Was playing with two buddies and someone sent a message “cancer three stack”. I was amused honestly but it made me wonder when this culture of hating on people playing with friends started. If I recall correctly this wasn’t really a thing in d1. I played against plenty of teams in skirmish all day and never once faulted them for playing together. Why is it frowned upon to play with people if you’re all decent players? Should anyone with any skill be forced to solo queue? If you’re salty that half the people on one team are in a fireteam you’re legit looking for an excuse as to why you didn’t play well. Please don’t give me the communication argument either because honestly we’re more likely making fun of each other than making call outs.

6 RepliesThe issue is fire teams is quick play. Quick play intent was a fast matchmaking, low sweat, fun game where a solo, casuals, etc could enjoy and stand a chance. Quick play has become a fire team sweat fest. I played a match and got killed by two different dudes with Claymore and one had 43 kills. Quick play for a fire team is a pub stomp. Trials and competitive are better set up for fire teams.
-
Okay the only thing I dislike about fireteams vs solos is quickplay I play solo and the other day I got matched against a team of 4+ a team of 2 on the same team Why couldn’t my team get the 2 member team? No instead my team of solos got slapped in spawn the whole match and by the end there were only 2 of us left fighting of 6 sweaty graviton teamshootin try hards in CASUAL PLAY

I just hate full fireteams of Arc Staff Hunters wearing Wormhusk Crown because 99 times out of 100, there's no way to beat them unless my team has the exact same setup.
-
In my case I get slightly annoyed when I'm against a fireteam with no fireteam on my side. But then I just message them as say something like, "I wish I had your team" cause I often do as well as said team and get my ass handed to me overall because my team just aren't good, aren't coordinated like a fireteam obviously is and more often than not, don't follow objectives. So many are allergic to objectives, we need to raise awareness for these people and teach them that they can recover from these allergies and how they can join those who play objectives.

46 RepliesEdited by TheArtist: 8/6/2018 6:08:30 PMNot making any excuses for bad behavior..., ...,but people (especially solo players) have been suffering under this teamshot meta now for nearly a year, and we’re sick of it. There is NOTHING wrong with your playing with friends. There is EVERYTHING wrong with the game being so poorly designed and tuned that your doing so gives you an almost insurmountable advantage. Add to that a game that has many snowball mechanics(power ammo, supers, orbs, etc..) and basically NO rubberband mechanics, so many games with randoms going up against clan teams turn into blowouts. Now add to THAT the fact that SBMM is broken in QP so what little protection that solo players had from pub stomping is gone.... ....and you have a solo experience that is just -blam!-ing miserable. It took me about 15 matches to get the five wins I needed to level up my Solstice gear. (We won’t even discuss how long it took to get the 30 super kills as a Warlock). This morning I lost a Clash match 100-38. 1. How TF did this match not get mercied? 2. I led the leaderboard on my side with 12 (of the 38) kills with a KA/D of 0.92. AND I WAS THE BEST PLAYER ON MY SIDE WALKING AWAY. Number 2 had 10 kills and a KA/D of 0.4. Three and Four posted 0.29 and 0.23 respectively. Six got shutout. ZERO kills. None. NADA. 3. Because of the poor play of my team mates, most of my 15(?) deaths came from getting team shot, supered and hit with power weapons. Can you say, ”No counter play.” Can you say, ”Montage material”? THIS IS WHAT THE SOLO QUEUE EXPERIENCE HAS BECOME IN THIS GAME. Going from one blowout to the next. The same frustratingly repetitive experience over and over again. The only thing changing is which side of it you’re on. And it not being very fun on either of them.

1 ReplyDestiny 2 is plagued by people that think they're good because they can team-shoot. Sadly, those few people that do believe teamshooting=skill begin to think they shit gold, and have left a bad taste in this communities mouth. Hence why people hate team now.
-
The problem isn’t teams, it’s the fact that solo players have a disproportionately hard time advancing in the crucible with matchmaking he way it is. That person was probably stomped by full teams all day. It wasn’t right of them to be a dick, but I can understand the frustration of just wanting to get your objectives done and being billyclubbed by 4-6 nightstalkers all with GLs and Wormhusks.
-
I’m 50/50 on this topic. I’m not in any way a good PvP player, but I will keep trying regardless of my limited skill. The matchmaking does need to be fix, but perhaps not as extreme as some people make it out to be. Currently I’m just really in PvP to complete my armor set. It is a bit disappointing playing 4-6 hours against players/teams and only receiving 3 of 5 wins in that time. I’m constantly changing my load out to accommodate the meta, not much works for me. Regardless of the set backs, I will keep playing to finish the armor. I just don’t feel it should take this much time to finish such a simple objective. My main gripe as far as PvP right now is getting One Hit Killed by weapons that are in no way a “One Hit Kill”. I’ve had full health and armor and taken down in one shot by GL, Crimson and even once by Vision (sidearm). Now this could be because of mods I’m not aware of, but something seems off there. Regardless, I’ll keep fighting in PvP in order to finish the Armor Set objectives. Can’t let these continuous setbacks keep me down.

13 RepliesEdited by Bad_Joker0628: 8/8/2018 7:18:40 AMBecause bungo made it possible to team shoot. So no ones feelings get hurt .Everyone walking around with positive k.d thinking they are good when in reality they are not. If these same players go back in D1 right now don’t be surprise to see them be trash. Back in D1 there was a lot of friends playing together but everyone was running around trying to get kills on their own because an assist was just that an assist didn’t count as a kill like in D2. Exactly like it should be ! These same players are the ones who run if you get them 1 on 1 because they know in reality they suck smh

Edited by Daiyo722: 8/8/2018 1:14:31 PMIts not fair being tossed up against 4 man and 3 man squad in pvp as a competitive play list all it does is generate alot of salt hate and annoyance for the game and the games match making. Solo players just want to be matched vs other solo players in competitive and let the squads play against each other its a simple request and reasonable one. Also in d1 it was possible to go ham vs a team if you played it right with optimal time to kill strong supers and all around stronger gun play to where in destiny 2 everyone bunches up together and are glued to the hip. Making boring gameplay and a salty player base.
-
Its simply the way they designed the game, it's made for team shooting now. So having more players gives an advantage.

Blame Bungo for compoundin’ an existing issue for the sake of keepin’ their search results positive before a major content drop. Sure, I have an issue when I’m solo queuing and I’m placed against and 3 plus stack’d team but I wouldn’t have a problem IF… 1. It wasn’t constantly happenin’. 2. That 3 stack team wasn’t then blinkin’ around the screen like Nightcrawler. 3. I had at least a 2 stack on my team. 4. I didn’t have three Level 3s on my team. 5. This wasn’t my fifth match in a row dealin’ with this scenario. In the end, I’m not gonna complain to another player about them playin’ the game their way. But on the other hand, either Bungo is gonna hear from me (not that they care) or I’m gonna spend my time doin’ something else. PS: 6. My team is down by 80 in Control and yet the mercy rule won’t be kickin’ in!!!

Edited by michael: 8/8/2018 12:20:23 PMi have probably 20 days worth of time in 3v3 alone on destiny 1 and i was always annoyed by 3 man fireteams, especially the ones who would just whore over the relic in salvage. i didn’t hate them though, because people didn’t stick together as much and usually i was able to play around it and the feeling of beating a fireteam was nice. on destiny 2, however, any fireteam that is remotely coordinated will absolutely beam a team of solo players. sometimes people in fireteams will be bad players and/or will not coordinate and you can beat them, like the fireteam or 6 that i mercy ruled in quickplay a few days ago. but 4/5 times, people in fireteams are coordinating well and calling out and playing as a team. which is fine. i don’t blame them. it’s just kind of annoying sometimes because all of my friends think pvp is cancer. i have a friend who had the world record for all sniping lights outs back when the game was still 4v4 format and he refuses to play now. i actually find the game fun, but i have to play solo so fireteams are kind of obnoxious. of course playing with your friends is fine. playing with your friends is my favourite parts of videos games. it’s just sort of undeniable that fireteams are obnoxious to okay against.

I've been running with a PvP 6 man clan team this week. On our side it's been great! Some of the best fun I've had in awhile. We do still lose from time to time. But when we win 150 or so to 43, I do feel bad that the mercy rule doesn't spare the other team sooner. I also play alone alot; and get absolutely destroyed.
-
Right here is why Bungie needs to start a solo Q mode and skilled based match making. Solo people should just have to play other solo players. But this will not stop the little hating trolls.
-
9 RepliesLet's be fair. You can't blame people for feeling disheartened if they're playing solo + randoms and they're constantly pit against premade fireteams. I believe the matchmaking could be improved to at least try to pit randoms v randoms and parties v parties.
-
Cause people will find a way to complain and bitch about everything and stupid people will be stupid. The best thing to do is to try and ignore them.

Edited by Divine_Majin93: 8/7/2018 1:20:34 PMIn D1, you could kill fireteams yourself. Because of the balance, you had nothing to fear. You could wipe a whole 6 man team single handedly with relative ease. Did it quite often. You can't do it in this game unless you get insanely lucky. Nothing does enough damage in this game to amount to anything. And so a balance like that rewards a teamshot group effort. And to many people, teamshot isn't as skillful as twitch reflex and pulling off multikills with a fast time to kill. The same can be said vice versa. Destiny 1 crucible and Destiny 2 crucible are currently two COMPLETELY different experiences. I myself prefer the faster paced fast ttk of D1. I don't quite view teamshot reliance to be a very fun experience in a video game. To each their own.

Three stacks are cancer now? I’ll drop a 30 bomb on a 6 stack in my sleep. These kids are outrageous.

1 ReplyIt's the PVE Elitists who hate PvP who are trying to complete the Solstice gear. They blame everyone but themselves.
-
My guess, people without a lot of PvP experience are going into quickplay, solo, to "git gud" and subsequently getting pub-stomped by experienced fireteams.
-
1 ReplyYour post may have answered a question I've had about Mayhem. I've noticed a lot of teams in Mayhem matches and I've wondered why, and how they could possibly co-ordinate their play in such a jumbled, chaotic and unpredictable game mode. Since you say a lot of the time you and your teammates are making jokes and not call outs then maybe now I get it. Sometimes players team up just to share a laugh and have a good time. Even as a solo player I can understand that. Mayhem makes me laugh the whole time. It's the only PvP mode I enjoy.
-
Because they suck personally I love destroying fireteams it makes me feel very accomplished and my favorite is playing quick play 6 verse 6 winning being in first place in realizing that the losing team was a full 6 fireteam headset Clan I love it!
-
We had a full fireteam when we were playing earlier this week - no hate mail.

1 Reply@ Folk saying "stop complaining and join team communication": Just off-handedly, what about players who can't use mic for whatever reason? Deaf players, mute players, players who suffer debilitating social anxiety etc. It's a really BS thing that QP (you know, casual, open PvP environment...) is reliant on teamplay to win games, and therefore reliant on team comms which are virtually inaccessible to a fair number of people that most of the community don't even think about. That's what really irritates me about the state of teamplay in QP, and to an extent PVE - it's becoming increasingly exclusive.
