With Bungie releasing this the 3k plus that paid to have the Claymore are mad as hell this morning. And are having a serious bout of buyers remorse. The recovery teams that have been stone walling the community to get paid are so probably sick about it.
Do you think this will be enough to help clean up the comp play list, from recoveries, ddossers and paid carries?
If you earn the Claymore, you are awesome !!! i don't in anyway mean to insult you, and i feel you deserve more than an emblem. But the community got held up pretty much by these corrupt players and a horrible system.

Behave, After reading the steps to get the broadsword, they will be demanding more to get it for them. Win win for the recoverers.

People are still paying .......

75 RepliesWhy are people so interested in people on twitch and YouTube? I watch neither and subscribe to no one! I do not see the fascination it’s beyond my 42 years old, sitting and watching someone play a game and commentate, especially people putting gamers on pedestals too, like so and so is the best you need to listen to what he as to say. I just don’t get the mentality maybe it’s age! I’ve been in chats and people say datto does it like this and blah blah does this we should do it this way. Why! I’m pretty sure I can work it out myself! I read that streamers actually get paid for this too, so I look on YouTube out of curiosity and see the 10 best donations on twitch and someone drops obscene amounts of money into their account. WHY?! Then there is the account recovery I keep seeing on here mentioned a lot. People pay to have someone achieve something for them! Now this does go beyond my thinking. eBay is full of paid services for destiny. What happened to gaming did I miss something in my years from Commodore 64 to PS4. The meaning of gaming seems to have got lost in people’s desire to have what they cannot legitimately achieve by themselves. I can remember the hours and hours I put into games to get and achieve what I wanted without ever thinking I need to pay someone to help me get this stuff. That was the purpose of the game to challenge and make you work for it so the result was satisfying. If paying someone to get you something is what it takes then what is the point! I watched a team of nurses take care of my dad last week with care and compassion and without so much as a grumble or complaint for 30k a year if that doing 12 hour shifts day in day out, and a twitcher gets 100k dropped. Doesn’t make much sense to me. I’m happy when I meet true gamers while playing destiny, who play for the same reasons as me and value the time they put into the game.

I feel you, but I do not share your sentiment. I don't care if someone pays someone else to get them a gun. If they can afford it, it saves them time and let's them play the game how they want to. Power to em. However, I also see the side that filling up competitive playlists with carry service pub stompers is bad for the community as well. Sadly, you're never going to get people to stop carries, ever. As long as there is a questline, a high level event, a piece of gear with special requirements, there will be people who want it without doing the work and people willing to do it for them. Luckily, I avoid competitive like the plague and don't do trials anymore due to this kind of crap, and my life has been exponentially better for it. Full disclosure: GL and VW are way more broken than the Claymore and you can get those from turning in engrams, so there are much bigger problems than this.

1 ReplyGot mine 3rd week in. Didn't pay a penny. I'm just a skilled, patient guy.
-
1 ReplyWith the amount of people cheesing to get it on LFG, I think most will have it by DLC launch. Why pay when you can play eight of your friends and get it in a few hours.
-
Why would they have any sort of buyers remorse? someone worked for the claymore for them and now, they too will get access to the broadsword from day 1 of Forsaken, without doing the quest just like everyone else who worked their asses off for the claymore. They paid for one gun and now they get 2...depending on RNG of course.
-
There will still be services for this. They would be more intensive as you'd have to give your information to someone for them to do all the work. It would be easy to do this as people already give out their login info regardless. Maybe not feasible because this would take time.. you'd have to disconnect any payment/ personal info from your account first preferably. People will find a way. Wait.. excuse me. That isn't right. *Money will find a way.

1 ReplyFirst off I've never paid for a carry in anything, with that being said. If someone wants to pay for a gun on this game why do people care? They must obviously have more dollars than sense. It matters not to you. Let them spend money however they want. I couldn't care less. Ppl need to quit getting butthurt over a mediocre game.

im happy they are introducing the broadsword. That being said I will still try to get claymore. spend to much time to just give up now and I hope with this introduction I won't be playing as many recovs.

14 RepliesI dont see an issue. People pay money for an in-game (imaginary) item. Isn't that what religion has been doing for the last 2000 years - people paying money for something imaginary?

75 RepliesEdited by gfuup: 8/20/2018 12:26:51 AMRunning with the Broadsword is like wearing a fake Rolex, you will be nothing more than a cheap fake wannabe tryhard. Enjoy your fake Rolex guys:)

I couldn’t care for the gun. It has those annoying side rails. High mobility characters /hunters wreck guns like this while side stepping . Kind of sad given how hard it is to achieve this crucible rank. Please remove the god awful side rails!!!

Now that radar is back, game on.
bring back 3v3 trials elimination
6 Repliesyou do realize the broadsword is a sword and not a gun right? and that if you HAVE redrix claymore gun you get EXTRA bonuses for the broadsword..... which means there is MORE need to pay to get the claymore now.....its going away and will never be available again AND itll make your broadsword way more powerful...... you dont read much on updates do you ?

The best deterrent, no. Definitely a step in the right direction, but until Bungie starts actually taking steps against carriers and blockers (players who actively try to prevent other players from reaching a goal, either for fun or for profit), fixes the matchmaking, and stop putting loot that requires real time and effort to earn (which I hope they do not do) there will always be a market for p2w players. There are a lot of people out there who simply refuse to put in the effort and have the cash to burn, there are those who work 60+ hours a week and don't have 23 hours a day to grind. There are also kids out there with mommy/daddy to pay for everything, and those "adults" out there who were born into money and never had to learn its value. Unfortunately, all Bungie can really do is step up security (which they're not likely to do), invest in dedicated servers (which they won't do), or stop making things earn-able and just hand everything out like candy (which they already tried). Not saying there aren't more solutions, or that Bungie should just give up on trying, but speaking realistically there will always be a market for p2w even in games like Destiny where the advantages earned through paying for such services are negligible or cosmetic at best. I used to be one of those guys who scorned players who p2w, and I still do for the most part and would never pay someone else to play a game for me, but I've accepted that there are circumstances where p2w would be the better option over putting in the effort. Can't say I haven't been tempted though, given how toxic and elitist the raiding community has become now that Bungie has chased away the majority of the more polite/morally decent raiding player base. Still haven't done EoW or SoS and frankly, I don't really want to after seeing first hand how new players are too often treated in Leviathan.

my mistake. you are right. and wow yes this is awesome!!! itll shut down those azz howes that are CHARGING PEOPLE to play on their accounts. great news
-
Wow, a lot of hate for the fellas who paid for it. Wish there was an emblem for the folks who bought it, if there was I WOULD PAY, get that stupid imaginary digital gun, put on that emblem and then jump in the Crucible just to crush the haters and bag them. Please Bungie, create such an emblem.

5 RepliesEdited by TheSHADYzombie: 8/18/2018 8:47:11 PMI earned mine and I'm pretty salted they did this, but it still wont stop people, plus I dont think it was to reduce paid Carrie's, it was more to give everyone a version of redrix because it will be super meta next season
-
6 RepliesWell they also get to skip the entire quest, which is pretty tedious
-
1 ReplyI think those that had to pay to get it will suck anyway its not the tool that makes one good :) agree though it is funny :) hahahhahahhaah
-
The amount of people who paid<the amount of people who earned. The minority shouldn’t affect the majority in this situation and you’ll never be able to stop those who are willing to pay until bungie starts banning people. I’m alright with this just because claymore would’ve ended becoming redundant with out the new masterwork system and mod slot/ random rolls which this solves but that’s the only reason.
-
The claymore will still be better if they have a quest to get it then people will pay for that if they don’t feel like playing to rank 3.
-
2 RepliesThis, combined with no trials in season 4 is gonna put a lot of people on the streets
-
You act like people aren't going to pay others to do recoveries for the quest. From the looks of it, they could take up as much time as it took for some to get their claymore. Can guarantee there will be people paying others to complete it for them.
