Redrix now out of reach for most people
I have mine. I spent ridiculous amount of time grinding for it because i'm a mid-tier player but I was determined.
There were days I would end the day well over 100 to 150 points down from where I started.
There were days I got on steaks and gained 200+.
Now I haven't won a game since the update.
It took me months of competitive to finally earn mine. I'll be back down a level soon, and any hopes I had of the shotgun, ornament, or emblem are gone.
The old system allowed someone willing to work hard and put in the time to eventually advance.
Now it might as well be Trials. There's a barrier in place made up of the top % of players that will never allow me to advance.
So I'm relegated to Quick Play. But, 6 v 6 is garbage with the map size. Getting shot from multiple players from multiple angles every 5 to 10 seconds just isn't fun.
Thanks Bungie for taking the part of your game I enjoyed most and making it terrible.
People will say I'm just not good enough and don't deserve the rewards, I've been reading the forums . And to some extent they're right. I'm not that good. But does that mean that perseverance should go without reward?
I've put in a ridiculous amount of time into this game, and now the rewards I was driving for seem completely out of reach
I know a good portion of you will say "get better" and "stop whining".
Don't bother. I have gotten better but I'll never be that top tier. I'm okay with that, as many people that play for fun are.
I just think it's poor form of Bungie to continue to cater to the elite and drive the average player away.

I have the exact same problem. I used to love competitive, and I was a decent player. Now I'm forced to play competitive, which I only do when I fool myself into thinking I can actually win a match. I'll stick with replaying titanfall 2 until forsaken is released.

Comp is broken man, it just doesn’t fit with destiny PvP.

I used to look forward to playing comp buys now it’s trash Bungie should of never made this update mid season. It’s 4 stacks against solo and there is no points gain only looses, I think Bungie really messed this one up it makes me so mad to play and that’s sad.

Redrix is a waste of time. Its hyped. No it's not the "best" anything. The way Destiny is setup, there's no way for any gun to be the absolute best. Its all a matter of preference and opinion. When a gun is actually OP, it's usually just due to the activities modifiers, or devs slipping up which is then followed up with a patch. BUT to say Redrix is the best pulse rifle is nonsense. It might be good in certain situations but it's not the best. No gun is. It's all preference and opinion!

....okay, and what’s your point. That is the way it should be. I’m actually happy to have things only achievable through certain milestones. I don’t have it. I’m an average PvP player because I’ve disliked the PvP in Destiny 2. I should be handed a OvP related trophy for nothing. Same goes for the people bitching about ornaments being “locked” behind a raid. You should be able to achieve something different for doing something different. Since the Claymore is linked to “competitive” PvP, if you’re not a good enough “competitor” you don’t deserve the trophy for being good enough. TLDR: licking certain things behind certain activities is a good thing because it gives an incentive to achieve that said thing and gives a bragging right for those who achieved it. Like the dude I saw in the owner in full raid prestige ornaments just standing there facing spawn to grow his e-peen.

I just started but notice it's best to play only after trials is going. Also earlier in the afternoons/evenings. The more hardcore players are on the later I try to play. I'm new though and only around 1.8 on my kill ratio.

2 RepliesHonestly it's a moot point as far as this gun is concerned. It was massively over hyped when originally revealed. Haven't heard bungie say one word about in months now, because it gets outclassed by G-Lance and Vwing every time. I have the gun, was excited to get and use it, only to find out its just...meh. Anyone grinding for it I say: Don't waste your time.

I suck at pvp, but through grind was able to get better and get the gun. Not impressed with it tbh

From what I’ve seen the higher ranks of competitive are the same stacked teams waiting to find a match for ever, getting matched against the same stacked teams, people doing paid carries, and people who cheat for faster wins. I don’t find that very appealing when crucible is already a inconsistent experience based on connection. I liked the initial claim that 40% of players could reach the claymore, and I think that seems about right. I just don’t think that’s what is actually going to happen.

I suffer more from a lack of time more than I do skill. Between doing normal raids, grinding Faction Rally, and now the prestige raid lairs, sitting down and playing crucible is absolutely on the bottom of my list. I am sad I will never have a Redrix's Claymore but that is something I will have to live with I guess.... I am hoping there will be a possibility to get Redrix in the future much like how you will get the faction catalysts in the future, only because it is fair. Faction Rally is minding numbing and while I am happy people will be able to get the catalysts in the future, I am still a bit irked that I am working towards something now that will be freely available in a future update. This is why I believe Redrix should be available in the future. Inb4 why do Faction Rallies then? I enjoy having the catalysts now because it gives me something else to do while I wait for Forsaken to drop and I honestly like the fact I am using guns I would never normally use.

I feel the opposite after the update. I’m a relatively strong player, and the previous SBMM (as opposed to Glory based) put me up against top tier players from the very beginning. I struggled to even maintain 200 points. Two weeks in, the people I was playing were reaching Legend and I still had 200. I had to coordinate the most stacked teams within my clan to even have a shot at a single win. Now, we’re winning easily at the lower ranks and seeing increased difficulty as our team average gets closer to Fabled. You already have your Redrix, meaning you probably still have 2000+ points. Your glory rank is giving you tough matches now, but you’ve already gotten there. Seems way more fair to me.

I agree on so many levels. I am in my mid 40s and 4v4 was about as fast as my reflexes still worked. 6v6 sucked the joy out of crucibals. On the bright side, every update like this has always brought the cheets in droves. If you see wierd stuff, report them. Once they weed out and bungie quits rewarding them it will get better. My biggest complaint will remain about fireteams on PS. I belong to a clan with my family, only 3 of us, its not enough for trials and we are not good enough for raids. I am the youngest by far. I do not want to quit my clan to join one just for the portions of the game we cannot play and finding fireteam mates is not easy on a PS. I would love it if bungie would make an emote where you can stand in a public area with a sign on your neck like "wanna join for a raid" . Public areas are the only place you can join random fireteams. If forsaken was good or if Borderlands 3 ever releases, were gone. Till then its just a game to kill time. A game that allows cheets but has alot of good people. It sits on the edge of greatness and I doubt bungie ever figures out how to get there. At least the entire tech industry has a low bar, so they are slipping in right along with the rest of the mediocre world.
