Dear Bungie,
On behalf of the all the other deaf guardians out there, the raid is, if not impossible, extremely hard without some form of communication. VoG? I did it, Crota's End? Did it. But the Leviathan? I am either A, left with nobody to take me because of my hearing impairment or B, left with an impossible task. I know you want communication focused tasks but please, please think of the deaf community. Thank you for taking a time to read this. As I don't go on here a lot if you want to ask questions or talk to me my GT is kaseinoboruto.
Edit:
Wow! Thank you all for your support! To the people who say that Bungie shouldn't "have to cater to the hearing impaired" or that they can't make an all inclusive game, let me bring up some points. It's not hard at all to make a call out system for the raid... and they have a color blind fixer, why can't they just take an hour and add in call-outs?
Edit 2: Thank you to everyone with an actual intellectual opinion (: For the trolls, go back to 4Chan please. Another note, I understand money is an issue, always is. I am simply suggesting this as an interchangeable setting (like the color blindness) that for the raids would replace your emotes with text call-outs. Thank you.
Edit 3: Thank you all so much for the kindness, I can't go through all the replies so if you would like to play with me or message me I have Xbox, GT is kaseinoboruto
Edit 4: okay, I messed up, there's spaces -.- sorry Kasei No Boruto
Edit 5: Trolls- https://youtu.be/NY9UZI1OUMI
Edit 6: I just want to thank you all for the support on this issue, I did not think this would take off like it did (: hopefully Bungie starts to take notice of this, thank you all for bringing this into the light.
Edit 7: Great news! Thanks to Geek in Tinfoil and squad I completed Leviathan! Thank you guys so much for all the support
Edit 8: Hey guys, if you can go ahead and share this post with friends or others it would be greatly apreciated, just trying to spread awareness. Either Bungie hasn't seen it or they're just ignore it at this point.

13 RepliesFor those in doubt that it couldn't be done and for trolls who have left behind. I give you The raid report for her first clear https://raid.report/pgcr/1879077027

5 RepliesSo Bungie, when are these few lines of code going to be implemented? It should be pretty easy to make something for this imho, but Bungie isn't that fast with development. For example: A setting to enable text cue's if hearing impaired, that automatically mutes teamspeak/party's and maybe normal audio so that others won't misuse it. You could also contact Microsoft support for this, maybe they could integrate the hearing impaired settings in the Xbox own configuration and Bungie or other game makers could use that to enable text cue's. Microsoft is having some good rep from their new product for people with a mobility disability so they might be more susceptible to this a.t.m. Also i read that MS was testing keyboard and mouse combo's on the Xbox One X, others could use the keyboard to send you pre programmed messages with the touch of a button. (there is no reason for it not to work on the original Xbox b.t.w.) As with everything, where there's a will there's a way!! Good luck!!

pc gaming may be much better for you, we have text chat for example and you can probably get a voice to text software running in the background too, meaning you might be able to read the discord audio channel raids will always be hard tho as typing isnt so easy in a raid. i tried to do one without discord, just using text chat, and it was very tough as it means you lose time typing. its a shame as i dont really like chatting on a mic as i find it distracting and i much prefer to type, but im 43 and old school FPS gamer.

6 RepliesI don't know what I did to make people show horns like they did, it hurts. Just to clear things up, this was not a post meant to beg for help, it was a post to draw light on the deaf community and the problems we face. I know I've said this before but I am NOT asking them to make the raids easier or to bend the game around us, all I want is an easy way to be communicated to and to communicate to others. I don't see why we just can't all get along... We are all part of the same game, the same community, we all want to make this game better. So please, stop the fighting and focus on something positive. Thank you for your support, please share the post to spread the issue.

I know there’s a clan somewhere in the destiny community that’s like all deaf members. They’ve done all the raids by using emotes to communicate or something along those lines

Did anyone hear anything she said?

Edited by Ejmart90: 7/7/2018 7:54:00 PMCongrats on completing the raid Kasei!

A friend of mine & his brother who play Destiny are forced to use ASL on video chat to communicate quickly but that becomes problematic when something is happening in that moment as his brother is forced to try to figure out what to do without any timely input. Hopefully posts like this convince Bungie to figure out a better way to allow deaf players to enjoy all aspects of the game.

4 RepliesI personally hate the mechanics ridden mess that the raids currently are. What ever happened to just protect a point and/or kill stuff, maybe have a recurring relic help us along the way that isn't a 5 step mechanic all in itself. Pick up relic, use relic. Pick up sword, use sword. Pick up orb, slam orb. Compare that to the SOS boss fight, lol. The feedback must have been for more mechanics or they wouldn't have went so nuts with them. It just sucks for people who have difficulty performing what they expect and Bungie probably never bothered to consider who things were being made inaccessible to.
-
4 RepliesI'd disagree, but really this is part of the reason raids suck nowadays. They require so much communication and are so punishing they just aren't fun.
-
I wish they made the raids more like D1 where you didn’t really have to hear your team to do it.
-
How about a challenge from bungie? Complete a raid with no mic? We did one with some who pointed or danced it added another layer of complexity to the raid

2 RepliesEdited by gizzamaluke: 7/6/2018 9:47:46 PMBump! I'm not hearing impaired and I agree that EVERYONE who wants to play should be given the chance to play. Fight on, Guardian! PS: I'd love to try and take you through a raid! I have friends in my clan who love doing raids with new people and this could be an interesting challenge :) EDIT: looks like someone already got you through - yay! If you want to, again, let me know.

I am profoundly deaf still not complete destiny 2 raid I miss destiny 1 raid that you no need use mic

Maybe bungLe could have used the dpad for ANYTHING more useful than what it is now...
-
If you're on pc you can type in chat to communicate, but if on ps4 or xbone it's way harder. I'll help you with any raid Kas.
-
5 RepliesEdited by Jude: 7/6/2018 7:47:15 PMI take it no one has checked this -blam!-ers stats? No raid completions to date, in fact, no nothing for 9 months. Unless there's an alt account hiding somewhere.
-
4 RepliesBack in D1 it was only light lvl required but now it's 10 20+ clears and I had a team yesterday total d**kheads were flipping out when my friend asked a simple question. It's srsly stupid how people do it now
-
2 RepliesDid you get help?
-
I sympathize with you I do but how many other games can cater to this? It’d be great if you could figure out a way to communicate. Maybe send PS messages throughout the raid? You’ve been dealt a shit hand and that’s tough and saddening but I don’t know many games that are multiplayer that make these accommodations
-
3 RepliesYour post should’ve read: A deaf guardians plea You would’ve had less creeps, virgins and white knights replying. Sad but this the internet.
-
Raids require a lot of communication now due to tedious call out mechanics so the current raids they will not change or implement anything into them but have hope for future raids
-
2 RepliesProps to you Geek. I do not Raid anymore. So I could not help. I am very impressed in the way your team stood TALL. I have followed this post to see the way the community responded. As an OG I believe in setting a good example for the younger guys. I don’t know your age but you sir have done that today. Please continue to help those in need. What you will find is that the Reward is something money can not buy. Thx again to you & your team.

I'm glad you finally cleared the raid, but I wouldn't hold your breath for Bungie to add in ways for the hearing impaired to have help. It took Bungie this long just to have more than 1 emote changeable and still no in-game chat or reasonable match making or trying to make PvE and PvP balanced by their own. I think it also took Bungie a year just to add in support for different types of color blindness.
