I see and hear people who play this game(which by the way is a GRINDing game) complaining about the lack of exotics that they’ve acquired exactly ONE MONTH into the new drop... 😐 People, I like exotics too. But if i own an exotic like the Malfeasance(which i just got today) or an exotic like Cerberus, i want to know i’m among the few who got lucky to get one to drop, or one of the few willing to spend hours to days pulling my teeth out for malfeasance quest to drop. This game is meant for a grind and i love it. I love that every time i get on Destiny now post forsaken i have something to look forward to grinding for, regardless of RNG or not. Instead of Pre Forsaken when you’re pretty much spoon fed exotics for signing on and have nothing to look forward to but clearing calus for raid report rankings.
Certain aspects of the game aren’t designed for the casual player. Certain aspects are designed for the hardcore grinders, now before we go into the whole i have a life counter argument, i work full time and pay bills as well, but being able to sign on and not own pretty much anything gives me a lot to chase after. Before i had nothing to do on destiny now i don’t know which place to start. So before we complain about the drop rate of exotics or the malfeasance grind appreciate that once you DO get it, you have it and don’t have to work for it again and you’re among the few to own it. It’s an Exotic for a reason guys! Good luck out there on your grind!

Edited by Soul_Eater_42: 10/4/2018 5:11:50 PMIt's been a month, and I haven't seen a single Exotic drop. Not even a duplicate. Of course they shouldn't be common, but this is too much. They're basically nonexistent for me. Like always, Bungie goes from one extreme to the other, never in the middle. They went from too common to barely ever dropping instead of just giving every Exotic a quest line, and being done with it.

5 RepliesEdited by Aerios: 10/4/2018 4:58:17 AMNo, the rates are too low. I’m not saying they should be given out like candy but they also shouldn’t be so rare with how the exotic drop system works. You can still drop year 1 weapons and even quest exotics are put into the loot pull for some reason. Not everyone has the same mindset as you. Some of us don’t care about that exclusive “only a few people have this exotic!!!” mindset. Some people just want to try the new content. Not everyone wants to participate in an empty grind looking for new exotics for months on end but managing only to get dupes if any at all.

“ I have one of the exotics, but everyone else stop complaining. It doesn’t take too long to get exotics.”

Played more than 2 weeks, 0 exotics, not Y1 not Y2, none. Yeah, thats fair but HEY people with 3 hours gettin Trinity Ghoul from a random chest. Is normal waste a lot of time gridin but people should be rewared for it, what is the point of playin if im not goin to get any exotics and Xur is goin to sell exotics by doin nothin?, i did already like 200+heroic strikes=0 exotics, so yeah, is normal people complain about a shitty system. Oh and of course, you are dumb sayin this "i want to know i’m among the few who got lucky to get one to drop", lucky is not the right feelin, you need to feel realized for playin the game, a system based in 100% is pure trash, people with 180+ hours can get shit while others with 10 get 10 times better stuff than the other guy. All RPGs use luck as a factor but not as the main factor thats why this system is trash, another thing is grind is a thing and being -blam!- by a nonsense sytem is other, "hardcore players" i really love this word gotta say. "Casual players" xDDD, really love too how people like you think all the people who complain about how shitty this system is a casual player and he played like 3 hours, is really cute. Yeah basically your argument has not even 1 good point, you are lookin the coin only by one side not both, thats why your argument is trash.....like the loot system, ok ok ill stop makin this jokes but yep, you are the classic " the loot system is good, i just played 100 hours and i already got what i wanted so problaby people with more hours than me got the same or even more".......of course not. Well, im just tired like other people of playin and dont be rewarded so im done, have fun playin the game my dude.

Edited by TattooedOni: 10/5/2018 12:31:13 AMIt’s not objective. I grind, and I think the drop rate is too low. It doesn’t help that the loot in this looter shooter doesn’t drop even close to enough for it to be a looter shooter. It’s basically a lottery ticket with good gun play at this point. To me that’s the game in a bad place. Maybe you like that. Malfeasance wasn’t a grind for some people. They got it the quest in their third Gambit game last week. Slot machine!!!!!!

2 RepliesConsidering the drops are not consistent and are given not just to hardcore players who grind 40+ hrs a week but to casuals as well. There are many "so called casuals" that have received exotics as well and many hardcores that have not. It seems the argument may be legitimate. To clarify I consider myself a casual. I may put in 10-12hrs a week just to level up right at this point. Until I get to NF and Raid level, Im not going to spend hrs grinding until I can at least be at the point I can get with my clan mates and do some serious playing. I just dont have the time. But I would think anyone who puts in 20+ hrs a week is more than just a casual. Sure you have your hard cores and streamers but even as a casual I dont limp dick strikes or PE's or PvP whatever just to get my rewards. You have to admit even hard cores do this. But from what I have read the drop rates are just crappy for some all the way across the board. Hardcores and Casuals alike. That being said. Should you be treated special because you put more hours into this game that many others? Eh....... Anyways Kill many and Die often!

a grind ismalfeasance, getting a lucky drop is not grinding at all and playing for hours and hours and hours hoping that something let alone the one you want maybe has a chance of dropping is not fun is not the reason I okay Destiny now and to play with these weapons not hope after hope that something drops

I’m all for them being rare but this is too much of an extreme. I have 0 of the new exotics that aren’t quest related. I play about 20 hrs a week. At this rate I’ll have maybe 1 or 2 exotics by the time the next dlc (black armory) drops with more exotics. And certain exotics do give you an edge in this game. So with the way the drop rates are now I could potentially never get a forsaken exotic unless xur sells one. Now please justify that? Say whisper, ace of spades, or sleeper were random drops would you be fine with potentially never getting those exotics? Sure make them “rare” but not none existent. if after 120hrs of forsaken you don’t even have 1 then chances are very slime you’ll ever get all of them.

Hard to come back from a game that handed them out for finishing half the story, then again when you actually finished the story then again when you finished the short DLC story well you get the picture.

and now for something completely different
MONTY PYTHON IS NOW ON NETFLIX
Edited by BoyarD: 10/4/2018 4:46:40 PMSure they should be rare. But I should have at least one new exotic by now. One that isn't from a quest of course. It's absolute trash

1 ReplyAgree for new exotics, especially for weapons, but there's shouldn't be so much useless exotic armor in the loot pool. Now it's going to be even more impossible for me to get the old exotics that came back when only the Y2 ones are dropping.
