Dear Bungie,
On behalf of the all the other deaf guardians out there, the raid is, if not impossible, extremely hard without some form of communication. VoG? I did it, Crota's End? Did it. But the Leviathan? I am either A, left with nobody to take me because of my hearing impairment or B, left with an impossible task. I know you want communication focused tasks but please, please think of the deaf community. Thank you for taking a time to read this. As I don't go on here a lot if you want to ask questions or talk to me my GT is kaseinoboruto.
Edit:
Wow! Thank you all for your support! To the people who say that Bungie shouldn't "have to cater to the hearing impaired" or that they can't make an all inclusive game, let me bring up some points. It's not hard at all to make a call out system for the raid... and they have a color blind fixer, why can't they just take an hour and add in call-outs?
Edit 2: Thank you to everyone with an actual intellectual opinion (: For the trolls, go back to 4Chan please. Another note, I understand money is an issue, always is. I am simply suggesting this as an interchangeable setting (like the color blindness) that for the raids would replace your emotes with text call-outs. Thank you.
Edit 3: Thank you all so much for the kindness, I can't go through all the replies so if you would like to play with me or message me I have Xbox, GT is kaseinoboruto
Edit 4: okay, I messed up, there's spaces -.- sorry Kasei No Boruto
Edit 5: Trolls- https://youtu.be/NY9UZI1OUMI
Edit 6: I just want to thank you all for the support on this issue, I did not think this would take off like it did (: hopefully Bungie starts to take notice of this, thank you all for bringing this into the light.
Edit 7: Great news! Thanks to Geek in Tinfoil and squad I completed Leviathan! Thank you guys so much for all the support
Edit 8: Hey guys, if you can go ahead and share this post with friends or others it would be greatly apreciated, just trying to spread awareness. Either Bungie hasn't seen it or they're just ignore it at this point.

Great post!
-
Bungie give this guardian some feedback already!

3 RepliesListen hunny, I am sorry that you are deaf but that does not mean that Bungie should need to revolve their entire game around whether a few people can complete it or not. Maybe you shouldn't play an RPG?
-
2 RepliesThey can't even differentiate PvP nerfs from PvE and you think these lazy/incompetent devs can add a call out system?.... Bahahahahahahahahahahahah!!!
-
Really good ideas, I hope Bungie does something.
-
2 RepliesWe're Listening. -Bungie
-
I heard many deaf teams use skype to handle mechanics. Ever tried? 😀
-
I totally agree,Bungie do need to think about hearing impaired people having a way to complete the raids.
-
28 RepliesBungie only thinks about people who hype the game up and people who make money off the game. Otherwise they would have done something to accommodate players like you. You deserve better.

Edited by Jor: 7/6/2018 1:25:22 AMThe fact that you're deaf and still able to complete these raids is awesome. Hell, I can't do it with team that can hear me! Don't let people not accepting you because "duhhh she no hear to well" bring you down. I had a colorblind guy call out for Argos (Arc, Solar, Voids) and we slammed him down. I agree, Bungie needs to think about ALL Guardians, not just the "filthy casuals" or a select few. Destiny isn't a game just for "normal" people! I don't mean "normal" as an offense or insult, I'm just pointing out that Bungie turns a blind eye on Guardians that may have trouble hearing or seeing. And that sucks. Bigtime. EDIT: UHHHH SHE'S FAKE! Fake or not, it points out problems that do need to be addressed. "XD THEN DON'T PLAY THE GAME" "GAY -blam!-" I can see the replies now
-
2 RepliesCongratulations. Thank you for calling this to Bungie's attention. This will help them design better raids for everyone to enjoy.
-
1 ReplyBungie does so much stupid emotes, why not make the raid ones?

28 RepliesEdited by Ultra: 7/6/2018 5:23:41 AMI'm enjoying going through the comments and reporting all the people who don't deserve to be here. Edit because people always assume the worst apparently: It's almost like people think I'm reporting every comment I see. I'm reporting people who are insulting a deaf girl (like actual insults because there have been a few). A family member of mine went through some serious shit this past year and a half so I take it seriously when people take time out of their day to insult people in the ways I've seen on this post. I actually have opposing opinions of my own in regards to the original post and I respect all and every opinion, but making fun of a person for being deaf and insulting them for it is not something that I consider an opinion or feedback.

6 RepliesEdited by domenico: 7/5/2018 6:27:41 PMThere are roles in each encounter that would not technically require verbal communication: Castellum - Plate defender Baths - Switch whenever a player comes to your plate, go to the middle when your chain stops and you see your teammates start heading there Dogs - Grab a spore and follow the leader diligently (tell your team which dog you will kill b4 starting) Gauntlet - You would need your runner to use their gun while inside to indicate which row not to shoot, disclose with your teammate before hand over text chat that you will do top or bottom. Calus- Stay in the throne room and do "ad" control, use visual queues to jump off the plates when doing damage. You don't need to kill any psions, realistically. It's tough, but doable... You need a patient team that can help you here, there are plenty of clans out there that would be willing to help those in need.

Have everyone agree certain emotes stand for the different signs. Everyone run the same emotes.

Its crazy how in this day and age, games dont have settings in place for impaired gamers. At best we have subtitles and colorblind correction.
-
You touched an interesting point, people who have some sort of impairment (not limited to your case) should have some way to communicate and emotes might be just it, besides one of the top fails of the raids is that they contain mechanics that have little to no explanation how they work in the intent to prolong the activity longer than it actually needed because the player will not experience them unless playing that specific activity

Edited by Combat Mind: 7/6/2018 12:25:50 AMThe only problem I can really think of is when a new raid comes out, either A. They add callouts immediately, and using the callouts everyone already knows what to call out for the raid, losing that urgency to figure everything out for world’s first, or B. They wait until next patch, and the rest of the Deaf community feels like a afterthought of Bungie.
-
-
Sorry, yay you completed the raid great!, but how would having call outs help deaf people? Surely calling anything out, would just fall on deaf ears? 😂
-
Put ADA on Bungie, they will do something pretty quick.
-
I get how you feel. I did the raid while under an unjust comm restriction. I couldn’t hear anything they were saying. The most difficult one was gauntlet, but I was able to judge where to shoot by the arrow being shot and where the runner was
-
Don’t ask bungie for help. They’re deaf too. Any help you might get would just be the deaf leading the deaf. I’ll be here all night.
