precious infamy rank. But I'M the entitled one. Ok man. I'll take that mute, it really doesn't matter to me. But Im not muting you. I can handle dissenting opinions and I don't get triggered by anyone NOT condemning Bungie for once with logic and facts.

Well the responsibility there is for bungie to have skilled or level based match making. The wrong answer is to penalize a good player. Surely you aren’t suggesting that it is appropriate to just allow players who deserve to win be cheated by a lazy system? And you are forgetting a VERY important fact here, there are good players right now at this very minute EXPLOITING catch up mechanics by simply allowing the other team to summon first and then crushing them.

No, I don't feel the catch up mechanics are all that bad to basically guarantee a win though, even having experienced it myself. And for the second point, I'm gonna need sources on that, considering the three round format would negate any second round victory anyway. In all likelihood the third round is even for both teams, or if not, the team that lost the last round wins. So that kind of exploit would be ultimately counter intuitive.
