What is the deal with Whisper mission? Zero Heavy Drops?!?!
4 runs and completely out of ammo by the last room. What the literal shit? Did this just happen with Tuesday's update?
If you are going to Trickle the Whisper mission then at least announce it. Really appreciate a moderator reply, but not holding my breath.

Use sleeper but dont use it till the last room with the bosses. Use it on the bosses, then once you’re out switch to Polaris Lance and just keep hitting them and boom done. its how my group did it on our second run.

They totally ruined the mission. I was working on my solo, which is now pretty much impossible.

I have the same problem. Wisper of the worms heroic without heavy ammo makes no fun.

Bungie never fixed it. Now, it’s worse than ever! It’s not inconsistent any more, in this mission it’s practically [i]nonexistant[/i]. Fix your shit, Bungie!

1 ReplyIm sure its intentional. I jave had exotic armor drop that had perks for heavy ammo drops. Maybe if you had said armor with that perk you might see ammo. Just a thought.

Read somewhere else, another player had switched heavy weapons in a strike when no heavy ammo was dropping and said ammo started dropping at a pre-update rate.

Get into WOTM mission. 3. Use weapons wisely meaning you don't need to use the Whisper at all until the last room (called managing your ammo). 4. Kill the 3 bosses and have 3+ minutes left.

3 Replies4 heroic runs to help some guys out in my clan and we also experienced this same issue. No heavy drops at all. The only ammo you get is the ammo you launch with, so make sure you rally to a public event to fill your ammo. Bungie really screwed the pooch on this one.

13 RepliesA great fix for this, and what most veteran players do, hit up a public event rally flag before you start any end game content. It'll give you full ammo for every weapon equipped that transfers between activities. Disclaimer: I don't know if they touched this feature during the update. Please don't flame war me if this info is wrong, I just wanted to share a tactic if it still works after the update.

Last night I was able to 2 man it but it’s difficult. I was lucky enough to get 3 special bricks. During the mission I noticed that when switching between shotgun and sniper the ammo amount stayed the same. My loadout looked like this: frigid jackal/perfect paradox in the first slot, 3 elements of inaugural address and polaris lance for after we were out of heavy. Good super usage is essential (we were both on arc strider) and try to preserve heavy as much as possible for the final room. I entered the final room with max special and 16 shots for my whisper. After having to do it like this I can say that solo is practically impossible to do. I hope this gets fixed as I find that soloing the mission was quite fun and challenging.

Me and my buddies had to use the whisper and kill the snipers and stuff on the first rooms and then switch to the Polaris Lance to kill the bosses. We were able to kill the last boss with about a minute left. Not ideal but doable.
