Doesn't matter how its put out, people will always gravitate to the meta. I'm most comfortable with scouts, autos, and fusion rifles since TTK. Only one of them are part of the current meta, given this games nature your setup or parts of it will eventually( or was ) meta.

i just find a gun that i can use , but will look at tupers and others , to be open minded on what there using but half time , gun aim off , from my screen , so find a weapon that works best for me . after few hundred games .

3 RepliesEdited by Enochua: 9/4/2018 10:06:31 AMwell considering i have over 22,000 kills with pulse, ill keep using pulses like i have been day one. https://destinytracker.com/d2/profile/xbl/M3G4N0V4GJ4H0V4/detailed how are you gonna try and ask some kind of passive aggressive nonsense but at the same time not state what you use. https://destinytracker.com/d2/profile/xbl/WinterWarHawk/detailed just a no thumbs who sprays with autos and hates on people actually using guns that are good and that have an actual skill gap

1 ReplySo many liars in that poll...

Figuring out which guns work for me is half the fun. Although if I keep getting killed by the same gun in the crucible I'll try that one. ;)

1 ReplyAll the Telesto people here saying they picked their own weapons...
-
I prefer Hakke snipers over Alone as a God.

2 RepliesThe only one I'll pay some attention to is Datto on these things. Mainly cause he does frame-by-frame number crunching to get exact values for a weapon's value in PvE. Other than that, I follow my own tastes. Example. I love Snipers. Specifically, I love high single shot damage snipers. Why Whisper of the Worm is my main squeeze in the Power slot. Another is that Streamers and Youtubers like to jerk off the the Midnight Coup. I leave this thing rusting in my vault. I prefer DFA over it. With the new slot changes, I'm kinda experimenting.

I pick my own weapons. But there will always be metas (most effective tools/most effective tactics) in ANY competitive arena. Simply because that is what COMPETITION does. It punishes inefficiency, and drives people to find (and adopt) the most efficient tools and tactics available....if they expect to win. So the notion that any developer can balance a sandbox so perfectly that there won't be any dominant weapons or dominant tactics....is a pipe dream. The problem with THIS game isn't the sandbox. Its the MAP designs and game modes. The map designs and the game modes are so unimaginative and so REPETITIVE that they all funnel players into the same mid-range engagements. So once the community finds out that the dominanty mid-range weapons are in any sandbox, there is basically no reason to ever CHANGE them. Because they are basically effective any Crucible situation you find yourself in. What's been funny (in a sad way) has been watching people FLIP THEIR SHIT over Sleeper Simulant. A weapon that was so BAD in PVP for so long in this game that you're more likely to get killed by a Redrix's Claymore than someone using SS in the Crucible. Despite the fact that its a OHK weapon, its very difficult to hit moving targets with it. But ONE DAY of Gambit.....on a map IDEALLY suited to what it does well? OMFG, Sleeper is not the most overpowered CRUTCH weapon in the history of mankind and now has to be NERFED for the good of the game. You shooter gamers are UN--blam!-ING-BELIEVABLE.

I use Ghost primus Polaris Lanceand Curtain call

I use what I like and what feels comfortable with my playing styles. Honestly most of youtubers are monotone and terrible to listen too. All the videos coukd easily be cut by 5 minutes. There is so much filler and fluff in them. I only really like Dattos stuff breaking down the math and laying out raid encounter strategies.

The only Destiny YouTuber I watch is Man at Arms. I'm still trying figure out how to get peregrine greaves for my hunter.
-
If you play your games based on what other people think, I genuinely feel sorry for you.
-
on a side note. none of the Youtubers are big - they are quite tiny. - Plants need Sunlight to grow. Sunlight is Outside Youtube is Inside in conclusion - Puny Specimens. need to go bench a ketch now. BRB

For me, it's a lot of coincidence. For example, if I'm using things like Baligant, Maxim, or 180 RPM Hand Cannons, it's because I like what they can do for me more than other guns in PvP. But high-impact shotties with Full Choke and snipers with Snapshot or Quickdraw will always be what most good players use already. And most YouTubers, as far as PvP ones, make their content as gameplay that shows them as a good player standing out from your Average Joes so there's more of a distinction between them and most players.
At least, that's just my opinion.
I watch Youtube mainly for internet comment Etiquette - with Erik. Byf is about the Only guy i watch as his content is completely unique to all the others, him and MoreConsole - because he Sounds like a hung over coked up version of Stewie Griffin. everyone else - is just a generic Copy and Paste from one tuber to the next tuber. does not deserve a moist level of attention.
-
I think you totally misunderstand how a meta forms. People don't look at what youtubers use and decide that way. They look at TTK times and use the fastest killing weapons, which is what everyone else including the youtubers use. Graviton and Vigilance had the highest TTK for mid range, and were very easy to use, so everyone used them.
-
I wait for the small YouTubers to tell me what to use. F%@*k mainstream!
-
2 RepliesI just use whatever people on the forums are whining about the most.
-
2 Replies90% are -blam!-ing liars
-
Both because i dont like getting screwed in pvp every match. But i love variety in pve.
-
50/50. I'll pay attention to YouTubers in regards to observations on (noting some have really exceptional TTK or are particularly useful for X game type). That shapes my interest, but i make my own calls from there
-
Hate to tell you this, but you could take away youtube, twitch, the forums, all that stuff, and things would end up the same as it is now. Might take a bit longer, but people will eventually gravitate to the stronger weapons. They will see what other people are using alot, and pick that up to. They will tell their friends, and eventually everyone is in the know. The down side however is, then who will people blame for this?

Dire promise + unification + crown splitter is the most fun I’ve had in PvP for a while

No YouTuber's. But I am always on the hunt for my new favorite scout rifle. I really do miss my old B-Line Trauma from D1. Closest scout in D2 like my B-Line is Frostmeres Hex. But it sucks horribly compared to my old favorite.
