"Experienced player" left my fireteam the moment he realized we werent rocket cheesing Riven
Recently we had a guy join our fireteam for the whole raid. We one phased all the encounters. But once we got to Riven, he didnt have a clue you had to follow team members up the elevator to move on to the next section. Dude was still behind killing ads. Totally lost when we mentioned symbols and which eye to shoot. It only took 1 wipe which he caused for him to leave. The guy was on add duty and he still couldnt do that properly.
It was clear this guy's "experience" was the rocket cheese.
We proceeded to 5 man the Riven encounter just to prove the him wrong. 5 manned the gauntlet as well. Its definitely petty, but to leave the fireteam because we werent rocket cheesing definitely explains the stance of the LFG community.
Bungie needs to patch this rocket cheese. Im tired of sifting through LFG players who say they are "experienced" and yet are totally clueless on how the riven encounter works.

The fact there’s videos of killing riven with other weapons aside rockets really shows that this isn’t a cheese and it’s more so killing him really fast. You should maybe consider asking everyone when their in if they know what to do and then work around it, like most people.

2 RepliesIsn't it common of MMO gamers to do the least amount of work possible for the most loot (a min/max solution)? Every strike I do with randoms consists of their speed-running through the strike to quickly get to the final boss and the loot.

I've gotten better rewards from the other encounters even in the same run. Even the chests have given me better drops. You go through literally almost four separate encounters just to conclude the Riven fight for ONE reward. If you're lucky, you might get 1k Voices, but that's [b][i]if[/i][/b] you're lucky.

Riven cluster bullshit is number 1 on my list for shit I want Bungie to fix. I cannot stand that the fight is able to be completed that way. Take pride in yourself and learn how to do the fight the way it was designed to be completed.

Slevi, take my upvote! I completely agree with you bro! Everyone that’s saying it’s a “different strategy” is just worried about the cheese getting patched. If that’s what they have to tell themselves to feel like they’re actually doing something then let them. It is 100% a CHEESE because that’s not how the developers meant for the encounter to be done. It’s really actually a huge insult to the development team when players aren’t willing to learn the real way and just trying to cheat the game. I cannot wait for this to get patched. Rumor is, D3 is going to be more of a hardcore game that’s a little harder and doesn’t cater to casual players. I hope it’s true - I can’t wait

Last raid I did, I had 3 guys leave as soon as we got to riven. Things had been going smooth up to that point, but as soon as they heard we weren’t cheesing it, they left. We even offered to teach them how to do it, but no dice. It’s a fun encounter, and easy to one phase, don’t know why people refuse to do it.

I’ve tried for the first time with random and didn’t know any encounter and got kicked when I asked for someone to explain to me Riven. Raid isn’t that hard until this point. So I figured that well explained it may not be that hard. And then guess what... LFG HAVE 10+ completion, have 1k voice, cheese strat, no mozzarella, no noob if dont know dont bother asking. Hand out your credit card number and sister virginity and maybe one of your balls.
