People weren't complaining about a lack of content. They complained about a lack of incentive to do it.
-
The content is pretty crappy too.

As I will reiterate: Light Level is not endgame content. Awesome gear is. But let’s face it, Bungie has no idea how to make the gear appealing for people to want to run the content. That’s why they are just using light level as their replacement. What makes it worse is people just thinking this substitution is ok, which it should never be.

Awesome gear is just another incentive, like catalysts & power level progression. As a funny side note: I've been telling people on the forums that we need better gear for months, but they kept harping on about eververse & random rolls.
Awesome gear is just another incentive, like catalysts & power level progression.
Power level is not incentive. It’s just a substitution for incentive. But that particular point we will probably debate till the end of time.
As a funny side note: I've been telling people on the forums that we need better gear for months, but they kept harping on about eververse & random rolls.
Funny enough, the random roll bid was a way for people to agree with you on the better gear front. The problem is people aren’t able to read in between the lines sometimes with that, lol. Eververse was just another thing to show the cash shop had all the earnable cosmetics from D1 for money now. My issue is wanting them to drop from activities, personally, as nothing in the game really feels earned, you know. But I agree that it went a bit far on here, though Bungie didn’t exactly help matters on that front.
Funny enough, the random roll bid was a way for people to agree with you on the better gear front.
Sort of. Some people agreed with me when I gave them the "fatebringer vs. better devils" example, but most of them literally just wanted dopamine hits, & some of them even went so far as to say they need to do random rolls first, then focus on better gear.

Considering that Power level is nothing more than a number on a screen, it is not incentive to run anything. Just substituting for what would have been the real incentive which is Kick ass weapons and awesome looking armor. So yes, it does make sense, but you have to look at it from a slightly different perspective to get what I’m saying.

You're just going out of your way to deny reality. If you think power level is just a number, try to do a prestige NF with a 40 power handicap, or try to do any activity whose recommended power is higher than your character's.

Edited by Lord Kielron: 6/29/2018 1:54:00 PMSee now you are just trying to start crap. A simple I don’t agree with you would have sufficed. As to your handicap thing. For what purpose do I need to put myself below recommend light for? For a high score? Meh Handicaps are meant for a challenge only. They are a terrible example you are trying to attempt to use re Light Level.

It's not an agree/disagree thing. It's a fact that power level is an incentive & more than just a number on the screen. The stat-tracking emblems are just numbers on the screen, but power level is a mechanic that affects game play. The fact that the original comment is complaining about 400 power weapons being locked behind the raids is proof of that.
