Exotic drop rates are fine!!!
This is how it should be.
Edit: Just to be clear, I haven’t yet had a Forsaken exotic drop.

No opinion one way or the other. I enjoy playing right now, end of story for me. I haven't been able to say I truly enjoy this game in quite a while so, I'm just not that concerned with drop rates right now. I enjoy making the drops I do get, work. It's led me to try combinations I probably otherwise wouldn't have. And, discover some new weapons I enjoy. Many of the new legendaries are fun experimenting with. Also with random rolls being back it just adds another dynamic to that. Best of luck to those who have valid concerns with this and feel something should be different about it. As for myself though, the grind to 600 is long so I think there will be plenty of time and opportunities for good drops along the way. I'm just not going to get bent out of shape over it. Besides, I remember times when green and white drops were still included in the loot pool regardless of your light/power or level. I'm just grateful those days are gone.

I'm fine with it. I've gotten 5 exotics so far? But none of the new ones. They are supposed to be rare and hard to get. Plenty of other gear in the game until you get one. People are gonna bitch they aren't getting them fast enough then bungie is just going to go back to pretty much just giving them to everyone. Then it will be just another casual game like it was before.

i agree with you i was a huge fan of the exotic drop rate in d1y1. not the everyone gets a exotic for opening a chest in d2 it destroyed the entire concept of a exotic and made the feeling of getting one dull and unrewarding. like the vex you really needed to do a raid and get lucky now that was a reward you wanted

I've gotten some exotics and I don't mind the low drop rate just wish some Y2 exotics would drop.

6 RepliesI haven't gotten one exotic since Forsaken dropped, and I'm alright with that. An exotic dropping should be a rare occurence and a joy. It makes exotics special again. Just my 2 cents though.

Here's to never getting an exotic drop again, bad luck sucks. I'll just have to settle for exotics that come from quests, but hey, at least people with good luck can feel special.

Got the trace rifle yesterday, two tailed fox rocket launcher today. Oh yeah and I got armatarium or what exotic chest for titan. Basically one or two exotics a day so far, since the update on Tuesday.

Dupes shouldnt be a thing. I'm fine with the drop rates, but you shouldnt be getting dupes. I've managed to get 3 exotics... 2 were Ophidans, the other was Black Talon (which is honestly trash :/)

We've already went through this in year one. I'm fine with drop rates being low as long as I don't spend 4 hours just to get another year one I already have. My Titan got four exotics so far and they were all duplicates except one.. My Hunter still hasn't gotten any exotics at all. I'm hoping my first Hunter exotic isn't Lucky Pants for the 50th time...

I would agree with this if they actually fixed the duplicate drop rate.. Ive gotten 2 exotics and both are duplicates I've had before... Plus my 2 friends havent gotten a single exotic drop yet.. & it kind of sucks saying my 1 friend just got into Destiny about a month before the new DLC dropped.. The poor guy is getting discouraged and just wants to try some of the Exoitcs out & maybe set up a decent build.. I mean I played a whole week and all I get is Dunemarchers & Mask of the Quiet One?! Like actually? I mean I've had both these Exotics at least 10 or 15 times, & the devs expect me to excited for more of the same crap I've gotten over and over and over again in Year 1? Now instead of being excited when I see an exotic drop I just get the feeling of dread in the pit of my stomach..

They’re fine indeed. People forgot y1 of D1? There weren’t any exotic engrams at all. You had a chance at an exotic on some checkpoints, like finishing the nightfall or opening the OG exotic chest in VoG. You got so many duplicates. And we didn’t care, because we liked the chase. And then finally the Gjallarhorn dropped. Some had it in weeks, some had to wait an entire year. Stop crying and go grind if you want everything now. You won’t get it anyway. Forsaken is out for just one week, enjoy it. The same complainers here about the drop rate being too low will complain in 2 weeks that the game is stale, because they have everything already.

3 RepliesYeah it’s so much better now exotics need to be exciting to get. I remember when D2 dropped and it was throwing exotics at me and it wasn’t nowhere near as exciting. Then within weeks I had nearly 2/3 of all D2 exotics. I’ve had 3 drop so far 2 were the old ones tho which kinda sucked a bit.

1 ReplyI think it's fine too, it actually makes the exotics feel well.... Exotic lol, after hours of grinding I just finally got my first drop earlier today (the day I'm posting this) and I can't wait to grind some more!
